Fiona's pov

The door creaked open, a young guard stepped in, holding a silver tray like it was a peace offering. The scent of roasted meat and warm bread drifted into the air. My stomach twisted, half in hunger, half in rage.

“Your meal, Luna,” he said carefully, voice tight.

“I’m not your Luna,” I snapped, standing up from the corner of the room where I’d been sitting, arms chained to the iron loop in the wall.

His eyes flicked down nervously to the shackles, then quickly away.

“Just eat something,” he mumbled, placing the tray on the small table beside me.

I stared at it. Then I kicked the table hard. The tray clattered to the floor, food spilling in all directions.

The guard jumped back.

“Unchain me,” I growled.

He shook his head, backing toward the door. “ I'm sorry, Alpha’s order.”

“Of course it is,” I said bitterly. “He orders. Everyone obeys. Even if it means turning someone into a prisoner in their own skin.”

He hesitated, just stood there staring, pity worn in his expression

  • A DEAL WITH THE ALPHA DEVIL   Chapter Forty four: bring Lila back to me

Fiona's povThe sky was deepening into a dark blue as the sun vanished behind the trees. The wind had grown colder, and the air felt like it was holding its pressure.Logan stood close, his body tense, his eyes always watching the shadows. Lila sat on a moss-covered rock beside the stone circle, arms wrapped around herself. And me?I stood in the middle.Staring at the carvings on the stones, staring at the sky.Waiting for what's next.“What happens if I make the wrong choice?” I asked softly, turning to Caleb. He didn’t answer right away. His eyes were far away, like he was seeing something I couldn’t. When he finally spoke, his voice was calm but sad. “Then the curse will take root again. Stronger. It will feed on pain , yours, Logan’s, your sister’s. Rowan will rise. And the creature guarding the curse… it will no longer wait.”I swallowed the lump in my throat. “So, if I choose love, I might lose freedom. And if I choose freedom.....”“You may lose him,” Caleb finished, nodding t

  • A DEAL WITH THE ALPHA DEVIL   Chapter forty three: never coming to an end

Fiona's pov“Stay behind me,” Logan said softly, his hand reaching out to push Lila and me back. The creature stood at the edge of the trees. Its eyes glowed white, too bright for anything natural. It didn’t blink and it didn’t move but just watched. My heart beat faster. My hands were cold, even though I was sweating. “What is that?” I whispered.Logan shook his head slowly. “Not a wolf. Not human. Something cursed.”Lila clung to my arm, her voice shaking. “It followed Rowan. I heard him call to it. He said it came from the old blood.”I looked at Logan. “Is it after me?”He didn’t answer. He didn’t have to.The thing took one more step forward. Then another. The ground where it walked turned black, like the grass had been burned away.“Run,” Logan said suddenly.I didn’t argue. We turned and fled, deeper into the woods, the creature’s presence cold on our heels. The forest closed in around us. Twigs snapped underfoot. Branches scratched my arms. My lungs burned.Still, we ran.We d

  • A DEAL WITH THE ALPHA DEVIL   Chapter forty two: the heart of alpha

Fiona's povI followed Logan closely, trying to match his steady, purposeful steps, but my heart was pounding like a drum in my chest.Rowan’s face haunted me. The way he’d spun around Lila, his fingers cruel and possessive as they touched her chin, whispering promises and lies like they were love. The way his eyes burned with a fire meant to consume everything around him , especially me.It wasn’t just the fear of what he might do to Lila, but the sick, twisting knot of jealousy that tightened my throat every time I thought of him so close to my sister.Logan’s voice cut through my spiraling thoughts. “We can’t stay here.”His tone was low, serious, sharp with urgency.I nodded, knowing he was right. Rowan wouldn’t give up easily. His thirst for revenge, for the pack, for me , it was all tangled up in his twisted desire to take what he’d lost.“Where will we go?” I asked, my voice barely above a whisper.“There’s a place,” Logan said, glancing over his shoulder to check we weren’t b

  • A DEAL WITH THE ALPHA DEVIL   Chapter forty one: the hunter's moon

Fiona's povThe howl shattered the quiet, a sharp echo bouncing through the trees like a warning. Logan’s body stiffened instantly, his senses stretching to catch every sound, every movement in the dark.“We’re not alone,” he said, voice low and tense, eyes scanning the woods.I swallowed hard, the chill creeping down my spine. The woods that had seemed so peaceful just moments ago now felt like a trap , shadows twisting into threats.Logan’s fingers tightened around mine. “Stay close,” he whispered.I nodded, heart pounding in my chest. The connection between us thrummed, a pulse stronger than fear or doubt. It was a promise: we would face whatever came, together. The footsteps came next. Soft, but many, like ghosts slipping through the underbrush.“Enemies?” I asked, my voice barely a breath.“Hunters,” Logan said grimly. “They’ve been tracking me since I returned to Blackridge.”Hunters. The word sent a cold wave through me. People who wanted to kill the cursed. To end what they

  • A DEAL WITH THE ALPHA DEVIL   Chapter forty: his curse

Fiona's pov I stared at my window, to the moon, I couldn’t sleep. My mind unsettled ,too fast , the thought of everything, Logan’s cold stare, Rowan’s cruel words, and most of all, my sister still trapped somewhere in the dark.I slipped from the stone steps of the Blackridge stronghold, careful to avoid the watchful eyes of the guards. My bare feet pressed softly into the damp earth as I wandered toward the forest edge. The trees loomed tall and silent, their branches twisting like ancient fingers against the night sky.A restless breeze stirred the leaves. I inhaled deeply, the fresh scent of pine and moss grounding me. I needed space. Time to think, to breathe. To face whatever truths I was too afraid to speak during the day.Deeper into the woods, just past a tall oak with bark rough as old leather, a shadow shifted.I stopped, heart skipping.A figure stood still, half-hidden by darkness, their shoulders hunched as if carrying the weight of the world. The silhouette was familia

  • A DEAL WITH THE ALPHA DEVIL   Chapter thirty nine: don't hurt her

Fiona's pov The firelight flickered against the rough walls of the camp, sending long shadows that twisted and triggered, like the restless thoughts in my mind. Every snap and crackle of the burning wood felt like a whisper of warning but I kept my eyes fixed on the figure standing before me.Rowan.He was there, in the heart of the rogue camp, holding my sister Lila close, spinning her slowly around. The chains on Lila’s wrists clinked softly, but her eyes, those soft, frightened eyes never left me. I felt a cold lump settle in my chest. It wasn’t just fear for her, it was more than a fear, smething I hadn’t let myself admit until this moment.Rowan looked different from the boy I once knew. The rogue leader had hardened into a cruel shadow, sharp and dangerous. But when he looked at Lila, and especially when his gaze flickered to me, I saw something that unsettled me more than any threat, something that almost looked like a regret or obsession. He stopped spinning Lila and caught h
