~Aria~

Dressed in a long flowing embroidered gown, I twirled myself in front of my mirror.

I had just taken the biggest risk of my life and survived it too. I was happy and maybe excited about the wedding and coronation too.

My wolf purred softly. Our mate has accepted us and she couldn't hold back showing it.

Honestly, challenging Damon was the biggest risk I had ever taken. But one worth it. And I didn't think he would fall for it. I was anxious when I first suggested the game thinking he'd call it off.

Thankfully he didn't.

I stopped and my smile widened as I recalled the shock in his face the moment I slammed his hand down. It was so refreshing to see.

“I bet he didn't see that coming–me using his own trick on him.” I laughed so hard.

“Alert! Alert!” Beatrice announced from the outer room.

I smiled.

We both agreed to give signs anytime we saw Bertha coming.

Bertha charged into my chambers like a crazy woman.

“I'm sorry my Lady but you shouldn't–”

  • A Bride For The Ruthless Alpha    Poison

~Aria~Alpha Jamie leaned closer to me, his fingers lightly grasping my pendant.“Your necklace…where did you find it… it's rare and magnificent,” he uttered in admiration. It was the second day of the peace treaty renewal signing and we were standing in front of the ceremonial hall waiting for Lady Pat to join us. Last night, Jamie had suddenly left me in the gazebo after a guard whispered something in his ears. Something he didn't tell me as he hurried off but my sharp ears picked—his mother had just arrived at the Pack. The air shifted around me as his eyes strayed on my lips while he was still holding my pendant. My body tightened before I realised it and I could feel my pulse pounding in my throat. My wolf stirred, restless, pressing against my skin. Goddess knows I tolerated this lunatic’s flirting last night only because of the nature of his visit. And because Logan had personally told me Damon did not wish for him to be provoked in any way, and asked me to try my best to tol

~Damon~“Tomorrow morning? How would you convince Jamie?”“Wait and see,” I said, my lips curling upward. Then I counted. “One…two…three…and now!”I snapped my finger and the door burst open. “My Alpha, there's a new guest. Alpha Jamie's mother, Lady Pat is here,” the guard announced. Xander and Logan looked at me with a gasp.“Damon… How—”“Wait….was this the plan you mentioned?”“You really had the whole thing planned ahead!”“With a jerk like Jamie, you must think steps ahead,” I noted as I poured myself a whiskey. As I was studying Jamie, something had caught my eyes in Logan's report about him. Jamie was a well known jerk amongst many other rotten behaviors. But he was a filial son. Although not entirely by his own choice. But rumours had it he feared his mother more than anyone or anything. He would never disobey her orders. And the butter on the icing? The mother, Lady Pat, was good friends with my mother. I wasn't sure how strong her friendship and loyalty with my mother

  • A Bride For The Ruthless Alpha    Lacking control

~Damon~“They are here,” Logan whispered as Alpha Jamie and his entourage came into view.I stood in front of the Mansion’s main entrance gate with the elders. As the chief elder, my uncle stood beside me. He was particularly interested in this peace treaty renewal. Silver Fang’s peace treaty with my Pack came suddenly, and as a surprise to not just me but everyone. I could not discuss it with him beforehand. I could tell he was fuming inside when I announced it in front of not just him but the other elders as well. He could not show his fangs as there were many eyes watching. He liked to keep the appearance of the good Uncle helping his nephew to lead. “You must do all you can to ensure this renewal happens or else the foundation of this pack will be shaken and it will affect the future,” he'd told me last night when he visited alone. “How is your Luna…you must be getting along now,” he had said just before he left. All through the night, I could not stop thinking about what h

~Damon~“My Alpha, should your lunch be served in your office?” a guard asked me. Without looking up from my desk, I dismissed him and asked him to take the food away. I had no appetite to eat. Aria would rather be out having meetings with the she-wolves and catering to the pups of the Pack than see me. I couldn't tell if she was intentionally avoiding me or she was truly busy with her Pack duties. Since Princess Sheila’s reveal, speaking to her had been weighing on my mind. But how was I going to apologize if I couldn't even get her to speak to me?“You sure you don't want it?” Logan chirped.“I heard the Luna specially made it.”My head jerked up. The Luna…“Guards!” I barked charging out of my seat.“You'll eat it?” Logan asked with a smirk. “Well, she made an effort. It would be rude to turn it back,” I mumbled quietly as I sat around the table. Midway into eating, I heard something that sounded like Aria’s voice outside. A moment later, the main door opened. I looked up

  • A Bride For The Ruthless Alpha    Not angry

~Damon~Immediately after dinner I marched to Xander's quarters with my insides boiling. If what Princess Sheila revealed was true, then nothing happened between him and Aria…and I had been angry at them for no reason. My jaw clenched hard.“You could have asked. You refused to listen to me and hurt our mate!” my wolf growled furiously. “Xander!” I banged on the front door. Xander came out. “Tell me everything that happened that night,” I demanded. “Isn't it a bit late to ask now, my Alpha?” He asked back, his tone unwelcoming. I exhaled, my jaw tightening harder. I messed up badly. I should never have treated my best friend that way. I had been so furious, so furious I refused to listen to anything. I had barked at him and forbade him from doing his gamma duties. Nothing could crush a wolf than being relieved of their Pack duties. But I had imposed such punishment on him without a second thought. “Why didn't you tell me…you should have done all in your power to tell me eve

  • A Bride For The Ruthless Alpha    A rival turned ally

~Aria~Ella fidgeted.“This right here is called the dark desire potion. Once a drop or two of it is added into whatever gets into your mouth, you cannot tell what your next actions are again. In clear terms, you become someone controlled by dark forces…” Sheila explained, her tone dripping with ice. She faced Ella. “Tell us, where did you get this portion from?”Ella bent her face and twisted her fingers nervously. That was it!My fingers curled so hard it was pale.I had seen enough and everything was clear like crystal now. I stood up from my seat, a feral growl roaring inside me. I faced the maid, my eyes burning. “Did you give this to Xander…answer me…” “Have something got your tongue?!” Damon growled, charging up. “Is this true? Did you give this portion to Xander?!”“Forgive me, my Alpha…I have committed a crime..” The maid dropped to her knees. I could not believe my eyes and ears. My insides were burning red hot. My wolf was furious and clawed at my walls. A disbelief
