LOGINSarang’s POV
“He gets bored easily, and once he does, he moves on quickly.” “It’s fine, I guess,” I said, my voice a bit more strained than I intended. “I’m not really the attention-seeking type anyway. If he loses interest, it’s not like it’ll bother me.” Despite my casual response, my mind was racing. I didn’t like attention, true, but I couldn’t deny the fact that Zayren’s interest in me had stirred something within me. As much as I tried to tell myself it would be best to stay away from him, a small voice inside me couldn’t help but crave his attention. I found myself torn between my logical mind and my irrational thoughts. I glanced at Sunwoo, trying to decipher his expression. He looked calm and collected, but there was something in his eyes that hinted at some unknown secret. I wondered if he knew more about Zayren than he was letting on. Still, I decided to keep my reservations and worries to myself for now. Just then, a group of girls walked past us, giggling and whispering. They glanced at me, their expressions a mix of curiosity and envy. They weren’t my classmates though. It seemed the news about Zayren’s interest in me had already spread, and I could feel the weight of their gazes on me. I looked away, adjusting my glasses nervously. Sunwoo followed my gaze, a knowing look on his face. “Don’t worry about them,” he said, sensing my discomfort. “They’re just jealous. They’ve been trying to get Zayren’s attention for ages, and then suddenly, he goes after a quiet girl.” “I have to go.” I had just checked my watch, realizing I was late for something. I turned around when those words reached my ears. “You should come to the party, or else Zayren will be disappointed,” I almost stopped in my tracks, his words ringing in my head. Zayren, disappointed? The thought of Zayren being disappointed because of me sent a strange flutter through my stomach. I had no idea why I found his disappointment so troubling, but I couldn’t shake the feeling. I forced myself to keep walking, not wanting to acknowledge the effect his words had had on me. I had to stay strong and stay away from Zayren, no matter how much the thought of him being upset bothered me. As I left the campus, I couldn’t help but replay Sunwoo’s words in my mind. What if Zayren truly became disappointed if I didn’t show up at the party? Would he care so much that a girl like me didn’t attend? It was a silly, irrational concern, but I couldn’t shake it off. I arrived home and sank onto my bed, my head swirling with thoughts. Should I go to the party, just to ensure Zayren wasn’t disappointed? No, that was ridiculous. I didn’t even know him, and why should I care if he was saddened by my absence? I shook my head, trying to clear my thoughts. I tied my hair up in a messy bun, feeling the weight of my responsibilities on my shoulders. Working a part-time job as a waitress was something I had taken up to help pay for college expenses. I glanced at my watch as I left the house, making sure I didn’t run late for my shift. As I walked to the restaurant where I worked, I couldn’t help but feel a little tired. Working as a waitress was no easy task... between the endless orders and the long hours, my feet would ache by the end of the night. And yet, I didn’t mind it. It was a necessary sacrifice to pay for my education. Once I entered the restaurant, I immediately got to work. Taking orders, serving food, and cleaning up tables, all the while trying to maintain a pleasant smile on my face. It was exhausting work, but I pushed through, reminding myself of the importance of every penny I earned. My eyes widened in surprise when I heard a familiar voice asking for drinks. No, it couldn’t be. As I turned around to confirm my suspicions, my heart sank... it was indeed Zayren. What was he doing here when he was supposed to be at the party? I hesitated for a moment, holding the rag and tray in my hands, unsure of what to do. Zayren looked around and his eyes landed on me, a flicker of recognition dancing in them. He said something to his friend who was with him, and suddenly, he was making his way towards me. My heart pounded in my chest, dreading whatever he was about to say. I tried to maintain a neutral expression, refusing to let him see how nervous I was. As he approached, I forced a polite smile, trying to act professionally. “What can I get you, sir?” I asked, my voice steady despite the whirlwind of emotions inside me. He smirked, his eyes scanning me up and down. I felt annoyed and uneasy under his gaze. “I’ll have a bottle of your most expensive scotch,” he said, his voice low and almost sultry. I nodded, turning around to retrieve the drink he had requested. My heart was still drumming erratically in my chest, the mere presence of his making me feel unsettled. I grabbed the bottle of scotch, noting the price tag. It was a pricey drink, but then again, I shouldn’t be surprised. When I returned with the bottle and glasses, Zayren’s friend was already at the table, eyeing me with curiosity. He poured himself a glass, his gaze never leaving me. “Come sit with us,” he said suddenly, gesturing to the empty seat next to him. I froze, unsure of how to respond. Sitting with them was the last thing I wanted to do. I tried to keep the polite smile on my face as I shook my head slightly. “I have work to do, sir,” I replied, keeping my voice as even as possible. The house was filled with laughter, colorful balloons, and the sound of children running around excitedly. Today was Reynez’s fifth birthday. The entire garden had been decorated exactly the way Reynez wanted. There were blue and white balloons everywhere, cartoon decorations, lights wrapped around the trees, and a huge birthday banner hanging near the entrance. And in the middle of all that happiness stood Zayren, holding a birthday cap in his hand while staring at his son with soft eyes. “Papa, fast…” Reynez shouted excitedly while running toward him. Zayren chuckled before kneeling down and placing the birthday cap properly on Reynez’s head. “There... now my son looks perfect,” he said proudly. Reynez grinned happily before throwing his small arms around Zayren’s neck. Sarang stood nearby watching both of them quietly, and without realizing it, tears slowly filled her eyes. But this time, they weren’t tears of pain. They were tears of happiness. After everythin
“How do you know Reynez's birth date...? I never told you...” Her question instantly froze him because he didn't know how to tell her that he had asked Jaxon to find the hospital where she had delivered Reynez, and that was how he found out the date of his son's birth. “How do you know this?” Sarang asked again, her voice softer this time. Zayren slowly stood up from his chair. “Sarang... I... I'm sorry...” he apologized quietly, only making her more confused. “For what?” she asked while staring at him. Zayren gently cupped her cheeks, knowing he couldn't hide this from her anymore. More than anything, he wanted to share her pain instead of letting her carry it alone. “I know everything, Sarang.” The moment those words left his mouth, Sarang completely froze. Her eyes widened as she tried to understand what he meant, but her mind refused to believe it. How could he possibly know about that? “Jaeyoung told me a few days ago, and I asked Jaxon to confirm the truth...” he fina
It was afternoon when Zayren finally finished his meeting and returned to the office, only to find his wife still busy working. He glanced at the time before walking toward her cabin. He softly knocked on the glass door to gain her attention, and the moment Sarang looked up and saw him, a smile instantly appeared on her face. “You're back. I was waiting for you,” she said while getting up from her chair. Zayren sighed softly seeing how focused she had been on work. “You must be hungry. Let's go eat something.” Sarang nodded immediately, and together they left the office for lunch. “I'm craving something spicy,” Sarang said after looking through the menu, making Zayren look at her in amusement. “I hope you haven't forgotten that I can't handle spicy food,” he reminded her. “I do remember, Zay, but it's just... I really want something spicy today. You can order something else, but I want spicy noodles,” she said while pouting slightly. Zayren chuckled at her expression before n
“The other twin died in the womb and had to be delivered through a C-section.” Those few words were enough to make Zayren loosen his hold on the railing as his legs nearly lost their balance beneath him, but somehow he managed to steady himself. His gaze slowly shifted toward Sarang, who was curled up on the bed. Even from there, he could see her trembling slightly, and deep down, he already knew she had been crying. “Sir... I'm really sorry for your loss.” The call disconnected. For a few seconds, Zayren simply stood there in silence before slowly walking back toward the bed. He sat down beside Sarang carefully and looked at her face, only to find her already asleep with dried tears staining her cheeks. His fists clenched tightly. At that moment, he felt like screaming. Why did it have to be true? When Jaeyoung had told him about his dead child, Zayren had convinced himself it was all a lie. Or maybe he had simply been too stubborn to believe it because somewhere ins
“I want to do this for my husband, so don’t stop me...” Sarang whispered softly, making his breath hitch in his throat. He felt her slowly wrapping her hand around his shaft before leaning down to press a soft kiss against the tip, causing his fingers to tighten around the handle of the chair. His hands ached to grip her hair and thrust into her mouth, but he forced himself to control the urge. He knew it was her first time doing something like this, and the last thing he wanted was to scare or hurt her because, to him, her comfort mattered far more than his pleasure. That’s why he let her take control at her own pace. Zayren kept staring at her while she slowly opened her mouth and wrapped her lips around it, drawing a low groan out of him. Sarang looked up and found him throwing his head back in pure bliss as she slowly took him deeper until he touched the back of her throat. After a few moments, she pulled back and took a deep breath. Zayren watched her carefully as she rolled h
“Find out which hospital and which doctor delivered my wife’s child.”Jaxon nodded but noticed the seriousness on his boss’s face.“What happened, boss? Why do you look so worried? I thought you’d be happy after your marriage,” Jaxon asked carefully, and Zayren sighed while rubbing his forehead.“Jaeyoung told me something, and I need to know whether it’s true or not. I can’t ask Sarang about it, so find out as soon as possible.”Jaxon nodded, hearing the tension in his tone.“I’ll try to find the doctor and the hospital as soon as possible, sir. Don’t worry, it must be a lie,” Jaxon said, trying to reassure him, but Zayren remained silent.Meanwhile, Sarang arrived in front of his company. It was the first day of their marriage, and they couldn’t even spend time together. She felt sorry for whatever had happened in the morning, so she decided to make food for him so they could at least have lunch together.“Welcome, Mrs. Kim,” the receptionist said, walking toward her after noticing
The next few days passed in a blur of wedding preparations and shopping. Zayren seemed more excited than anyone else. He made sure Sarang felt his effort, his remorse, and his determination to make up for the mistakes of his past. He wanted her to feel loved... not just through words, but through a
Once inside, Zayren closed the door behind them, making Sarang frown slightly. “Zay... ” she began, but he didn’t let her finish. He pinned her gently against the wall and pressed his lips to hers... this time, not so softly. Sarang froze as she felt him deepen the kiss. He held her close, his tou
“I... ” she started but couldn’t finish. He smiled faintly. “Are you going to torture me, Sarang? Because I can still see it in your eyes. They still look at me the way they used to.” She swallowed hard. He still knew her too well. “Fine,” he said gently. “I can wait. It’s only a few days until o
Mr. Jang looked at her for a long moment before answering, “Your mother needs you right now,” he said simply, and then left without another word. Sarang frowned, confused. She wanted to ask more, to understand why they had been there in the first place. She had received a call from the hospital th
