~Aria~

My smile vanished.

I stared at Damon, my throat clamping.

Could he see through me?

Was there a chance he had an idea of what the chief elder demanded from me?

A guard strode in and broke the silence.

“Here to report. My Alpha, the guests are ready to meet you and the elders are here.”

“What a bummer,” Xander groaned.

Damon stood up immediately, his face rock hard.

“We'll continue another time, Luna. Lisa,” Xander said, his face apologetic.

I nodded, still unable to mutter words.

The moment the door closed after them, a sharp breath left me.

“You are troubled,” Lisa noted. “Is it the Alpha?”

“It's nothing you should concern yourself with. I will handle it, okay?”

As I headed back to our quarters, Damon’s question rang in my head.

Goddess, help me.

I don't want to betray Damon…

I really don't want to hurt him…

“My Luna, your duty roster.” Beatrice handed me a file as soon as I walked into the house.

I sighed as I collected it from her.

“For tomorrow, you have a meeting

  • A Bride For The Ruthless Alpha    She-devil

~Aria~On pulling the door open, I froze in shock at the sight of my supposed visitor. My emotions cycled through shock, surprise and then excitement, and my wolf leaped up inside me happily.I swallowed, words refusing to pass through my clogged up throat. “Damon,” I gasped, and without thinking, jumped into his body. “How… why… how… you here?” My words stumbled over themselves as I clung unto him tightly, as though he'd vanish if I left him, even for one second. Still holding me, he pulled me back into the room. And just as I finally broke from the hug, he bent and claimed my lip in a heartbeat, kissing me like his entire existence depended on it. “I missed you,” he breathed as we slowly pulled apart, his eyes still locked on me.Holy Goddess. I struggled to pace my breathing as heat— hot heat— rushed to my face. I bit my lips hard trying to stop the warmth spreading through me, my thighs pulsated at the rhythm of my pulse. I felt alive again. So alive. “How did you find me h

  • A Bride For The Ruthless Alpha    Poison

~Aria~ “Have you gotten any news yet?” I asked, getting up quickly from the sofa as Beatrice entered the chambers. I had asked her to keep an eye on the pack clinic ever since Emily was taken in. “No movements yet, my Luna. The Alpha is still in there.” I sighed, my shoulders dropping slowly. I just didn't get it…. Emily was far from being weak. Slumping in front of me and Damon almost seemed too planned. “My Luna…” Beatrice started quietly, “there’s something I should tell you,” she said. “Speak, Beatrice. What is it?” “Lady Emily poisoned herself,” Beatrice said. I looked at her, fixedly, for a split moment. “What are you talking about?” I questioned, trying to understand her. “I saw her… when I went to her chambers to meet maid Susan.” I glanced around as I sat down, making sure no one was at earshot. “What exactly did you see?” “A portion was in front of her. It had a pungent smell, the portion. I smelt it from the window. The smoke coming from the cup was ashy.

  • A Bride For The Ruthless Alpha    Wrong about her

~Aria~I was running. I didn't know where I was racing to or why I was running… but I just felt I should be running and never stop.It was thick dark, but the sounds my legs made as I ran weren't crunchy—like the last time I was running in the woods and my legs were crushing the dried leaves. No tree branches smacked me either. All I heard as I ran was:Thud. Thud. Thud. Heavy thuds.Suddenly, I felt my legs wobble… like I was standing on a narrow cliff and about to drop. And suddenly, I lost my footing. “Nooooo!” I screamed as an invincible hand from nowhere pushed me and I started dropping. It felt like I was dropping through an endless dark tunnel or pit. But before I could finally land, I jumped up and realized it was only a dream. “My pup…you are safe…” I panted, my hand impulsively reaching to my stomach. As soon as I felt my pup stir, along with my wolf, an exhale left me in a breath. “My Luna, are you alright?” Beatrice asked, running into the room. “Did you have anoth

  • A Bride For The Ruthless Alpha    The crazy couple neighbors

~Damon~“I’ll see you later.” I lowered and planted a quick kiss on Aria's cheeks before I dashed off. “What's the situation?” I questioned as I strode into my office. “Um… the situation is a bit…” Logan started, stuttering. I stopped and looked around. “Where are they?” I asked. He clearly mindlinked me about two neighbor pack members in a serious argument that needed my intervention. But to both my annoyance and confusion, Logan avoided my gaze. Which was very unlike him. I turned to Xander, my nerve of patience beginning to wither. “What the heck is going on? No one will speak to me, huh?!” “Um… I'll go bring them out. They are in Logan's office,” Xander said and hurried into Logan's office.I hoofed a sigh as I took my seat. “Where's the report file?” I demanded, glancing up at Logan with a frown.Again, he stuttered. “Uh… not ready yet—”I slammed my hand on the desk, very furious. “You listened to their arguments first and should have written a report at the same time. Wh

  • A Bride For The Ruthless Alpha    My wolf

~Aria~In the evening, Damon and I strolled the mansion holding hands. I intentionally avoided meeting his gaze, afraid I'd see that dirty teasing smirk in his eyes, reminding me about hours ago. As we strolled, I suddenly recalled him saying, “The baby kicked. Your stomach must be hurting” and I smiled hard. He had said it with such fear and was panicking. It felt so funny seeing the almighty Alpha Damon look so dumb and clueless. “You were saying something,” he started quietly. “Saying what?” I asked. He glanced at me. “Back at the dining table, you said something…”I frowned, recalling saying absolutely nothing during the dinner. At least until—He awkwardly cleared his throat. His reaction quickly told me it must have been something I said during our make out. I froze. Did I say something ridiculous? “Someone told me it should be gentle and not hard and fast,” Damon said, startling me, even though his voice was calm and gentle. “You didn’t let me finish the last time…” I pro

  • A Bride For The Ruthless Alpha    Heat during dinner

~Aria~“Mmh,” I groaned softly as I stirred in the bed. My body felt exhausted, but at the same time weirdly refreshed. Sounds of clothes shuffling over one another echoed in my ears as I tried to force myself to sleep back. It got closer and closer. The closer it sounded, the quicker sleep left my eyes. Unable to keep still anymore, my eyes slammed open. It turned out Beatrice was arranging my clothes in the wardrobe. “How did I get here…” I mumbled as my eyes scanned my body, surprised at the dress I was putting on. I vividly remember I hated to wear this particular dress because Bertha had something similar. I did not remember putting it on. “My Luna, finally, you are awake,” Beatrice said, turning away from the wardrobe. Finally?“How long did I sleep?” I asked. “The whole morning and afternoon. You missed lunch. Now's time for dinner.”Huh? I slept through the afternoon? How…“Um… Beatrice, how did I get changed into this dress? You know how much I hated to see it. Why did
