Selena’s POV

“Do not fucking tell me that I should forget it, Jake.” I said. My voice was sharp. Shaky. And loud. My chest was rising and falling very fast. And my hands would not stop shaking. “What the hell did you just want to say?”

Jake froze like he was a deer. One that was in the middle of the road and saw headlights coming. He opened his mouth to say something, but he did not say anything. I moved to him. Walking closer to him. I was looking at him like I could get the answers I wanted just from looking.

“You said something that you are not supposed to know about. You—“ I swallowed hard. “You said something about my parents. How do you know about that?”

He used his hands and he rubbed the back of his neck. His eyes were looking at everything but he did not look at me. His other hand was inside his pocket. Like he was trying to hide his nerves there.
