8. Thoughts

Not knowing when he had fallen asleep, Grayson woke up to the sound of his ringtone which blared loud in the air. His brows furrowed to form an arch as he sat up and stretched his hands towards the side table to retrieve his phone.

Letting out a sigh, he swiped through the screen as the caller ID showed that his father was the one calling.

"You're fifteen minutes late, Son. And you know I'm never pleased when one doesn't keep to the exact time of their appointment." The deep, baritone voice of his father made him dart his eyes to the square wall clock, adjacent the room door.

He was indeed late.

"I'll be there before an hour." He nonchalantly responded before ending the call.

His parents had asked him to come home for am important discussion few days ago and he promised to do so, for his mother's sake. He already knew why they were asking to meet with him.
