Yennifer
"You're sassy. I like it," he complimented, dipping his head lower to breathe me into his lungs, his lips brushing the soft skin along the slope of my neck. I don't know why, but his compliment made me light up. Normally, my sassiness was frowned upon and discouraged. It happened enough I tended to tamp down on that particular characteristic.
Pulling me tightly against his chest, he shifted the dynamic of the dance. He led me in a series of sensual salsa dance moves which did nothing to dampen the fire building in my veins. I always thought professional dancing was like foreplay: sensual and spiritual. I had taken some dancing lessons here and there in the hopes my partner in life would indulge in my fantasies of spontaneously dancing in the rain or whenever the mood struck really.
Unfortunately, Ron hadn't been much for dancing.
This stranger was wreaking havoc on all my senses, making me feel every emotion more deeply than I ever had. It was exhilarating and invigorating. His gaze caught and held mine with an intensity I had never seen before. It seared me, especially when his gaze moved down my body appreciatively while I made some spontaneous, improvised dance moves. He made me burn with a desire no one ever made me feel before.
I bit down on my bottom lip, overcome with lust, and saw the instant darkening in his eyes as he focused on my mouth. I could see the desire to kiss me clearly in his gaze.
When we came chest to chest, the song ended. We stayed pressed together intimately, our chests heaving, the air fairly sparking around us from our obvious attraction. His large, warm hands rested around my waist, pulling us closer. My arms wound around his neck, my fingers delving into his silvery-blond hair, silently beckoning him closer, while I slowly lost myself to his beautiful stormy gaze.
We leaned into each other, drawn like moths to a flame. Both of us lost in a spell neither of us could escape. One of his hands trailed up the slope of my back before cupping the back of my neck, drawing me further into him. Those captivating eyes filled with need dropped to my parted lips.
Framing his face, I closed the space between us. I pulled him into a searing kiss.
It was instantaneous. The fire. The passion. It washed over me in waves as our lips fell open and our tongues caressed. His thumbs traced paths down my neck and rested along my throat, while his fingers curved around the back of my neck, making a necklace out of his hands. A deep moan was ripped from me, and I wanted nothing more than to fall into bed with this man, knowing I would go places no one else had ever taken me before. And, I was sure, no one else would ever be able to take me again.
This stranger, whoever he was, was as close to a soul mate as I would ever come.
I didn’t know what the future held. I couldn’t know or control what fate had in store.
I could, however, indulge in him just for tonight.
My heart wasn’t ready for another relationship. I was too broken and vulnerable to jump into another relationship, especially one that was so intense.
“Come with me?” he panted against my lips, pulling just far enough away so he could ask the question. His passion filled gaze holding mine.
“Yes.” I agreed, knowing it was the liquid courage talking.
His rakish grin sent shivers of anticipation down my spine. “Go tell your girls you’re leaving,” he encouraged. I did, and they all cheered me on when he pulled me out of the bar and into the brisk night air.
We got into his sporty looking vehicle and sped off into the night.
I should have asked him where he was taking me. Hell, I should have gotten his name before we’d left. Going off like this, with a stranger, without letting anyone know the details was dangerous and risky. Though, it added to the allure of it all.
My gaze raked over him as he drove just out of town.
“Keep looking at me like that, lapochka, and we won’t make it to the house before I’m buried inside you.”
Heat washed over me, my cheeks blazing red as his gruff words hit home somewhere inside of me. “What does lapochka mean?” I blurted.
“Lapochka means sweetheart,” he readily supplied. “I’m Nikolai, by the way.”
It was a name that sounded so familiar... “Yen,” I quickly introduced myself, forcing those long-ago memories to stay at bay. I didn’t want to ruin the night. “Where are you taking me?” I asked after a short pause.
“To my home.”
I sent a message to Lucinda and Charlotte, telling them who I was with and where we were going just in case this ended badly. I didn’t think it would, but a girl could never be too careful.
It was a moonless night tonight, which meant the darkness was endless outside of the city. There was little I could see beyond the headlights. That’s why, when Nikolai pulled up to a fancy wrought iron gate, it took me a moment to process where we were.
My heart thundered in my chest when I realized we were at the De’Aubery Estate. A haunted estate that made previous owners flee.
Recently, it had been bought by a Russian millionaire…
My gaze slid over to Nikolai, unsure of how I felt about the correlations I was making.
Nervous energy gripped my chest. I wasn’t sure if I was more unsettled by the haunted estate, or by who this man was.
Don’t over think this, Yen. I told myself. It’s just a one-night stand. Nothing more. You will probably never see him again after this. Let loose. It’s okay to do that every once in a while, I reminded myself.
Instead of pulling up to the front veranda, Nikolai followed a small, paved pathway along the side. He stopped next to a stone staircase leading up to the second floor.
With nervous anticipation, I took Nikolai’s outstretched hand and followed him up to the second floor. He ascended ahead of me, and I couldn’t help but notice how nice his ass looked in his jeans. Most women would die to have a bubble butt like it. Not to mention, he had that inverted triangle body shape with the droolworthy muscles to go with it. He wasn’t stacked, per-se, but the definition was there.
Doubts and insecurities tried to cloud my mind when we started to walk around the upper wrap-around porch. Thoughts of my weight and how anyone could find me sexy and attractive. They were demons I often fought with.
Shaking my head, I cleared my mind.
Tonight, I didn’t want to think. I just wanted to feel. And for some reason, I felt I could throw caution to the wind and take the lead with this stranger.
Maybe that was part of the allure of a one-night stand. You could be a bit wilder and freer without having to face them again.
Tugging his hand, I waited until he paused to face me before I struck.
My hands landed on his chest and pushed him roughly—albeit a bit rougher than I was intending—against the wall. Though, he didn’t complain as his hands gripped my hips, pulling us flush together below the waist in a welcoming gesture. As if he didn't mind me taking the lead. I felt his arousal pressing firmly against my pelvis while my lips descended on his skin. My mouth had been watering to taste him on my tongue since our dance at the bar, curious to know if he tasted just as good as he smelled. This close, his heady aroma bombarded my senses.
My tongue licked across the vein in his neck, tasting the saltiness there. A moan was ripped from him, and I smiled, feeling far more confident, and possibly empowered, by his response. His cock strained against his jeans while I continued my assault on his neck, traveling up to his ear before capturing his mouth in a searing kiss. All the while, my hands roved over his body before dipping below his shirt. Splaying my hands across his stomach, I felt the hard ripples and plains of his abs against my fingertips.
I didn’t know what it was about this man, but I felt different when I was with him.
An appreciative growl reverberated through his chest when I sucked his full bottom lip into my mouth and gently bit.
That was the turning point. Nikolai did a fancy maneuver, swapping our positions and eliciting a surprised squeak from me. One hand stayed at my hip while his other tangled in my hair, pulling so he could tip my head back and deepen our kiss. It was fiery and wild, barely restrained.
His hooded gaze met mine, and in their depths, I saw the galaxy. The depth of adoration and instantaneous love I saw shining back frightened me.
I had never had anyone look at me like that before.
It made me want to run, and at the same time, it made me want to fall into his arms and wish for the best.
The hand at my hip trailed lower until it reached the edge of my black, skater skirt, startling me back out of my thoughts. His fingers flirted just below the hem, stroking my thighs teasingly sending bolts of fire through my body. His fingertips felt the silky thigh highs I wore and the garter belt that held them in place.
There was the slightest shift in the intensity of his kiss that took on a dark and savage edge. I hadn’t viewed him as dangerous up until that very moment. Like he was barely holding onto his control.
Thoughts of this other, darker side were ripped away as I about melted when he pressed his palm against the very center of my core, the palm of his hand grinding into my clit. “You’re dripping wet, just for me,” he growled appreciatively against my ear while a few of his fingers teased the very center of me through the thin layer of my panties.
My eyes rolled back as I pressed my head against the wall, an appreciative moan slipping from my parted, panting lips as I ground into his hand unabashedly. A soft cry escaped when he slid a few fingers inside me and curled them in a ‘come-hither’ motion.
Without warning, he was kneeling in front of me. Hooking one leg over his shoulder, he opened me up to him. My hands buried in his short, soft hair right as he pulled the scrap of lace out of the way and devoured me like a starved man. It took seconds before I fell apart and screamed his name. I had never come so hard, or so quickly before. It was like he knew exactly how to play my body.
That was only the beginning of his sexual prowess that night. He swept me up into his master suit where our clothes went flying off. When we finally fell into his bed, spent of all our energy, I told myself I would survive this earth shattering, soul searing experience with my head held high.
We were just two lost souls, two strangers that had come together to share this one night with no strings attached. I had no right to ask for more. Especially when all I had to offer was a broken heart and shattered faith.
Nikolai
In the early morning hours, as dawn kissed the sky, I leisurely walked the upper, wrap around porch, and watched while an Uber took Yen away.
I didn’t want her to leave.
Not after the earth shattering, soul searing experience we shared last night.
I knew Yen felt the connection, she was just afraid of it. Especially since she was fresh out of a bad relationship. Her heart was broken, her confidence shattered. It hadn’t been hard to see the brokenness buried deep in those gorgeous, forest green eyes of hers.
There were demons she was fighting and I wanted nothing more than to fight them with her. To fight them for her.
She was my true mate. Her body, her heart and soul matched perfectly in every way with mine.
It was agonizing granting her wish to let her go. To not pursue her while every cell in my body, along with my wolf, willed me to change her mind. I knew I could. It would have been easy. We were soul mates, after all, and it wouldn’t have been difficult to convince her.
But, it wouldn’t have been right had I done that.
Our foundation would have been broken from the start, and I wasn’t about that.
Yen told me point blank last night, while we were snuggled together under the sheets, that she wasn’t ready for another relationship.
I was willing to give her time to heal. I was willing to give her space to find herself again.
When the time came, I would claim her.
Yennifer 16 years priorMy parents and I lived in sunny California. It was a beautiful place, especially here on the beach. I was out of kindergarten for the summer, and we were staying at our beach house for a few weeks. We'd had a picnic, built a sandcastle, and dad taught me how to surf. Mom walked up and down the beach looking for seashells and other little trinkets with me. And now, I was just running back and forth squealing my fun as the waves came washing up the shoreline while the sun started its descent towards the horizon. It was during this time that I noticed two other children around my age just a little ways down the beach. They were playing quietly and noticed my stare. When they looked at me, I waved to them. Running over I introduced myself and asked if they wanted to play. The girl with the beautiful blond hair, hazel eyes and a kind smile said she would. The boy that was with her was a little older and taller. He had short, light blond hair with a silver hue to
Yennifer I lived only a few blocks away from Bourbon Street. It was easier to just walk there instead of fighting traffic for a parking spot. "Hey girly!" Lucinda called out when she spotted me in front of our favorite bar. The others turned towards me, and we greeted each other. Lucinda gave me a big hug, her shoulder-length blond hair curled and pinned away from her face. She wore a cute little white number with a bright pink sash reading 'BRIDE'. She was gorgeous with her large brown eyes. Around her neck was a pink plastic shot glass that encouraged others to buy her drinks. I grinned and rolled my eyes. She was definitely the party enthusiast in our group. "Well, don't you look sexy," Charlotte complimented, coming in for a quick hug. She was tall. With natural dark hair and light blue eyes. She had curves for days and was--in my humble opinion--the most beautiful out of the group of girls there. She was dressed in a flashy micro mini dress. She had on killer wedge heels; her h
Nikolai I couldn't believe I had run into Yen again. It had been just a little over a month since our one night stand. Running into each other seemed so out of the blue.It felt like fate was meddling about, and I wasn't sure how I felt about it. Though, tonight, there had been a noticeable difference about Yen that I couldn't put a finger on. Not only was she extremely nervous, there had been a different smell and aura about her. Out in the middle of Bourbon Street, it had been hard to focus solely on her with the hundreds of other people moving around us. Whatever was going on with her had made me uneasy. Perhaps I could find out where she worked, or learn her routine and run into her again when there were less people about? That way I could assauge my preconceived fears. Aaron, my beta, bumped shoulders with me and I chuckled at his smirking smile. While I was worried about Yen, it had been fun teasing her. My pack and I were rather tight and loved to have fun. I was glad they
YenniferWe partied all night, closing down the bars as we went. Most of the girls either called an Uber, or had their partners come pick them up.At the end, it was Lucinda and I making our way back to my house. One of her arms was wrapped around my shoulder while one of mine circled her waist. She was completely waisted, bobbing and weaving down the sidewalk as we slowly made our way through the residential streets.“Oh Yen, I had a blast tonight. Thank you!” she gushed, pushing into me, forcing us off balance.“No worries,” I replied through gritted teeth, trying to keep us from falling.“Oh, I love you!” she sighed, planting a wet kiss on my cheek. “You wanna know a secret?”“Sure.”“We all think you’re the lucky one.”I was surprised by this admonition. Though, to be honest, it was probably the alcohol talking. “How so?”“You’ve got it all. You’re smart. Beautiful. Kind. You have fucking fabulous curves and an ass all of us would give our left titties for.” A blush crept up my ne
Yennifer I glanced over my shoulder and saw Pete peeking over it. He genuinely looked afraid. "You good?" I asked, facing him, curious as to why he was scared of this wolf-dog who was kenneled and muzzled. He nodded quickly, though he seemed to have a hard time finding his voice. "Yep." He squeaked. "Hmm." I studied him a moment longer before turning back to the growling wolf-dog. "You, be nice." I told him sternly. Those intense and intelligent eyes made contact with mine. I couldn't explain it, but it felt like he not only understood me but could see straight to my soul with those damn eyes. With a disgruntled groan, he stopped and laid down with a big huff. Interesting. Such personality I hadn't ever seen in a dog before. "Well, I think I'll just head on out." Pete stated, turning to leave. “I owe you lunch. Why not stay and eat?” "I can take a rain check for lunch." He stated, slowly backing away from the kennel. It was like he was scared to turn his back on the creature.
Nikolai I turned my nose into her stomach, not quite believing what I was feeling. I was in shock. This could be my child growing inside of her. It was both a happy revelation and an anxious one. If it was my child, she would need my help because werewolf fetuses weren’t normal. Different kinds of complications tended to arise when a mortal carried a werewolf child. I couldn’t keep my distance now. Shit! This wasn’t supposed to happen! Not like this. I wouldn’t be able to keep her hidden from Desdemona for long, which meant she would be placed directly in the line of danger. Exactly where I didn’t want her to be. Especially now that she was carrying my child. Yen’s hands stroked my ears soothingly, pulling gently on them. She sighed when she noticed I was poking at her abdomen. “Can you sense him?” she whispered. “I’ve heard dogs can sense when someone is pregnant.” One of her hands left my head and placed it over her stomach tenderly. The bright smile that lit her face slo
Nikolai We hurried back into town and met up with the rest of the pack. /"What did you see?"/ I asked Marcus. /"I saw a demon luer a young woman into the shadows over there,"/ he started, nodding his head towards the alleyway between the two buildings. It was dark and foreboding. A natural spot for demons to lurk. From what we had seen so far, and from what Pete told us, Desdemona had recruited demons to hunt for her. It seemed odd she would rely on others to bring her sustenance instead of hunting herself. Could she be injured and recovering? She had been in purgatory for decades, and the archangels would have only given her enough sustenance to not die. Maybe she was too weak to hunt yet? /"When I snuck up to investigate, to see what he was doing to the girl, I noticed the second demon. They put the woman in a trance and one picked her up. They spoke little but did mention it was nice hunting her prey, torturing them before giving them to Desdemona and then feeding on the bodies
Yen There was a lot to do, this week which meant the days went by quickly. Far quicker than I wanted it to. I dreaded the weekend, when I would come face to face with Ron for the first time since our breakup. I really didn’t want to ever see him again. At least not at such an occasion of love and happiness. It would just remind me of the dreams and happiness that had once been in my own reach, and was heartlessly ripped away by his infidelity. Not to mention, I still didn’t know if I carried his child or Nikolai’s. Which made it all that much harder. Honestly, I wasn’t sure who I would rather have as the father: a cheater or a complete stranger I knew nothing about. I met Char and the other bridesmaids in the middle of the week for the final fitting of our bridesmaids’ dresses. Thankfully, that went smoothly. I wasn’t sure if I could have gracefully handled any hiccups now. When Friday came around, I took a much-needed day off. As per my request, Peter hadn’t booked any readings
