Twenty-one

Vanessa's pov

I didn't have time to rest because the moment I got home, I began to put my scattered apartment together.

"I hate you so much, Mr. Cole," I snarled.

I didn't hate him. He was too handsome to be hated. What I hated was the fact that he always found a way to make me angry.

Because I needed to be early today, I rushed into the bathroom and took a quick shower. I put on a red dress and a black jacket, matching it with black shoes. I packed my hair into a ponytail, sprayed on some deodorant before rushing out the door.

It was almost seven thirty and I was supposed to be there before my boss arrived. I ran out of my house and made sure I secured the lock of my door before I stopped a taxi.

"Where to, ma'am?" He gazed at me from the rear view mirror.

"Trenton's Inc," I replied, feeling nervous about going late.

"Okay, ma'am."

The drive to the office was a quiet one, and I was glad he was because with the way I felt, I didn't know if I would be able to talk properly.
