The house greeted her with it's usual gesture, the silence resonating more than it had ever done. Her fingers brushed against the wooden lintel as she made her way into the sitting room, echoes of her footsteps thrown back at me with every step I took.

Unsure if she was still in control of my body, she drifted further into the living room until she was well past it.

Yara stepped onto the wooden staircase, my hand finding the banister as she moved up. Even with the left banister supporting her weight, she felt like she would trip at any moment and she would have grabbed onto the other banister if it wasn't miles away from my reach.

_Fucking exaggerated staircase._

After what seemed like ages, she found her way to her mother's study. She dropped down on the rotating chair in the middle of the room, feeling the leather crease under my weight. The impact caused her to spin around for a second before the chair came to a standstill.
