Katherine's Pov

I round the counter, amidst Ramon telling me to get him another shot. The bar was filled with people and

I snorted, glaring at Ramon who walked to the counter and sat on a chair. "You're acting bitchy tonight, what's up?" He asked, cocking a brow.

I said nothing. Hell! I was tired. I wasn't the bitch who signed up for any of this.

Fuck! I was tired.

"When I talk to you." He mumbled in the deadliest tone he could muster. "You answer me."

"Here's your drink." I passed the drink to him and he grabbed it.

"You're working till midnight, you cรปnt." He glared.

And that was it.

"Look here Ramon," I called him back, and he turned holding the most evil glare I'd ever seen.

That was his problem.

"I'm not your worker. You were just asked to look over the Bar tonight. You can't tell me to do things. This isn't your Bar." I pointed out to him, watching his brows knit to a deep frown and then he walked away.

Good riddance.

"Hey, pretty girl."

"What's your order, I'm fucking busy." I wasn't going to entertain anyone today. I was fucked up tired and the fact that Cray wasn't around to help was devastatingly frustrating.

"Who got you fuzzing?"

"White Margarita, right?" I asked, passing the drink which he grabbed and send me a wink before walking away.

Good riddance, once again.

The bar got unbearably full, I wanted to leave.

To leave for a place without headaches and peace, and my crampy apartment got all that.

I was feeling dizzy, It probably was the alcohol from the wine I had taken earlier or maybe from the smoke of cigarettes that danced in the air... whatever it was got me holding my throat like some bitch drawing some cock down her throat.

My phone lit up and I reached for it but stopped in my track as Jones grabbed the phone immediately.. chuckling like some Joker who had stepped out from the children's museum booklet.

"Give that back, ain't got the time to shuffle." I glared at him.

"Maddy." He read.

If Maddy was calling, that means she had what I wanted.

Earlier that week, I contacted Madison. My bitchy friend who made money seems like something she picks at Snow Hill.

Well, once upon a time I was that little naive girl that lived in Snow Hill. A town just outside the city of New York. Madison was my roommate, we weren't friends but as time went on, we became close. We were both poor but things changed when she began to work in New York.

She would come home at night and she would bring in dollars. Many dollars.

I was so convinced that New York paid a lot, and I decided to give it a try. My first work was awful, with an ugly boss, ugly kids, and ugly pay.

And then I began to work here. Although the bar didn't pay much, it was better than nothing.

"Here." He tossed the phone and I grabbed it before it could hit the counter.

"Fucker."

"Someone is coming." He mumbled, grabbing a glass.

"VIP?"

"If Thatcher called to inform me about this mysterious person, then I'm sure he's VIP." He nodded, as I poured a bottle of Bacardi into his glass.

"And I'm taking care of this person, right?" The words left my mouth like bitter lemon. Although they would give me a few tips.

"Yes." A smirk formed on his face.

Jones wasn't that Handsome but he was good. But there was no way I'd fuck someone from work.

"I think he's here." He dropped the glass. "I'll send them through the back door. Please put that scowl away." He said and brushed his palm on his trousers and walked away.

I was left thinking about this new VIP. The bar wasn't that famous and the VIPs we had were just low-medium businessmen. Yes, I did say low medium.

I signaled to Ramon to come closer and he did.

"Talk quickly." He scowled. "I was two seconds in screwing that cรปnt."

"Well, that cรปnt has to wait 'cause I gotta run some errands to the VIPs," I said and the scowl deepened.

The motherfucker.

"You've got to be kidding." He chuckled. "No, I'm not." I pointed out. "Call Jones to come over, I'm not staying behind that counter." He said.

"Why? Cause it would make you seem a little less than what you are?" I raised a brow. "What the fuck did you just say to me?" He glared and towered over me.

"Calm your horse down, Ramon and come sit behind the counter," I said, pulling off the apron I had on me and throwing it in his face.

A victorious smile formed on my lips, as I rounded the counter.

When I got to the VIP room, Jones was about to leave. He stopped when he spotted me.

"This is Katherine and she will be attending to you." He said and walked away..not after bowing?

Who were these guys?

I gave them the best smile I could muster. If Jones could bow to these people, I better not piss them off. My tip depended on how well I served them.

Was I bowing too?

The blonde winked at me and pressed his firm hands on the couch and leaned forward.

His eyes had those glints..or should I say amusement on them.

"Turn around, sweetie. I wanna see how.. ouch!" He winced and rubbed his arm.

"The lady is not complaining, Enzo. Is she?" She faced me with another wink.

"Don't mind him, Dante acts childish sometimes." The dark-skinned guy who was called Enzo spoke and smiled at me.

I swallowed as my eyes lowered to what was on the table slab. It was a gun. A metal powerful enough to put a man six feet under.

And this man was telling me not to mind? I would mind! I want to mind!

"It won't bite." He chuckled, looking down at the gun.

These men were anything but businessmen.

I heard the door open but I remained rooted.

"The man of the hour." The blonde chuckled.

I was feeling tired! Very tired!

"Are your feet aching, Miss Thawne?" A deep voice snapped me out of my thoughts and I whirled to see the man I feared the most....

Holy cow!

  • A DROP OF BLOODย ย ย Epilogue

Epilogue Always ~KatherineThe world was quiet. Not the absence-of-sound kind of quiet, but the kind where time itself seemed to pause. I stood just beyond the tall white doors of the chapel, my fingers curled gently around the small bouquets, my dress flowing like a sea.Beside me, my three little angels stood tall, or as tall as tiny legs and shoes allowed.Dante adjusted his bowtie for the fifth time. โ€œDo I have to walk slowly?โ€โ€œYes,โ€ I said with a soft smile. โ€œAnd straight.โ€He huffed. โ€œFine.โ€Alessio was clutching a small satin pillow with the rings tied carefully in the center. His eyes were wide, serious, like he understood the weight of the moment even if he was just four. He had always been like that, my little Alexander in a four-year-old body.Emilia, in her tiny version of my dress, beamed up at me with excitement dancing in her eyes.I always make the same dress for us, and we always look too good togeth

  • A DROP OF BLOODย ย ย Joy

Chapter 90 Joy~Katherine It has been a month.A full month since I woke up in that quiet safehouse, with the scent of antiseptic and the pain radiating throughout my whole body. A month since the nightmare ended. And somehow, I was still here. I looked at myself in the mirror, smoothing the fabric of the outfit Iโ€™d spent the last week sewing with the machine Alexander bought for me at home.A big, beautiful, smart working machine, obviously expensive than the one I had bought for the shop. The Velvet and lace material was beautiful as it flowed down my body; it had a V-neck, exposing a little cleavage, but not too bad. Behind me, Alexander stood at the doorway, watching me like he was going to eat me any time soon.โ€œYouโ€™ve been staring for five minutes,โ€ I said without turning around.โ€œCorrection. Iโ€™ve been appreciating.โ€ His voice was low, amused.I caught his reflection in the mirror, smirking, and shook my head.โ€œDon

Chapter 89 Deep~ Alexander It's been two days. Two days of watching over Katherine as she slept. She woke up yesterday but went back to sleep. The sedatives were meant to make her rest...a lot.I sat beside her, one hand loosely holding hers. The IV still trailed from her wrist, and the machine beeped constantly as she inhaled and exhaled. She was fine now. The bruises weren't deep and they were beginning to fade. The doctors said she was fine, and now, we were just waiting for her to come back to me.I hadnโ€™t slept. Not really.Iโ€™d close my eyes and still see her, on that floor...bloodied and weak. And some were even worse. A knife on her belly or a bullet on her forehead.I couldn't close my eyes, not yet. Until she's awake.I sighed and instantly jerked forward when her fingers twitched beneath mine. And again.I sat up straighter, my chest tightening as her lashes fluttered once, twice, then opened. She blinked at the

  • A DROP OF BLOODย ย ย Los Angeles

Chapter 89 Los Angeles ~AlexanderThe city felt different. Los Angeles was also my city, but it's been a long time since I came for a business meeting here.Dante was the front-line Boss here in Los Angeles.I stood at the edge of the pier, alone and clothed in Scarโ€™s clothes. His scent still lingered in the collar, cheap cologne and cigarettes. Enzo, Dante, Matteo, and our men had surrounded the dock from every possible angle.High ground, blind spots, and Hidden vantage points. I cracked my neck and shifted my weight. The cold wind off the Pacific stung my skin, but I didnโ€™t move. After getting the message from Scar's high employer, we had gone through a plan.Thirty minutes passed and yet nothing. Then the headlights. I could see the flash of light from afar until a single black SUV rolled down the long, narrow lane, tires crunching softly against the concrete. It stopped ten feet behind me. I didnโ€™t turn, not yet.The

  • A DROP OF BLOODย ย ย Vow

Chapter 87 Vow ~AlexanderThe safehouse smelled of antiseptic. The sharp sting of it clung to the air, mixing with the faint hum of the heaters. The curtains were drawn, the lights dimmed. I had chosen this place instead of the estate because it was quiet and one could reach us here. Not after what had happened.Three doctors moved quietly around the room. The beeping of the machine they had brought blended with the hush of their voice as they went on and about.I had invited three potential doctors and they all knew what would be at stake if they didn't do their job properly. One checked her pulse, another adjusted the IV running into her arm and the third scribbled notes into a file."Sir?" Dr Steinfeld called out, his gaze lowered."I am listening.""She has a concussion and that's why she bled through her nose. The side of her back was cut open by a sharp object, maybe wood but she's going to be fine. Although she

  • A DROP OF BLOODย ย ย Safe~

Chapter 86 Safe~AlexanderThere was no place left to search. No corner of the city, no back alley, no ruined warehouse that hadnโ€™t been turned upside down. We had burned through Snow Hill twice, and still...nothing.But I couldnโ€™t stop. I wouldnโ€™t stop. Not while Katherine was still out there. All alone and probably....I couldn't fathom the words, nor could I leave my lips.My phone buzzed against my palm, cutting through the silence of the car. Matteoโ€™s name flashed across the screen, followed by a message.'Got something.'A second later, a video feed loaded. My chest tightened as I watched. It was grainy footage from an old CCTV camera. The angle was poor, covering only a block near her shop. For a long moment, there was nothing, just the wind dragging leaves across the pavement. Then, a man appeared. Scar.He walked into her shop after looking around the place.I waited. But he never came back out. One minute...t
