Chapter 18: Betrayals (part 2)

Damian’s POV

   I had been taken aback by Ashe mentioning Selyna’s parents dreamlinking, not as much about the fact that the witches had seemed to know about it while Ashe was the only wolf shifter to know about it and had betrayed Selyna’s trust. She was not only forgiving but forthcoming. There really was no way either Ashe or I would let her go alone into any danger. 

   Now I am standing in front of everyone, putting on a show of strength despite still healing slowly from the magical ambush and having expelled my own power a bit with those blasts that started the fire. It had been the alarms blaring from the fire that made the witches teleport out without subduing and taking me, like they had intended.

    “Are you sure it was Amber?” m
