I stretch in my new bed and reach over to turn off my alarm. It was the first day at my new high school. My mother found her second chance mate a couple of months ago and for her to be with him... We, my mother, my little sister, and I had to move to his pack, the Lupin Nightstalker pack.

My new stepdad Philip Lupuslyall is the Beta, my mother is Fillippa Ethelwulf, my little sister is Charmine Ethelwulf and my name is Annalise Ethelwulf, we were one of the high warrior family in the Battletail Warrior pack. Our pack was, as it’s name suggests, a warrior pack. Everyone trained, including the young pups, and once trained, they were transferred to other packs that needed warriors. That was how my mother met Philip as he was there in place of Alpha Remington to oversee the final assessment of the warriors our pack was sending his.

So we have spent the last few months moving from our pack to his. I had though that I would hate him for trying to take my fathers place not only for my mother but for me, however, Philip has been a wonderful male and he doesn’t seem to be not that much different from my father.

I smile and get out of bed, have a quick shower, and put on my school uniform. I bounce down the stairs in our two-story villa and enter the kitchen to find my sister Charmine sitting at the kitchen counter, my mother making waffles and Philip is standing behind her with his arms wrapped around her waist. He was trailing kisses along the back of her neck, making her giggle.

I didn’t take my fathers passing well, and the Doctor in my old pack gave me some medication to help settle my emotions. So I watch them for a moment with a smile and thank the moon goddess for giving my mother a second chance at happiness. When it looked like it was going to go further, I cleared my throat and entered, walking over and giving them both a kiss each before picking up a waffle and heading out the door toward the high school.

Other then a small amount of anxiety, I am a confident 16 year old female, with shoulder length blonde hair, blue eyes that turn violet when my wolf Misty is present, I got her early at the age of 12. I have an average build, but I have a little more muscle than most females my age as I had been training with my father since I was 5 years old. I am excited but a little nervous, as starting school in the middle of the semester is a lot to ask anyone.

Now I wasn’t over popular at my old school but I wasn’t picked on either. My first day went well. I made some friends, including the Alpha’s daughter Juliana Remington, and I met her brother, the next in line for Alpha Randall Remington even though he had his own friends.

Over the next few weeks, Doctor Amity Kassidy changed my medication to something a little lighter, and that had just a few extra vitamins that I took just before bed. The next two years then seem to go by in a blur, and before I know it, I am turning 18 tomorrow.

I had tried to convince both my mother and step-dad to allow me to skip school for the day so that I could go to the mall and find a nice dress for my birthday party tomorrow night at the packhouse. However, they refused and said I had to wait until after school.

The next morning, when I arrived at school, my friends were all waiting at the gate to greet me and wish me a happy birthday. By the end of the day, I had to ring Philip to come pick me up as I couldn’t carry everything I was given for my birthday. After Philip had taken me home and we had emptied the car, he then took me to the mall to pick out my dress for the evening.

Later that evening, when I was ready, Philip drove me over to the packhouse and dropped me off. I met up with Juliana, and we started to celebrate. About halfway through the night Alpha Remington stopped the music and gave a speech congratulating me on my birthday and presented me with a beautiful wolf necklace, one given to each female member of the Lupin Nightstalker pack only mine seemed a little different and it seemed to heat and then settle once he put it around my neck.

However, I don’t get to dwell on it as Alpha Remington allowed the party to get back into swing I smelled the most intoxicating scent I had ever come across it was like fresh rain and pine needles. I followed the scent through the crowd and then stopped in the middle of the room.

Everyone seemed to stop around me, and the room suddenly went quiet as they stepped back, forming an aisle, I am surprised when I saw who is standing with his back to me at the other end. I watch with excitement and nerves as his head raises, and he takes a deep breath in letting it out in a growl as he turns around and looks at me.

I bite my lower lip as he then walks over until he is standing in front of me, I take a sharp breath in as he reaches up and touches my cheek sending little sparks of electricity running through me. Randall leans in and whispers,

“I was hoping that you were my mate…”

Randall then closes the last of the gap between us and places a soft kiss on my lips. Everyone around us cheered as he deepened the kiss, wrapping his arms tighter around me. When he finally pulls back we are both breathing heavily, he smiles and I bite my lower lip, he then frowns at me before the music starts up again and we start dancing together for the rest of the night.

Once the party is over, Randall takes me up to his room on the Alpha floor of the pack house where we marked each other, and he claimed my virginity as we completed the mating. We finished out the school year, and then over the next two years, while I learned what I needed to do to become Lupin Nightstalker’s Luna, I also studied to become an Accounting Lawyer. Getting my dream job of working for one of the biggest Law and accounting firms Nightmoon & Co. My life looked to only get better…
