Jasmine POV

I sat at the table by the window and kept looking at the door. I'd almost drowned the glass of water I had requested from the waiter before Blake excused himself to use the restroom promising to be back in a jiffy.

It shouldn't have taken him more than five minutes to ten minutes at least to walk down to the rest room, make use of it, arrange himself, wash up his hands before stepping and walking right back at me.

But as I checked my clock, it was past ten minutes he left. Don't ask me how I knew but I'd been counting. I decided to wait a little bit longer but now it's fifteen minutes.

And I was still sitting alone. My fingers tapped the side of the glass.

I picked up my phone. My thumb hovered over Blake’s name. I was going to call him and ask where he was.

But something outside the glass caught my eye.

A mime stood in the middle of the street. His face was painted white. His lips were black. He wore a striped shirt and a hat. He moved his hands like he was trapped in a

Blake POV I kept my eyes on Daniel. My body was ready to move, ready to step forward if he even tried to touch her again. I'd been looking for a way to teach the asshole a lesson since the stupid thing he did at his gala partyBut then I felt her hand on my face. It was warm and soft and not what I needed at this moment but no matter what I tried to shrug it off, it pulled me out of that moment of pure anger. Without thinking I turned to look at her. She didn’t say much, but she didn’t need to. Her eyes said enough.I took a slow breath. My chest didn’t feel as tight anymore. She anchored me anytime I was going to lose my shit. She always did.I lowered my shoulders a little but didn’t take my eyes off Daniel.Daniel moved his head slightly, looking between the two of us. His tone came slow, like he wanted to make sure every word hit.“I was only talking to Jasmine,” he said. “She can make her own decisions. She doesn’t need you speaking for her.”My hands curled into fists again.H

Blake’s POVI watched her face light up and I swear it made my chest feel warm. Jasmine’s eyes had this shine, like the lights from the city had decided to hide inside them. I didn’t even need to ask if she was happy. I could see it.She looked at me and laughed a little. “If it’s urgent, we can ditch this and go handle your important matters,” she said softly, almost like she was ready to sacrifice this moment for me.I shook my head right away. “No. You are the only urgent thing,” I said. My voice came out firm, but I was smiling. “If my work can’t wait, then let it crash.”Her mouth fell open in shock before she started laughing, covering her mouth. “You’re crazy,” she said.“Yeah, maybe. Crazy about you.”She rolled her eyes but I could see the way her cheeks moved. She was trying not to smile too hard. We kept walking and the closer we got to the Eiffel Tower, the bigger her smile grew. It was like she couldn’t even hide it anymore. When we finally stood in front of it, she sto

Blake’s POVShe looked over her shoulder at me. “You promised we’d go to the Eiffel Tower today. I’m not taking any chances. If you oversleep, I’ll drag you out.”I smiled and sat up. “You’re serious about this.”She put down her brush and stood. “Of course. You’ve been in Paris for how many days now? And you still haven’t taken me there.”“Alright, alright,” I said, raising my hands. “I’ll get ready.”We spent the next thirty minutes preparing. I changed into jeans and a dark shirt while she wore a long, light gown that flowed every time she moved. By the time we left the hotel, the sun was already climbing higher in the sky.We didn’t go straight to the tower. Jasmine insisted we stop at almost every corner.“Look at that café,” she said, pointing to one with outdoor tables and bright red umbrellas. “Let’s take a picture.”I pulled out my phone and took several shots. She made me take more when she didn’t like the angle.“Come on,” I said, “if we stop every two minutes, we’ll get th

Blake's POVWhen we walked into the Louvre, I could see the way Jasmine’s whole face lit up. She didn’t even notice me staring because she was too busy looking around. Her eyes kept moving from painting to painting, from sculpture to sculpture. She moved like she wanted to take in everything at once.I followed her closely. I didn’t even care about the art. I cared about how she looked at it. The little smile that kept pulling at her lips. The way she leaned forward like she wanted to step inside the paintings.“Blake, look at this one,” she said, pointing at a huge painting on the wall.I stepped closer to her. “You like it?”“I love it,” she said softly, her eyes shining. “I feel like I could stand here for hours.”“Then we’ll stand here for hours,” I said. She turned and gave me a quick smile before going back to staring. I stayed next to her, my hands in my pockets, just watching her. I liked the sound of her voice when she asked me to look at something. I liked when she tilted
