TENSE MOMENTS

REX'S POV

"So who is the guardian?" The nurse asked, holding two files in her hands.

"I am", I said simultaneously with Arianna.

I looked at her in surprise and immediately realized that I have committed a blunder.

She's not my grandma, so why did I indicate as her relative?

I'm not married to Arianna, I will never be.

"He's the guardian. He's the one paying the bills" she whispered, playing with her fingers.

I sighed and grabbed her right hand, making her look up at me.

The nurse calmly smiled at us.

"Who is her blood relative?" She asked calmly.

"I am. I am her grand daughter" Arianna whispered, looking embarrassed.

"Then who is he to you? Because most of her bills were paid by a male, who I assume is him", She asked again, looking up at us.

"He's my boss!"

"I'm her boyfriend!" We simultaneously answered.

Arianna looked at me in shock and I felt like giving myself a sound slap.

Well, I didn't want the gossipers wearing nurse cloaks to carve an image of a mistress for her.
