Zelena.

As I sat at the huge table in the room that Gunner called the hall, I was listening to him and Cole talking. Cole announced that more than half of the pack had elected to stay behind to help in the fight against the hunters. As much as I tried to argue with Gunner about sending them away with the others, it was useless. He just kept reminding me that he didn’t force them to stay and the more wolves to keep me safe, the better. I didn't like the idea of normal people, or Weres, fighting against trained killers. Once Gunner told me about all the time each pack member is made to spend in battle training during their younger lives, it made me feel slightly better. I'd never actually seen them train, but I had noticed multiple times when the village gets unusually quiet through the day. Makes sense now where they all disappeared to. Apparently, battle training is now an enforced requirement after an incident that happened a long time ago.

Gunner and Cole were organizing where to pos

Zelena.“Zee, you’ve been unconscious for three months” Gunner blurted out.“No. No I haven’t. That’s not funny” I stammered, starting to feel my panic rise. My eyes were bulging out of my head and my breaths were quickening.“Thank you, doctor, we’ll call if we need you” Gunner said not taking his eyes off my mine.“I think I should...” the doctor started,“I said we will call if we need you” Gunner snapped. The doctor lowered his head and rushed out of the room, pushing the nurse along with him. Gunner gently placed his hands on either side of my face and turned my head to look at him.“It’s okay Little Wolf, calm down” he said soothingly.“Three months” I snapped, feeling a sharp heat run up my arms. The windows began to rattle and the equipment and chairs around the bed started to shake and bend. Gunner pulled me into his chest, again holding me tightly against his body.“Shh, please, it’s alright Zee take a deep breath for me okay” he said softly, rubbing his hand up and down my

Zelena. My eyes flew open and the first thing I see is a sea of burry white. I blinked a few times to focus my eyes, where am I? I blinked rapidly, thinking for some reason that would help my memory. I can remember seeing two glowing silver orbs shining down on me, then nothing. I took a deep breath, and the most deliciously intoxicating scent filled my nostrils. Warm sunshine on a summer’s day. I know that smell. I turned my head slightly and my gaze fell upon the most welcome of all sights. Gunner. I involuntarily groaned as I drank in the sight of him. I felt my heart begin to race, and my stomach tighten. Goddess how I love what he does to my body. He stood up slowly and raked his eyes over my body. He looks thin and pale. His hair is longer, and he was sporting some kind of short scruffy beard. What happened to my young and beastly Mate? Where are the rippling muscles and the sharp strong jawline, what has caused him such pain? His eyes landed on mine, those same blue enchanting

Lunaya.Hina stepped back up to the table and glared down at the elder.“You are the Alpha, Hina, and if you wish to put her through the trials, then that is your prerogative. However, I request that you delay the commencement for one week”.Hina growled lowly at Pappi’s request, but I could see on her face she was going to accept. Pack elders are highly respected, and to have a Seer is enormously rare. She knew better than to go against her.“Very well. One week” she huffed and then marched out of the hut, with her warriors following behind her. I looked at Alyse and she was smiling at me excitedly. Was this it? Had we finally found a home? I allowed a glimmer of hope into my chest and a smile pricked at my lips. But Pappi’s words were still playing in my mind. Why am I destined to be here and why would she want to delay the trials?“Uh Pappi” I stammered,“You have questions, child” she answered me.“Yes, I do”.“I know you do, but now is not the time for questions. Soon, soon you w

Lunaya.Shit. I knew that she would eventually want these kinds of answers and that I wouldn’t be able to hide the truth for long. However, the thought of confessing is still a dangerous and scary notion.“I uh, I have been told stories of your pack since I was just a child, the great battles you have won and the victories over your many enemies, they are legend” I said with a hint of admiration behind my tone.“Yes, our history is one of greatness. However, our pack drifted a long time ago into that of myth, believed by most of the world that we are a just fairy tale. So, how is it that you came to know of our location?” Hina asked, her tone now holding more authority.“I was taught from a young age that your pack and your history is very much real”.Hina slammed her fist on the table and growled, the sound echoing around the hall and drawing complete silence from everyone still present. Alyse gripped my thigh tightly, digging in her protruding claws.“Stop dancing with me Omega and

Lunaya.“Well” she finally broke the silence,“I would like for you to ease some of my curiosity” her facial expression softened slightly, though her eyes continued their assault on mine.“I can only try, Alpha” I responded.“Firstly, my name is Hina, and you may call me Hina”.“As you wish, Hina” I responded blankly,“So, tell me, Moon Light was eradicated, what? Twenty years ago?”“Seventeen” I corrected her,“Seventeen, sorry. So where have you been all this time?”I paused for a moment before answering her question. The inner workings of my mind battling with the decision of how much to tell her and how much to withhold. I still don’t know just how trustworthy she is.“After Alyse nursed me back to health, she joined in my search for any survivors from my pack” I finally answered,“And? How many did you find?” she responded without missing a beat.I averted my eyes and lowered my head, the all too familiar feeling of guilt once again waved over me. I had punished myself for years

  • A Goddess Gifted by Fate   Chapter 122 - Breakfast

Lunaya.A soft knock on the door quickly drew me from my sleep. I lurched off the bed and took a defensive stance facing the door. Another knock, harder this time, then followed by a voice,“Are you awake? It’s Maya”. She banged on the door again, her knocks getting harder and louder.“Yes, we’re awake” I answered quickly. I leaned down and shook Alyse to wake her up.“Breakfast is being served, you must come now” her voice called through the door.“We won’t be a moment” I called back. I sat on the edge of the bed and pulled my boots on, the heat of the fire had basically dried them out. Alyse sat up next to me and pulled her boots on quickly too. I stood up and grabbed her jacket, holding it out to help her put it on. I then pulled my own jacket on and turned to look at Alyse. She nodded at me and I opened the door. Maya stood by the door with a sour look on her face.“I better not have missed out on the hash browns” she grumbled looking over us. She stomped off towards the large hut
