ELIANA I stare at the ceiling absentmindedly as my mind wanders around. I can't tell exactly how long I have been awake. There’s no doubt that a couple of minutes have passed by or-hours. I woke up from sleep a while ago. However, I couldn't bring myself to fall asleep again no matter how hard I tried. The weekend is over and our parents are back from the vacation. I have to admit that it was the most awkward weekend of my life. My mother looked happy, proof that she had a good time. They brought us gifts for behaving while they were away. Only the heavens knows how guilty I felt when I received the gifts. I couldn't look my mom straight in the eyes because I was afraid she would see through me… I blow a deep breath when I give it a thought, climbing from down from the bed, grab a clean towel and head straight to the bathroom to freshen up. When I’m done in the bathroom, I change into uniforms and head downstairs for breakfast. My steps are slow as I approach the kitchen, I
ELIANA God, I want to scream to the top of my lungs for help but the voice won't come out. I want to push him away but my hands feel like jelly against his firm chest, my efforts feeble. My eyes shut effortlessly as I fight to keep them open, my mind fogging. He sucks on my lower lip slowly, taking his sweet time before shifting to the upper lip, doing the same thing. I want to bite his lip to teach him a lesson so that he would never try to play the dumb game with me ever again but, as if my lips have a mind of their own, I suck back instead… A moan escapes my lips when he teasingly nibbles on my lower lip and that's when my mind clears up. I pull back, keeping a healthy distance between us, trying to wrap my mind around what just happened. My hand flies to my lips. They're moist and tender, and that's when reality dawns on me. “Wh-what did you do?” I stutter, my voice low but loud enough for him to hear my question. “I was helping you wipe something from your lips. My fing
ELIANA I squint my eyes, slowly adjusting to the morning bright light spilling in my room. A lazy yawn escapes my lips as I stretch. I turn on my back and stare at the ceiling for a minute before climbing from the bed. I take my time to walk to the closet and grab a clean towel then head over to the bathroom to freshen up. Since it's on a weekend, I’m not in a hurry compared to school days. When I’m done in the shower, I change into comfortable clothes. Blue shorts and a white t-shirt, then head downstairs. It's quiet as I descend the staircase and it feels a little awkward. I’m used to waking up to my mother moving around the house on the weekends, replacing the old flowers with fresh ones. However, she isn't around. She's away with uncle Robert for a weekend vacation. This is the first time that Jackson and I will be spending the weekend alone. Just me and him. I gulp when I give it a thought, not used to the thought of it since I’m accustomed to our parents being around
ELIANA Just like any other school morning, I wake up to the annoying siren sound of the alarm, get off the bed and head straight to the bathroom to freshen up. When I’m done in the bathroom, I change into uniforms and head straight to the kitchen for breakfast. A familiar sweet aroma hits my nostrils when I walk into the kitchen, my mouth watering. As if my eyes have a mind of its own, it shifts to that one direction. He's casually leaning on the kitchen counter, his face not giving away that much. The corner of my lips curls into a smile and I give him a small nod, a silent greeting. Jackson nods back at me in understanding, the corner of his lips twitching subtly. At times, Jackson and I don't need words to communicate. A simple gesture is enough. The memories of yesterday night replays in my mind and something unfamiliar curls at the tip of my stomach. We talked for a few more minutes after he explained the relationship between him and Scarlett, then said goodnight to eac
JACKSON I stare at Eliana as she walks down the hallway, her long hair bouncing over her shoulders as she takes long strides, as if she can't wait to get away from me. My jaw clenches..I shift my gaze on Scarlett and she innocently smiles at me. “What did you tell her?” I ask calmly, ignoring her innocent smile. “What? I-I didn't do anything.” It was just a normal girl's talk. Girls always have something to talk about, you know.” I narrow my eyes, not believing a single word that comes out of her mouth. I might not have heard what they were talking about. However, I can tell that it wasn't something to laugh about. Eliana didn't look so pleased. There's no way Eli would look pissed over nothing. She doesn't get annoyed that easily unless someone provokes her. “Did we talk about this and I asked you to stay away from her?” I ask through gritted, running out of patience because we had already talked about it. I remembered clearly asking Scarlett to stay away from Eliana whe
ELIANAA FEW DAYS LATER It's the usual morning rush in the hallway. Zoe and I talk as we navigate the busy hallway.A few days have passed by since the last encounter with Ethan. He has never approached me again. I think the threat worked perfectly fine. And I wasn't even joking when I told him that the next time he approaches me, I would take action. Sometimes I feel his gaze on me, however, I never bother to look his way. The only time that I would look in his way is during the third game.Heaving a deep sigh, I push the thoughts at the back of my mind, turning my attention to Zoe beside me.She has been talking about Nikolai being an asshole and over-protective, leaving her under the guidance of Marco every time he's out of town taking care of some business. I listen to Zoe as she continues to grumble, giving my advice when necessary.“I miss the old days when Nikolai and I would play around, have a proper meal and talk for hours. It feels like that part of him died along with our
ELIANA My phone on the dressing table dings, pulling my mind back to the present and I turn to look at it, a message notification flashing across the dark screen. “Ready?” I gulp when I read the message, not expecting him to text so fast. Slowly, I raise my head to gaze at my reflection in the f
ELIANA The day and time that we have all been anticipating for all kinds of reasons is finally here.I take a deep breath to try and calm my racing heart as I watch the players warm up on the rink. Zoe senses my nervousness and she reaches for my hand, giving it a gentle squeeze. I turn my head to
ELIANAIt's quiet on the balcony, the gentle breeze brushing through my hair as I enjoy the calmness and the beautiful view of the backyard and the pool…A shadow falls over me from the right, snapping me back to the present and I frown, I was sure I was alone. I turn my head slowly, my breath catc
ELIANA It's noisy and crowded as we walk down the hallway, most of the students happy that the school day is finally over. Well, I’m one of them because today felt longer and exhausting from the endless lectures and quizzes. I heave a deep sigh when I give it a thought.. “I swear Mr. Thomas did
