Clash With Alicia At The Café

Queenie decided to go first meet Jessica before going to Glamour Entertainment. When she got outside, she met a man putting on a suit, patiently standing beside a black Bentley.

When he saw Queenie, he walked up to her and bowed down a little. "Good morning, Mrs. Verlice. My name is Vincent and I was tasked to take you anywhere you wish to go. In other words, I'm your assigned driver."

Queenie looked back at the car and nodded, but she had a complaint to make. "Why does it have to be such an eye-catching model?"

Vincent glanced back at the car and grimaced. "Mr. Verlice knew you'd say such, which was why he gave this Bentley. It is, in fact, the lowest model in his garage."

Queenie clicked her tongue. "Rich people sure know how to spend money. I'm going to meet a friend in a café."

"Okay, ma'am." Said Vincent as he walked back to the car and pulled the door open. "Please."

It had been a long time since she was treated in such a respectful way and as such, her cheeks burned with shyness.

"Thank you. We are heading to Latte Café." She instructed when she got inside the car.

Vincent nodded, started the car and bolted out of the compound. It took them five minutes to get there.

When she got out of the car, she noticed Vincent following behind her and turned to look at him.

"It's okay. You can wait for me in the car. I'm just going to meet a friend."

Vincent shook his head and lowered his head respectfully. "I was told to follow you everywhere. If I let you out of my sight, I'm afraid I won't live to tell the tale of what happened."

Queenie's eyes softened as she nodded. "Sure, come with me."

This was the soft, pleasant voice that Alicia who was shopping seated a little farther from them, heard and turned around.

When she saw it was Queenie with a handsome man, she grabbed her purse and got up, ready to cause some trouble.

"Well well well, look who we have here. I never expected to see or hear from you again, Queenie Knight."

She said loudly. Her voice caught the attention of the people in the café just like she intended.

Then she looked towards Vincent, then back at Queenie.

"Is this another unfortunate man you've decided to latch onto and put an end to his lineage?"

Before Queenie could say anything, Vincent stepped forward and shielded her from Alicia.

"I'm sorry, Ms, but talking bad about her is something you're not permitted to do."

His words were enough to make her lose her cool, but considering the sisters who had come with her, she decided to play with him a little bit. After all, she was the wife of Velon Aspen, even if she got into trouble, he'd sure make a way our for her.

"Ah, a protective one." She chuckled, then looked past him to meet Queenie's eyes. "I see you've gotten yourself the right catch. But believe me, no one will stay forever with a barren woman!"

Although her words made some women in the café uneasy, they had no choice than to swallow back their words and act nonchalant to the brewing disaster.

"I don't think there's any reason for us to exchange words with each other, Alicia. As someone who married a man of the upper class, I expected you to have learned some good morals. It's a pity low-lifes will always be low-lifes and people like me, even though barren, will always make people like you fidget." Queenie finally retorted.

Alicia didn't find it offensive, instead, she clicked her tongue with a small smile, intent on leaching onto her words. "You're a divorced woman because you're barren. It'll always remain that way!"

Everyone shuddered at Alicia's words, their perspective of her being kind with words taking a drastic turn.

"I've been waiting for you." A tired voice sounded from behind Alicia.

When she turned around, she met a full length blonde walking in with two two men following behind her.

When she got to them, her aura and the arrogant look in her eyes, hinted to Alicia she was probably someone of importance.

Her suspicion was confirmed when the manager of the café, Finn Lei, rushed down flustered.

"What's happening here?" He asked no one in particular. However, one of the waitresses stepped forward, intending to explain.

Her eyes met with that of Alicia's coincidentally and the latter got the message. Obviously, Queenie was someone that once had power, but had lost it.

Doing what Alicia wanted was equivalent to paving a way to success for herself. Ruining a nobody's image didn't sound like a bad thing to do. Especially to a waitress who had done it a lot of times.

"Welcome, Mr. Lei. The person constituting the nuisance is no one else other than that woman there. Ever since she walked in with her... Boyfriend, she had made it a point of duty to pick on Mrs. Verlice. We had let them be as it was none of our business. However, we realized how intense it was when that woman accused Mrs. Verlice of stealing her husband and calling her a lowlife."

The waitress wasn't scared of the surveillance camera being checked as she knew Finn would never check it. After all, if he embarrassed Alicia, he'd be putting the café on the line as Velon would be likely to retaliate.

Finn looked towards Queenie and Vincent. She felt Vincent looked really familiar, but couldn't wrap his finger on where he had seen him before.

Nonetheless, he didn't fail to butter up to Jessica who had a small smile on her face. "Ms. Bayne, what do you think about this matter?"

Jessica raised a brow as her eyes met with that of Queenie. Then she turned to the manager.

"I say we punish those who lied and constituted the nuisance."

Hearing him, Finn, Alicia and the waitress breathed out a sigh of relief unaware of the impending danger.
