Ninety-two: Girls day in

“Good morning, Gretchen,” Amelia greeted in a cheerful voice, striding into the kitchen with a smile on her face. As soon as Gretchen saw her, a warm smile bloomed on her face and she turned away from the cooker to face Amelia who was at the coffee machine, preparing two mugs of coffee.

“It’s good to see you again,” Gretchen said, still smiling.

It had almost been a week since she’d seen Amelia. Although she worked in the house every day and was always around until the evenings, she hadn’t set eyes on the younger woman. Since the news of her relation to the well-known Chinese businessman, Amelia had been spending all of her days in her room, deep in her gloom and refusing to see anyone.

Gretchen could understand her plight and she felt terrible for her. The young woman had been through a lot since she relocated to New York but seeing her looking so cheerful with that big beautiful smile on her face warmed her heart.
