Se connecterOnce inside, Zayren closed the door behind them, making Sarang frown slightly. “Zay... ” she began, but he didn’t let her finish. He pinned her gently against the wall and pressed his lips to hers... this time, not so softly. Sarang froze as she felt him deepen the kiss. He held her close, his touch gentle yet certain, and brushed his tongue against her lower lip, asking silently for entrance. But he stopped when he realized she wasn’t kissing him back. “Sarang,” he murmured, cupping her cheeks softly while she stared up at him in silence. “I want to show you something,” he said. She frowned at his words and watched as he stepped back. Her eyes widened slightly when he began removing his coat and unbuttoning his shirt. She quickly reached out to stop him. “Our parents are downstairs, and this is not ri... ” She looked away, unable to bring herself to finish the sentence, but he understood exactly what she meant. A smirk tugged at his lips. “Wait... what do you mean this is not…?”
“I... ” she started but couldn’t finish. He smiled faintly. “Are you going to torture me, Sarang? Because I can still see it in your eyes. They still look at me the way they used to.” She swallowed hard. He still knew her too well. “Fine,” he said gently. “I can wait. It’s only a few days until our wedding. You should tell your mother about it.” Her eyes widened. “Zayren... ” “If you’re worried about her reaction, then I’ll tell her,” he said before she could protest. She shook her head, but he cupped her cheeks. “I know you wouldn’t be able to say it, so let me.” He pressed a soft kiss against her lips before pulling away and calling out, “Ma’am.” Sarang froze as he took her hand and led her toward the living room. “What is it?” Ms. Cheon asked when she saw them. Zayren smiled and said confidently, still holding Sarang’s hand, “Ma’am, I and Sarang are getting married this weekend. We want your blessing.” Sarang looked down, terrified to see disappointment in her mother’s eyes
Mr. Jang looked at her for a long moment before answering, “Your mother needs you right now,” he said simply, and then left without another word. Sarang frowned, confused. She wanted to ask more, to understand why they had been there in the first place. She had received a call from the hospital that her mother had regained consciousness, but when she arrived, she found Jiyeon and her father already there. She couldn’t stop wondering if they had something to do with her mother waking up. “Don’t overthink it, I’m here. Nothing is wrong,” Zayren said softly, and she nodded, though her heart still beat rapidly with unease. She didn’t know if it was fear or excitement that made her chest tighten. “Mom,” she called softly as she entered the room and saw her mother trying to hide her tears. “Sarang, my child,” Ms. Cheon said weakly, and Sarang rushed forward, wrapping her arms around her mother as tears streamed down her face. “I missed you so much,” Sarang cried, and her mother kissed
“But if you ever forgive me and want to come back to me, then Sarang, you won’t find me alive.” Sarang dashed toward him and grabbed his collar, yanking him down with sudden force. Her eyes burned with rage and fear as she hissed, “I’ll kill you myself if you say that word again.” Her glare was hard and fierce, but Zayren smiled softly as he looked at her, seeing her so close to him. He could feel not only her anger but also the hidden care shining through her eyes. “Why, Sarang? If you’re going to leave me, then it shouldn’t matter to you whether I’m alive or not,” he said with his voice trembling in pain, and her grip on his collar tightened until her knuckles turned white. “It does matter because... ” she began, but stopped midway. He slowly held her wrists and felt her hands loosen on his collar. “Because what, Sarang?” he asked, his tone softer now, as if afraid the answer might destroy him. She clenched her jaw and looked away. “Because of our child,” she finally said. “You
After some time, she was about to lie down on the bed after getting tired of sitting for so long when the door opened, and she saw Zayren standing there holding a plate in his hands. “I said I won’t eat,” she muttered, but Zayren already placed the plate in front of her. She gave him a look of annoyance... until she sniffed the smell coming from the food he made. She looked down only to find something familiar... the food she had eaten made by him for the first time... ramen. And then the memories came flooding back... the first time in his home, the way she came to check if he was fine, the rain, the wet clothes, his shirt, and then… ramen, and... “I know you’re hungry,” she came out of her thoughts hearing him and looked up. “What do you want to do?” she asked, and he frowned. “I just want you to eat,” he said, and she shook her head hard. “No! You want to make me remember our dating time? And you think by doing that I’ll forget everything and forgive you?!” His smile faded h
The room gasped. Jiyeon’s mouth parted in shock, her whole body trembling. Mr. Jang’s jaw tightened as his fury radiated like fire. “How dare you... !” he barked, but Mrs. Kim’s voice cut through, trembling, desperate. “Wait… is that true, son?” Zayren turned his glare back to his parents and nodded firmly. “Yes. She faked her pregnancy... just so she could trap me into marrying her. At first, she thought if Sarang broke up with me, she’d have a chance. But when Sarang walked away and I still didn’t give a damn about her, she went lower. She lied. She staged everything. She fooled all of you.” His voice cracked with both rage and disappointment as he spat the last words. “And none of you even questioned her. You trusted her lies over your own son. Over me, Mom.” Silence. Heavy, suffocating silence. Mrs. Kim’s lips quivered, her head dropping as though the weight of his words crushed her chest. Mr. Kim stood frozen, struggling between disbelief and shame. Meanwhile, Jiyeon’s tears
“Doctor, what are the results?” he asked, voice eager. The doctor paused, glancing briefly at Sarang, who kept her head lowered. Something about the silence made his stomach twist. He looked at her more closely and noticed she was holding something in her hand. He reached out, gently taking it fr
She kissed him... desperately, recklessly... forgetting everything. Forgetting the image of him marrying Jiyeon. Forgetting the pain she buried deep inside. She had to kill her soul to forget. She had to bury her self-respect to give in to his threats and sleep with him... just so she could giv
“You may have forgotten you’re married, Zayren… but I haven’t. I can’t forget that,” she said coldly. He struggled to move, trying to get up, but she raised her hand to stop him. “If you try to stand, I swear I’ll walk out and won’t come back,” she warned. He immediately shook his head and nodde
“Why?!” She shook him... violently, as if she could shake the pain out of him, as if her grip could pull him back from whatever dark place he was spiraling into. Zayren blinked, startled by her presence. By the fire in her voice. By the tears finally threatening to spill from her eyes. He didn’t s
