Chapter 4

Author: Tranquil Phoenix
Three days later, Whitney was discharged, and Summer came to pick her up, but Henry was nowhere to be seen. "Where's Henry? When did he become such a heartless man? I remember how a chef once forgot that you were allergic to peanut butter and added some into your food. It nearly triggered your allergic reaction, and Henry dashed into the kitchen to beat up the chef…"

Whitney stopped her. "That's all in the past."

"Fine. I guess I should feel happy that you've let all of this go. Why don't I take you to Blue Jazz tonight to watch dancing male models as a reward?"

After handling the discharge procedures, they bumped into Lexie paying hospital bills. Summer could not help saying sarcastically, "Guess whose money she's spending? It must be Henry's. You haven't even gotten a divorce, and his mistress is already spending money from your joint account…"

Someone nearby heard Summer's words.

"That woman is a mistress?"

"I wouldn't have guessed. Women nowadays have no moral compass, do they? They're so willing to throw themselves at married men shamelessly nowadays."

"No wonder her son is in the hospital. She deserves it for being someone's mistress."

"If I were that man's wife, I would freeze all our accounts to stop that mistress from spending a cent."

Lexie heard what was being said and turned to look at Whitney while red in the face. "Why would you get your friend to spread stories everywhere about me being a mistress, Mrs. Jordan?"

"Well, you are someone's mistress." Summer almost burst out laughing. "Why won't you admit it when you are one?"

Lexie's eyes filled with tears. "How can you do this to me?"

"Wow, she's crying. That little vixen sure can act."

"Stop it, Summer." Whitney halted Summer without glancing at Lexie. "Take me home to change my clothes and come with me to Blue Jazz tonight to have a few drinks."

Whitney leaned against the couch at Blue Jazz as she watched the men and women dancing on stage, feeling at a loss for some reason. She was reminded of the night of her bachelorette party when she had a little too much to drink, and someone tried to pick her up.

She panicked, having no idea how to handle the situation, and that was when Henry suddenly appeared, kicking the man to the side. "You must be tired of living for trying to pick up my wife. Listen up, everybody! The woman next to me is Whitney Sands, and she's the wife of Henry Jordan, who is me! Anyone who dares lay a finger on her will get a beating from me."

Under the neon lights, Whitney found herself only having eyes for the man in front of her, and she quietly swore to love him for the rest of her life. Yet, only three years had passed, and…"

"Hey, Whitney, what are you thinking about? Drink up! Please tell me you aren't thinking about Henry. If you still have feelings for him, take the initiative to snatch him back! Henry must still love you. He's just blinded by the little vixen for now. Just put on a miniskirt and cover yourself with chocolate sauce tonight, and he'll be eating out of your palms literally. "

"Cover myself with chocolate sauce?" Whitney laughed. "I think that might work on someone else."

"What?" Someone did not catch her reply clearly. "Are you going to cheat on him?"

"Now that everyone is here today, I have something to announce." Whitney raised her glass and shouted, "I, Whitney Sands, will divorce Henry Jordan in three days! After that, I'll marry another man, and on the day I'm officially married, I'll be expecting all of you to celebrate the day with me!"

Everyone at her table was stunned. "Is this for real? Are you really going to divorce Henry?"

"Who's your new man? Why didn't you tell us about him?!"

"He's…" Before Whitney could reveal the man, a waitress in a bunny costume came over with two dozen beers.

"Your drinks are here."

The woman's voice sounded familiar, and Summer grabbed the woman's arm right away. "Hey, isn't this the mistress? You're serving drinks at Blue Jazz in a sexy bunny costume? What's going on? Isn't Henry giving you enough money?"

"This is the woman who ruined Whitney's marriage?"

All of Whitney's friends stood up. "Is Henry blind? She looks pretty ordinary."

Lexie ignored them. All she did was look at Whitney. "I heard that you'll pay me a thousand if I drink with you."

Whitney remained silent. Her friends were having too much fun, and they paid several male models a thousand each for drinking with them.

Summer raised an eyebrow and smiled as she slammed a wad of cash on the table. "That's right. It's the rule of our game tonight. Finish all the drinks on the table and I'll pay you a thousand."

Henry kept yelling outside the door, as if he could stop Whitney from marrying another man if he shouted his objections with all his might, but Whitney ignored his yelling. All she did was look at the priest and answer with conviction, "I do."It broke Henry's heart, and he fell to the ground, sitting there while tears streamed down his face. "Why? Why would you marry him?""The groom may now kiss the bride," the priest announced, and Lucas lowered his head to kiss Whitney's soft lips. Everyone applauded, and the couple hugged each other as everyone shouted their blessings.Henry went crazy at the sight, and he tried to barge into the church. "Whitney!""Please leave, Mr. Jordan, or we'll be forced to take action against you."The bodyguards tried to hold him back, but Henry refused to budge. They had no choice but to resort to more violent measures. While they were punching Henry, Whitney was holding Lucas' arm, smiling as she accepted the blessing of her guests. "Whitney! I w

"She's marrying Mr. Grant today, and it's the attention of everyone citywide… I don't understand how Mrs. Jordan changed into another person in just a few short days. She used to love you so much…""Whitney isn't to blame." Henry looked up slowly. "This is all my fault. I shouldn't have been with another woman while she was in a coma. If she hadn't pushed me away in that car accident, I would have been the one in a coma. She saved my life, but I repaid her by sleeping with another woman. "I promised to break ties with that woman once Whitney woke up from her coma, but I did not keep the promise when I saw how indifferent Whitney was about my adulterous relationship. It never occurred to me that Whitney had been thinking about leaving me! I was stupid. I knew Whitney was never one to tolerate such situations."You should leave, Jake. The company has gone bankrupt, and you don't need to work for me anymore."Jake Lehman, his assistant, looked at him worriedly. "Are you alright being

Whitney thought about it for quite a while before finally getting the maids to invite Henry into the house. Henry was drenched, and the floor became covered in rainwater the moment he stepped inside. Whitney looked at him with disdain and got the maids to clean up the floor and give Henry a towel. She did not plan on letting him inside for a hot bath and a change of fresh clothes."I remember I still have several pieces of clothing left here. Can I have a hot bath here and change my clothes?""Those clothes have been thrown out long ago." Whitney did not expect him to make the request. "Also, I'm about to get married, so it isn't convenient for me to let you in for a hot bath."Henry stood silent for a long time. Whitney never used to be like this. She would always get anxious the moment he got slightly wet in the rain, but now, all she felt for him was disdain. "I don't know what I did to make you hate me so much, Whitney. I've told you before that what happened with Summer was j

"You don't need to visit me every day, Whitney. I'm feeling much better. I'm fine." Summer was not in a good place emotionally, and she stayed in bed every day, refusing to move. Her family had no idea that Summer lost her arm to save Whitney, and they felt grateful every time they saw Whitney at the hospital, lamenting about what a good friend she was.Whenever Whitney heard this, she would look at Summer's empty sleeve and start crying. "I'm sorry, Summer. If it weren't for me…""Don't be silly. This isn't your fault." Summer forced a smile at her. "I heard Lexie Fontaine is in prison now. That's great news. It's good enough to be considered revenge for both of us." "Five years in prison is letting her off too easily." Hate flashed in Whitney's eyes. "I won't let Henry get away with this either. Lucas has been planning ways to buy out his company. I'll get revenge on your behalf, Summer. I won't let them have it easy!""Stop beating yourself up about this. Have you forgotten tha

Whitney went to the hospital to visit Summer after visiting her mother, and Lucas volunteered to go with her. When they arrived outside Summer's hospital room, they bumped into Henry, who was there to see Summer as well.Henry had just left the police station. He had spent one night there after being arrested and was only allowed bail the next day. As for Lexie, she was not able to escape prison. In the dimly lit corridor, Henry saw Whitney hugging another man's arm right away. The sight hurt his eyes, and he quickly approached them to pull Whitney away from Lucas to stand right in front of him. "Do you know what you're doing, Whitney? Why are you clinging to another man in bright daylight?""Another man?" The look on Lucas' face changed as he reached out to pull Whitney back into his arms. "Are you talking about me, Mr. Jordan? Have you forgotten that you and Whitney are divorced, and she's now my wife? It's normal for a wife to hold onto her husband's arm."Henry looked at him an

The next day at the Sands', Whitney was sitting on the couch, watching television, while her mother, Diana, kept staring at her. It unsettled Whitney, and she turned off the television to look back at her mother. "Is there something you'd like to say to me, Mom?" Diana hesitated for quite a while before asking, "I heard you made a police report to have Henry arrested. Is that true? What about that post you made on social media? Have you really divorced Henry and married Lucas Grant instead?" It shocked Diana to see the post online, especially when Whitney and Henry had been married for years, and it was doubtful that things between them could get so serious. "It's true that I called the police about him, but he's pretty resourceful to have avoided prison, hasn't he?" Whitney's eyes narrowed as a cold look flashed in them. "He should consider it lucky that I didn't make him and Lexie Fontaine pay for what they did to Summer with their lives.""So, it's true that Summer's arm was
