Chapter 46
Tasha has been avoiding Maverick for days, but Gonzalo and Patricia are not helping the situation. The two of them are constantly teasing them, and it only makes the situation worse. Tasha already asked Patricia to allow her to go back to her own house, but she refused. Even Gonzalo won't let her, saying that it is safer if she is with them.
"Sorry." Tasha apologized to the person she bumped with while walking her way to the garden. She learned to spend most of her time there to avoid Maverick and almost everybody else.
"Where are you going?" A familiar voice of a man stops her from walking away.
When Tasha looked up, she saw Maverick's intense gaze. Tasha wanted to say something, but her words got stuck in her throat. Their eyes locked, and the tension became palpable in the air. They wanted to look away, but neither of them had the strength to do so.
