KALMIA’S POV

"She's so rude, my love," I said to him, still trying to comprehend the encounter with Jemima. "I am still shocked by her behavior." I couldn't put it behind me: the way she had spoken to me was as if the words were still clinging to my consciousness like aftertaste.

Arrow had a suggestion. He searched my face for signs of distress, eyes colored with undercurrents of sympathy. Gentle and soft-spoken, he said: "I think we should please call her."

"I am so sorry, my love," I said, shaking my head. "I cannot talk to her. I am just too hurt by the way she spoke." The memory of her words, stupidly put, stung like a thousand angry bees. I couldn't bear to clench my teeth at her."

"My love, perhaps she was out of her mind," said Arrow, trying to calm me. His voice, healer-like in its sweetness, only enhanced my anger and hurt.

"No, no, my love," I replied. "I cannot." I did not want to say more; I wanted to dismiss the whole incident from my thoughts. The image of how Jemita

  • A DEAL WITH THE BILLIONAIRE   CHAPTER 139

KALMIA’S POV As I entered the shop I immediately noticed the smell of fabric and new sewing. It was so bright, still so open. The energy in here was different, though. I experienced a tingling sensation deep within my brain. A pleasant reminder of what I was here for. What I was doing this for. I had built this, I had created something I was proud of. But the past, that was something that would never leave me. That would always be with me. No matter where I went. No matter how hard I tried. And then I saw him. Arrow. Red and swollen eyes showed his sleepless state while his normally broad shoulders drooped in an unfamiliar manner. He looked broken. The aura of the man that I had fallen in love with was starting to fade, leaving the cracked husk behind. I felt a sudden stomach drop while my heart suffered an unwanted ache. I spent countless nights lying awake as I waited for him to appear. Begging him to come to me. Begging him to say that he was sorry. Begging him to take me

  • A DEAL WITH THE BILLIONAIRE   CHAPTER 138

ARROW’S POV The upcoming days passed slowly while I remained in a foggy state. Dawn remained my sole anchor to reality just like it always did. I'd wake up every morning to prepare breakfast and create the appearance of a composed father while internally feeling like I was falling apart. The burden of my actions towards Kalmia became too heavy for me to bear. Each day, it became clearer: without her, my life was incomplete. But that wasn’t the worst part. The devastating realization hit me that my attempts wouldn't make things better. A week had passed since I saw her face and heard her voice yet every text message and phone call to reach her resulted in no response. I couldn’t blame her. But still, it ate at me. My efforts were focused on maintaining smooth business operations. But something was missing. A gap. A hole no one could fill. During Kalmia’s absence I brought in new staff members to take charge of leading the team. The replacements had the experience and motivation nece

  • A DEAL WITH THE BILLIONAIRE   CHAPTER 137

ARROW’S POV The next morning came too quickly. When I woke up I found myself in the same desolate bed where silence weighed down on me like an escapeless burden. The dull light filtering through the curtains caught my attention when my eyes opened but this felt irrelevant. I felt no warmth. I missed her. Kalmia. What I had done kept replaying in my head all night long. What I had said. The morning silence helped me understand how big my mistake was. It hit me harder than anything else. I had told her to pack out. I forced her to leave our home and our shared life behind. It felt like everything I touched crumbled into dust. I scrubbed my eyes to try to get rid of the persistent thoughts. The sensation in my chest felt as if I had been repeatedly stomped on. Her face remained vivid in my memory along with the pain that I saw in her eyes after my accusations. My words spewed out like poison yet the regret I felt turned out to be the true toxin. That was the real poison now. I

  • A DEAL WITH THE BILLIONAIRE   CHAPTER 136

KALMIA’S POV "Wow," I breathed, taking it all in. "This place is incredible." An older woman whose fingers were covered in paint colors came toward us while displaying a friendly smile. "First time here? I'm Marion, one of the co-owners. Please explore at your leisure and reach out if you have any inquiries. Jade said "My friend here wants to dive deeper into fashion design." Her modeling experience has inspired her to explore new creative fields. Marion's eyes lit up with interest. "How wonderful! Modeling provides you with essential understanding about the way garments behave on a person's body. Do you want to pursue formal education or explore fashion design through practical experience? I felt suddenly nervous but excited. "Honestly, I'm not sure. My passion for fashion remains strong although I have never attempted to design anything before. How about I take you on a proper tour of space? Marion gestured toward the workspace area. The educational program integrates weekend

  • A DEAL WITH THE BILLIONAIRE   CHAPTER 135

KALMIA’S POV The week-long guilt and tension that bound itself to me was released by my nod. My body moved together with the beat as the rhythm throbbed inside my chest. I burst into laughter watching Jade dance beside me while my muscles relaxed even more. Without warning a man moved ahead of me and showed a smug smile that did not sit well with me. His smooth voice carried a low tone as he complimented me on my dancing skills. When the man moved closer to me I caught the scent of his luxury cologne. Let’s add some extra excitement to this situation. He grabbed my waist suddenly before I could manage to respond and pulled me nearer to his side. The connection between us was undeniable even though its sudden appearance caught me off guard. Intense music filled the space while vibrant lights danced around us creating a colorful tapestry and I was consumed by the experience. He wasn’t Arrow. That man was not Arrow who broke my heart. He moved his hands from my waist to my hips with

  • A DEAL WITH THE BILLIONAIRE   CHAPTER 134

KALMIA’S POV Jade noticed my hidden turmoil when she straightened her posture and her eyes twinkled with mischief. “You know what?” I looked at her, confused. “What?” She proposed we go to a party saying it with such energy that she seemed convinced it could help me break free from my current sorrow. “It’ll be fun! Just for a little while. You deserve it.” The thought of going to that party filled me with utter anxiety. I didn't want to celebrate. I didn't want people." Finding a quiet nook from where I could unwind in peace, Puntha became my instant goal. "No, please," I continued to protest, shaking my head. "I just don't think I can. I'm just not in the mood right now, Jade.” I just need some time to breathe.” But Jade was relentless. She started talking before I had a chance to put my thoughts together. She stood up from the couch displaying a playful yet determined grin before I could protest again. She gave me a wink of her eye, teasing me, saying, "Too bad, babe,"
