3.36- Knew All Along

Mira took a step back, frustrated by the bodyguard's barely concealed hostility. He hesitated, apparently determined not to insult Jacob for his assistance during her stay. From the door, she glanced back.

"Things are not what you think." She said helplessly.

"I shouldn't be thinking about anything, Mrs. Delrama."

But there was accusation about him, his usual quiet friendliness chilled by what she believed to be a fiercely defensive loyalty to Jacob.
