Blake’s POV

I looked at her. My heart wanted to pull her close and never let her go, but her eyes told me something else. She looked scared. Tired. I swallowed hard and said softly, “So… you need more time?”

She nodded. “Yes, Blake. Please… just give me time.”

Time.Time. The word hit me like a punch. That word hurt like any other thing. I wanted her now. I wanted to hold her, to come with me, leave the blasted man behind, and never look back and take her far from him, make her mine again. But I also knew I couldn’t force her. I saw the fear in her voice and I knew forcing her would only push her away. And it was the last thing I wanted.

I swallowed hard. “More time?” I asked slowly, just to make sure I heard right.

“Yes,” she whispered again. Her fingers twisted together like she was nervous.

I let out a slow breath. “Alright,” I said, even though it felt like cutting my own skin. “If that’s what you want… I’ll give you time.”

She looked at me then, and for a moment, I saw it—the sam

Blake’s POVI stood at the usual spot, the one where Jasmine and I always met. It was late at night. The sky was dark, but the moon gave enough light to see the empty street. I had been waiting for almost an hour. Every time I heard footsteps or a shadow moved, I thought it was her.But no one came.I checked the time again and again but it kept on ticking without her appearance. Maybe she was not coming. Maybe something had happened. I pushed my hands inside my pockets and looked down the street again. Still nothing.“She’s not coming,” I whispered to myself. My voice sounded broken in the quiet night.I stayed a few more minutes. Hope kept me rooted there. But as time went on, the hope faded. My legs felt heavy and tired from standing in hours waiting for her. My heart hurt. I finally sighed and turned to leave.I had only taken a few steps when a sharp whistle cut through the silence.I froze. Slowly, I turned around.A woman stood a few feet away, her hands on her hips. Her eyes l

Jasmine’s POVI walked back slowly, my steps light as if the ground could betray me. My heart was still racing. Blake’s face lingered in my mind, his eyes, his smile. For a moment, I wanted to turn back, run into his arms, and press my lips to his. But I stopped myself. No. Not now. Not here. I had to control it. If I went back, I might never return. His eyes had lit up when he saw the baby, when he held and cradled him in his arms, when his lips met with his cheeks. He didn't want to let go of the baby and I thought I'd have to plead with him to let go. I reached the back door and slipped inside like a thief. The house was quiet, too quiet, the kind that makes your skin prickle. I held my breath, listening. No sound. Good.I hurried to the bedroom to the crib and placed the baby in it. He was curled and sleeping peacefully, her tiny fist curled to her face. I didn't know what Blake did to him to make him keep quiet. He looked peaceful, and for a second, I smiled. I bent down and ki

Jasmine pov I stood frozen, his words still ringing in my ears. Did he just say he had proof of us being together? I don't know if I should believe his words or just overlook it. But the look in his eyes says he was damn serious about what he just said. “I have evidence.” he repeated again loud and clear as if I didn't hear him the first time. My lips trembled. My heart thudded so hard I felt it in my throat. I shivered from the cold and from the weight of his words. “Evidence?” I whispered. My voice barely came out. “What… What do you mean by evidence ?”Blake didn’t blink. His jaw was tight, and his eyes burned like fire. I could see he wanted to prove to me he meant every one of his words. “You said we weren’t meant to be. You said maybe we weren’t happy. You said maybe the universe didn't want us together which is why we're standing here like strangers. But I’m telling you, that’s a lie. I can prove it that we're meant to be. And we've been together in the past.”“Blake…” My v

Jasmine povThe morning came slowly, but my heart was already racing. I wanted Daniel out of the house. I needed him to leave as soon as possible .He stretched beside me and kissed my cheek like nothing was wrong. “Good morning, baby.”“Morning,” I said softly, forcing my lips into a weak smile. He touched my hair and studied my face. “You look pale. Are you sure you’re okay?”“I’m fine.” My voice cracked a little, but I prayed he didn’t notice. He leaned closer and whispered, “Are you strong enough now? Just a quick one before work.”My stomach knotted into something like disgust. “Daniel…” I pulled the blanket up, trying to hide my shaking hands. “You’ll be late.”He chuckled. “Five minutes won’t make me late.”“I can’t.” I looked down at my hands. “My waist still hurts from the fall. It’s bad today.”He frowned and sat up. “You’ve been saying that every day. Your waist always hurts you even when you don't fall.”“Because it still hurts every day,” I said quickly. “Please, Daniel.

Jasmine’s POVI locked the bathroom door and sat on the edge of the bathtub. My hands shook as I stared at the envelope. It felt heavy even though it was just paper inside. I pressed my lips together, trying to breathe, but my chest felt tight.“This is it,” I whispered to myself. “Just open it.”I tore the top carefully so I wouldn’t make noise. The paper slid out, smooth and cold against my fingers. My heart pounded louder than the sound of water dripping from the tap. I unfolded the paper slowly and read the words.I froze.I blinked hard, thinking maybe my eyes were lying, but the words stayed the same. Daniel is not the father.“No…” I shook my head, my voice breaking. “No, no, no…”I covered my mouth with both hands, feeling my body shake. My eyes burned and tears slid down my face. I tried to stop them, but they kept coming.“Daniel… he lied to me. All this time, he lied.”I let out a shaky breath and pressed my back against the cold wall. Memories flooded my head. The way he a
