Chapter five
Nathan"Welcome everyone," The chairman of the event greeted, alerting everyone including me that 'my' wedding was about to begin.
My fucking wedding.
I turned to face the man dressed in some fancy suit and from the corner of my eyes, I saw Chloe do the same.
I had to admit, she looked stunning. When she had stepped into the garden, I was damn sure my jaw had dropped to the freaking floor. Yeah, I wasn't proud of it, but I had to admit, she was beautiful.
Chloe's curvy figure was accentuated in her wedding dress. I didn't care much for all the fancy frills of the dress, but the neckline- Fuck! The swell of her creamy breasts drew me in, taunting me as they jiggled with each step she took.
The insane desire to cart her off and bury my face in those mounds slammed into me, spreading wild hunger that licked at every cell in my body.
"Idiot," I muttered, looking away from her, trying to wake myself from the haze of lust. Lust had gotten me in the darned mess in the first place.
Unable to resist, I stole another glance at her and saw her lips pressed in a line.
Her blue eyes, the very same that had reeled me in that night like a fisherman to a siren, stared glumly at the man before them. There was a comfort in knowing she wasn't happy about the marriage just as I wasn't.Perhaps she's faking it, my mind taunted and my lips rose in a sneer. Women were tricky. I had always known that about them from the get-go. They used their charms and wiles to deceptively get whatever they wanted.
My eyes dropped to her belly. She wasn't showing yet that she was pregnant and while the rational part of me knew that it was normal as she was barely two months pregnant, the furious part of me wondered if there was any pregnancy at all.
"You may kiss the bride," The chairman announced, jolting me to the present.
Kiss the bride? That was it? I had been thinking throughout the entire procession.
"How fucking lovely," I murmured snidely turning to face Chloe.
Her big beautiful eyes stared icily at me and if I wasn't so pissed at myself, I would have laughed at how hilarious she looked.
"We don't have all day!" Someone from among the guests yelled.
"We know she's beautiful," Another urged.
I glanced at my parents wondering where the hell they had gotten so many people from. The wedding was supposed to be a fucking quiet one-
"Kiss her already!"
"Fine!" I barked at the last speaker and grabbed Chloe's face, planting a swift peck on her lips.
The crowd awed and oohed, while my insides twisted as I pulled away, unable to take my eyes off her lips.
They had felt soft and plump against mine. But I knew they led to somewhere much more exciting. Her mouth. Her sweet, enticing mouth.
I felt my body grow hard in need as every memory from that night came rushing back. The kisses we shared. I swallowed as I recalled the feel of her soft velvet mouth against mine, our tongues clashing and molding together. A shudder ran through my back and I stepped away from her quickly.
Beside me, Chloe snickered, drawing my attention once again.
"That was pathetic," she mumbled just loud enough for me to hear.
"What?!" I spat, fury was slowly mixing with lust and I wasn't sure I was in my right senses anymore.
Chloe simply smiled and turned as the Chairman announced, "Mr and Mrs Benjamin" , leaving me stewing in anger.
*****Whatever had happened afterwards at the wedding was a blur to me . I couldn't care less. After stepping down from the podium, I went to the bar to drink myself into oblivion.
As I stumbled towards the door, I wondered where Chloe was at the moment as I tried to fish out my keys. We were supposed to have our honeymoon at some hotel, but I was too fucking drunk to remember where.
"Honeymoon my ass," I snickered and laughed at my words, my hands trembling with the keys. "Dammit, who tied all these keys together?!"
"Probably you, you dimwit!" Chloe's voice rang somewhere around me and I chuckled.
"I must be wasted! I'm hearing things,"
"Oh no, you'll be hearing worse things, by the time I'm fucking done with you!" Chloe screamed behind me and stunned me.
There she stood on the walkway, looking every bit like the goddess of vengeance in a silky silver gown that shone in the night. Her hair, blonde and soft, fell over her shoulders, reaching the swell of her breasts that peeked through the neck of the gown.
Always teasing and taunting me.
"You look beautiful," I breathed.
I saw her eyes flicker, losing its anger for a while. Only for a while.
"Sweet talking me won't work!" She spat. "Where the hell were you?! You disappeared and I kept waiting at the stupid hotel for you! Do you have any idea how ridiculous it is for a woman in a fucking wedding dress to be in a room and her husband is no where to be found?! The hotel attendants kept gossiping about me!"
"And how the hell does that matter to me?!" I spat, throwing my hand in the air. "I never asked to be shackled to you!"
"I never asked to be either!" Chloe screamed. "This whole mess is all your fault! How the hell didn't you use protection-"
"Don't you dare put all this on me! Last I checked, I wasn't the one moaning and begging for more like a deranged nymphomani-" I could barely finish my words. A harsh smack landed on my cheeks and for a minute, we both stared at each other, heaving labored breaths.
She slapped me! I realized in fury. The bitch had just slapped me!
"Chloe!" I thundered and paused when she flinched, stepping away from me. I gripped her hand to hold her down, forcing her to look at me. "Don't ever do that again!"
The defiant woman looked up at me with tears glistening in her pretty eyes. When she spoke, her voice came out weak and tired. "Don't ever humiliate me again."
I felt the fight leave my body as soon as I saw how vulnerable she was. The gown she wore was a night dress. She must have left the hotel to search for me out of shame. A woman roaming the streets of South Carolina in search of her husband.
Feeling like an awful jerk, which I probably was, I turned around and resumed fishing for the keys. When I finally opened the door, which took forever, I turned around to let Chloe in, but she had fallen asleep, sitting on a garden stone.
Chapter SixChloe "Chloe!" I smirked and stared at my reflection in the mirror, feeling quite smug. "Chloe!!!" Nathan thundered. I could hear his feet climbing the stairs rapidly, approaching my room.A giggle rose in my throat and I clenched the bedsheet in my hands in anticipation. That bastard had dared to abandon me at the hotel! It had been horrible. Arriving at an hotel in a wedding dress with no groom fussing over me had immediately sent the staff into a gossip frenzy. At first, I thought he had gone somewhere to cool off or calm down or whatever the fuck men did before their wedding night. Okay perhaps I had been expecting more. I wasn't happy about the wedding, and neither was Nathan, but I'd be a terrible liar if I said I hadn't thought of us spending the night together. Who wouldn't? He could be a jerk, but he was a hot, spiffing jerk. Mostly still a jerk however, seeing that the idiot never showed up. By the time it was eleven in the night, I knew he had run off. It
Chapter Seven Nathan I could tell my face was a bowl of a frown as I tried severally to get rid of the blue ink that had spilled all over my face. I used all the energy I could muster but the unwillingness of the ink that spilled all over my face got me even more upset. My breathing had begun to be more on the high side but I managed to continue rubbing it and my wrist began to hurt me yet my effort was futile. “Gianna!” I yelled angrily, placing a tap on the table with my fingers continuously. “Gianna!” I yelled again. I felt like she was responsible for what had happened. It seemed like she had caused nothing. I could not tell why I passed my aggression at calling her name but the next minute, she rushed in, a frightened expression on her face. I stretched my hands and wanted to utter a word as I saw her slip on the floor and was about to fall but was quick to have a grip of herself. I ran my hands through my hair pretending I had not seen whatever had happened. I was assur
Chapter 8Chloe Nathan's house was quite nice. I had to give it to him, he had a rather wonderful house. Not that I would ever admit it to his face. Despite looking quite modest on the outside, the building was wide and spacious. It also had a backyard pool that I very much plan to use for my leisure. Living with my parents meant I had little to no time for fun. There were rules I had to follow, and regulations to live by, and honestly, mom and dad were the worst sort of hypocrites I had ever met. A sigh escaped me as memories of the past plagued me and I shook my head. The microwave let out a ding, telling me my dinner was ready. Getting married to Nathan was my means to escape. And even though he could be a jerk, at least he was keeping his distance this time. It had been a full week since we got married and I could count how many times we had seen face to face. "He's avoiding me," I grumbled, pulling out the bowl of lasagna and stabbing it with a fork. I shouldn't be sad abo
Chapter 9NathanI had never been so darn happy to hear those words in my entire fucking life. She sat down on my couch, dressed in a flimsy dress that had caught my attention from the minute I stepped in. It was a light cotton dress that clung to her seductive frame, ending inches above her knees. Her pale sweet thighs winked at me, asking to be touched and dear God, I wanted so badly. I wanted to reach for the low V-neckline and rip it now until her breasts were on full display. Her sweet, generous breasts. My mouth watered at the thought and I stifled a groan that threatened to slip out. "Kiss me, Nathan," Chloe whispered again and all sane thoughts slipped out the window. With a tortured groan, I covered the space between us and covered her mouth with mine. And that had to be the best decision I had made all fucking week. Her lips were soft and plump, pressed hotly against mine. That was sweet and all, but I wanted more. I had spent the entire fucking week getting taunted by
Chapter Ten Nathan "There's my little brother!" Noah yelled as soon as I pushed the bar door open. The men chugging shots paused to look at me, the dancing strippers on stage glanced in the direction the idiot pointed and a couple- or maybe they weren't a couple but they were both shameful enough to shag each other like a bunch of rabbits in an open space, paused mid shagging on a couch hidden in a corner, then with a liquid laugh that repulsed me, they resumed. The bar reeked of alcohol and cigars and a musty smell I was certain came from the shameless fuckers. "Dammit, Noah! You couldn't pick a much more classy bar?" I snapped, settling on a stool beside the blockhead of a brother. "Aww, does this place offend your sensibilities? I'm sorry you're such a sensitive lady," he mocked, a stupid grin on his face as he raised a glass of thick frothy drink that hissed with each movement. That drink could not be safe. And no way was I drinking that shit. I adjusted my white tee
Eleven Chloe He wasn't home yet. I was certain I looked like an idiot peeking out the window, waiting eagerly for my husband's Chevrolet to pull up in the driveway. Fucking hilarious. I retreated from the window, stomping over to the couch in the living room. Why on earth was I worried about that jerk? I should be happy that he was gone for fucksake. I could imagine him passed out in some high-end fancy club, drunk from chugging away his troubles. "Idiot!" I spat, grabbing a throw pillow on the couch and throwing it to the floor. "Idiot!" I screamed again, feeling a fresh wave of fury pulse through my veins. Why the hell was I even mad? He shouldn't matter. None of the shit he did ought to matter to me. Heck, He could wind up, dead ass drunk in the damn gutter and I would not give a fuck. And it was definitely not because he had run off after kissing me. Liar. "I am not a liar!" I yelled at myself, feeling an inordinate urge to strangle something. "Who does he think he is anyway
Twelve.NATHANI was doomed. I should have suspected that when I woke up with a woman in my arms. The woman turned out to be Chloe and that further confirmed my state of doom. Damn if this was damnation, then I didn't think I minded it one bit. We lay on the floor in the living room. Her head is on my chest, rising and falling with each breath I take. As I lay there, I try to remember what happened the night before. I had left the bar after Noah asked about Lily. Another fucking complication that Chloe brought into my life. Noah had asked what I planned to do to sort things out with her. And honestly, I had no clue. I guess I would have to figure that out later. It was a wonder that I had gotten home in one piece. Also, a mighty wonder that I didn't get pulled over by the cops for driving after drinking. And perhaps it was a good thing none of that happened or I wouldn't have come home to see a flushed Chloe touching herself. It had to be the hottest sight I had seen in a long ti
Chapter 13 ChloeI was so exhausted. There was nothing much more exhausting than scrubbing a house spotless. I had woken up, bored out of my mind and my face burning up in shame. I had let that bastard touch me, like a freaking wanton. I doubt I would ever live that down. I was very ashamed and that had to be the understatement of the year. But is it so bad? A voice in my head said and I groaned, rising off the floor and wiping my butt. Nathan's kitchen glared at me, spotless from my frantic cleaning. There had been nothing for me to do anyway. I honestly wasn't sure what I wanted to do after getting married. I had a degree in accounting and I suppose I could use that to work. My parents had been the chief decision-makers in my life and with their absence, I was sort of at loss. That's pathetic, the voice in my head quipped and my shoulders slumped in pity. The more I thought about it, the more pathetic it sounded. What were my parents up to anyway? They hadn't contacted me in a
