It's been a week since Reece marked me. We haven't really spoken since. Well, I haven't spoken to him. He tried to talk to me the first few days but gave up when he realised I wasn't going to give him the conversation he wanted. I'm not the type of person who can be pushed, I'll talk when I'm ready.
Things have changed in a week, they've changed a lot. I've moved into the castle with the prince which is an hours drive for uni and work. Reece and I share his room in the gorgeous palace (he sleeps on the couch because I refuse to stay in the same bed as him and he refuses to sleep in a separate room.) and he set up me up in The Luna Study which is ajoins to his. He leaves the glass doors wide open and stares at me more than actually working. He insisted I redecorate it so I did. The color scheme is baby blue and gold. The glass balcony doors are almost always open with the light washed wicker furniture littering the space. The furniture inside is the same lightwashed colou"Hey Adrian. I…" someone grabs my wrist from behind the desk. "GET DOWN!" Adrian whisper shouts. "What's going on?" I whisper back confused. "I'm running low on amo so I can't let them know where I am." He gestures to his nerf gun. I now see his usual smart attire has been picked apart. His shoes have been discarded, his jacket tied diagonally across his chest by the sleeves with nerf bullets in the pockets and his tie is tied around his head to keep his hair out of his face. "You know you're a politician, right?" I say condescendingly"Yes and The Rats have started a war so like any good politician, I'm hiding behind a desk and letting innocent people die for my cause." He calls his younger half siblings The Rats. I learnt this during our second politics lesson when I got a full family history. Queen Freya (she was the only child so took over the throne when her father was assassinated by the warlocks.) whose mate is King Lachlan (
I'm in the shower. That's all that's happening. I'm in the shower. Having a shower. Having a very long hot shower. I'm trying so hard not to think because it makes my head hurt but I can't help thinking about how different it is. With Reece. It's so different. I never felt anything like that with Ben. Not once. Reece gives me the best kind of butterflies. He is so sweet. I love the way he calls me princess and kitten. How he leaves me love notes. How he steals glances at me no matter where we are. How he insist on holding me hand, even when he's driving. He makes me feel safe and protected. He makes me feel loved. I appreciate how slow we're taking things. If we were going at a normal wolf speed, I would already be pregnant. I hope Reece wants pups. I can only imaging having a little us running around. How sweet he'll be when I'm pregnant. We haven't really spoken about the future. There are all these expectations that I don't mind fulfilling like being queen and providing an heir b
I turn the speaker up as I dance around the room. I pick up my hairbrush as microphone. "I'm a man who has very specific taste." I sing at the top of my lungs. My hair's almost dry and we towel discarded a long time again. I swing my hips in time with the music. I've actually played the sax to this song for the club one time. Speaking of the club, it's time to start getting ready for work. I strut into the closet. I pull out my black dress and pull it over my curves. Strong hands grab the zip and pull it up. He places his hands on my hips. Feather soft kisses on my jaw turn into cheeky nips down my neck. Reece reaches his one hand up to cup me left breast. He squeezes it softly through the thin fabric. I tilt my head back to moan but his lips capture mine and the sound. He snakes his hand up my thigh which causes my dress to ride up. His fingers stop at my entrance. He teases me with slow circles while going back to nipping my neck. My incoherent notices fill
The bedrooms empty when I get home so I head into the office to find Reece. He's sitting at his desk with his glasses on hunched over a stack of papers. I lean against the door frame and take a moment to appreciate my very sexy mate. He is so fucking perfect. Sometimes I still can't believe he wants me, scars and all. A breeze sweeps through the room and he catches my scent. He looks up with the sweetest smile I've ever seen. Like a child that's just been given chocolate. "Hi gorgeous." His voice still gives me goosebumps. "Hi." I smile back and walk over and he pulls me into his lap with his hands around my waist. "Why are you up so late?" I run my fingers through his silky hair."I was waiting for you to get back safe and sound." I kiss him softly. "You'll never guess what happened today." I pull out of the kiss with my fingers still tangled in his hair. "What?" He asks. I love how he looks at me. "I got a job
I hate the mass gathering of people. It freaks me out just a bit. All these people mean a bigger fire hazard. All these people mean that at least one person is a psychopath or sociopath. All these people mean that someone could start a fire. All these people mean someone might be murdered. The only positive of all these people is the people watching. I sit in my chair at the base of the stage and watch. Watch people coming. Watch people going. Watch the relationships and not relationships. Things that were and are and could be. Things that will happen and might happen and won't happen. Things. I've been told I have an overactive observation and interpretation rate that eggs on my unusually high imagination. Some psychiatrist said I have the imagination of a 5 year old combined with the dark thoughts and life experience of a 30 year old war veteran. But he never said if that was good or not. Maybe it is, until it's not. The ceremony starts and the
I snatch my clothing from the base of the stairs at my full blown sprint. I pull my phone from the heap and check my messages as my footsteps pound against the unfazed monument. Shit! Matteo sent me multiple messages and tried to phone me a lot. I quickly dial his number. "Im so sorry Matteo. Time ran away from me. I'm coming." I say down the stupid thing in my hand. "I had to go Kim. Jordan's in labor. Reece is on his way to fetch you now." He says a little panicked. "Oh my Goddess. Congratulations Teo. You are going to be such an awesome dad. Now get off the phone with me and drive safely back to your mate." I hang up before he has the chance to say anything but I catch his chuckle. I straighten my dress as Reece pulls the car into the parking at warp speed. He gets out the car and walks around to open my door. I learned after the first time I opened it myself that I shouldn't. I was subjected to a 20 minute lecture about how a femal
Reece tosses me onto my feet. Before I even tilt back because I loose balance, Reece's lips are pressed against mine and his arms are around my waist. I waste no time kissing him back and fling my arms around his neck. It's a deep, passionate, toe curling, goosebump, shiver down your spine kind of kiss. The kind of kiss I'll never forget. His fingers run up my back softly to find the zipper of my dress. He glides it down and moves his fingers back down my back, to hook his hands around the back of my thighs. In one fluid motion he picks me up so my legs wrap around his waist. He takes one step towards the bed and a rapid knocking sounds on the door. Reece's growl reverberates through the room, making the windows shake. "I would be here if it wasn't important." Hunter's voice sounds through the door. "There's an massive attack coming through from the west." Reece almost drops me as he races to the door. Hunter and a group of warriors are waiting outside our ro
The light floods in as a command rings out for the end of the fight. I'm covered in blood and gore. Most of my weapons have been discarded in fallen bodies. We begin the trek back through the forest to the castles, picking up weapons as we go. Cradling the injured to make it back to the medics. Cylipso drags her weapons across the floor as she trudges right behind me. She looks drained and heavy. Blood spatters her face and hair. She has a deep gash on her left arm that I tied and patched up with my shirt. She will carry today with her for the rest of her life. I remember my first bloodshed. It started on a stormy summers evening. I was reading a romance novel in the pack library when the siren went off and everyone rushed out the small heaven. Every able body was washed through the sea of people and crashed with weapons to be strapped on. I was in the second grouping of warriors to face the attack. I remember the first enemy I faced. He was tall and had dark
