Whiskey.

Selene's face remained the same but she sighed.

“You remember” she said with a nod.

“Oh, I remember. But why did I forget in the first place?” I demanded angrily.

“It was the only way” she answered after a second.

“Only way for what?” I grunted. My voice took on a low gravelly sound, the anger burning through my body was working its way into my words.

“For you to survive” she quipped with hesitation. I scoffed and began to pace the floor. I need to do something, to move around, busy myself before I tear her beautiful face apart.

“There was another way, you could have taken me away from this hellhole” I shouted as I paced the floor.

“You know I could not”

“That’s bullshit!” I screamed and turned to face her.

“Aurora, as I told you before, as I told the both of you many times over, I could not interfere with the decisions of others”.

I turned away from her quickly, thinking over the words she used. The both of us. Could she mean... Zee, or Zelena, whatever her name is. I saw it

Zelena.I don't even know why I'm crying. I was feeling so energetic one second ago, now I'm overflowing with emotions. I think I need to have a rest. Tobias smiled and held his arms open. I chuckled softly and crawled into his lap, just like a child would with their parent. He wrapped his giant arms around my small frame, cocooning me against him. I sniffed and pressed my face into his chest. I love the way he smells. It relaxes me like nothing else. Gunner’s scent gets my heart racing, Tobias’s scent keeps me cool. They play off each other perfectly.“Why are you crying?” Tobias chuckled quietly.“I don’t know” I blubbered out. He laughed and squeezed me tighter.“Poor little puppy, so full of emotions” he teased and nuzzled his nose into the top of my head.“Shut up” I whined and pushed out of his arms.“Let’s change the subject” I offered and wiped my nose with the back of my hand.“Alrighty, go on then” he smiled teasingly.“Tell me who the Meļņasirds are and why everyone was so

  • A Goddess Gifted by Fate   Chapter 430 - Are You Leaving?

Zelena.“What’s going on?” I asked in a whisper. I waited silently for an answer, and it took a minute for him to respond.“Nothing” he said with a deep huff.“You’re lying to me” I whispered back. When he didn’t respond, I slid down off the rocking chair and crawled across the floor. I laid down beside him and turned onto my side, perching my head up on my hand. I looked over his face as we lay together in silence. I trailed my eyes over his smooth chocolate skin, along the curve of his nose and to his plump lips. I watched his chest rise and fall with each breath. And still, he didn’t say anything. I sighed and shifted closer, lifting his hands I moved my body under them to lay myself half over his chest with his arms around my back. I rested my ear on the centre of his chest and listened to the sound of his thumping heart. It was peaceful, melodic even. To the point, I thought it might lull me to sleep. My mind went back to the prophecy, to what it could mean for me and my mysterio

  • A Goddess Gifted by Fate   Chapter 429 - Whipped

Zelena.Once back at the house, I bounded up the stairs to the nursery. This whole situation has me feeling all kinds of paranoid. I know Smith would flash if something was wrong, but that doesn’t settle my overactive imagination. I rushed to push open the door and stepped into the darkness of the baby's room. I paused in the doorway and listened for their gentle little snores filling the silence. I flicked on the lamp by the door and both Venus and Smith stared at me with wide surprised and fearful eyes. They were sitting side by side on the floor, both of them leaning against the wall. They each pulled a weird look of desperation and silently waved their hands in front of them, motioning for me to turn the light off again. But it was too late. Little G. stirred awake and her soft cries filled the room. I chuckled at the exhausted look on both Smith and Venus’s faces as they slumped back against the wall in unison.“We just got her back to sleep” Smith grumbled as he pushed himself o

Zelena.“Stop, stop it” Roe yelled and tried to pry Doyle’s hand from around the man’s neck,“He’s just scared and confused, stop!” she yelled angrily. Doyle seemed amused by her anger, but that amusement faded when Lupus changed back into his human form and stormed through the small crowd. He pulled Roe away from Doyle and growled, to which Doyle dropped the man and growled back. This, of course got everyone else fired up too. Doyle’s wolves were growling and barking, while our pack fighters were doing the same. All of them were moving in closer, constricting what little space we had left between us.“Enough!” I screamed and jumped to my feet. I easily captured all of their attention. Just like how Gunner’s had done, my voice held an aura of power and heaviness, making it impossible for any of them to ignore it. I stepped between them all and held my hands out. Summoning my power, I let the heaviness fill my body and then pushed them all apart. Doyle seemed surprised at the invisible

Zelena."Besomar” he screamed. I held my hands out in front of me and froze. The man scrambled across the dirt screaming and muttering in Russian. Doyle moved to stand behind the man, making it harder for him to scamper away any further. Gunner pulled me up and away from the terrified man and growled down at him. Tobias, Elaine, Lunaya, all of our fighters growled and moved in closer, ready to attack.“Stop, stop” I screamed at them all and waved them back away. I whipped around to the man on the ground. He was staring up at me with so much fear on his face. His blond hair had a tinge of red through it. His pale skin was dirty and covered in bloody grazes and fresh bruises. He was thin, strong looking, but still quite slim. Above all, he had the most haunting blue eyes. Gunner’s eyes are like pools of crystal blue water, this Weres eyes, however, were so clear and so blue I imagine I could see my reflection clearly in his iris. I was caught in place, struck by the brilliance of his ey

  • A Goddess Gifted by Fate   Chapter 426 - A Survivor

Zelena.I am so confused right now. I don’t know him, Doyle, I've never met him before, why would he keep suggesting otherwise. Oh, unless... He doesn't mean me. He met Whiskey, and now he thinks I'm Whiskey.“Just getting reacquainted, young Alpha” Doyle shot back at Gunner with a frown. I saw Gunner’s body visibly swell, his shoulders pulled back and his chest expanded. The muscles under his bare skin rippled with anger.“State your business” Gunner demanded again. His voice held that same strength as before. I felt it wash over me like a cool breeze. The wolves standing around Doyle appeared to lower themselves, to the point that most of them had their bellies on the ground. Even some of our own pack fighters lowered themselves. Everyone felt the power of Gunner’s voice, they all responded to the command within it. Even Doyle. His knees buckled and he dropped to one knee. He was fighting against it, the strain was visible on his face, but Gunner proved to be more powerful.“I have
