Chapter 33: Tensions Run High
Damian’s POV
Something was off with Selyna, I knew it the moment she turned to me. There was sadness and hesitation in her eyes, the likes of which I had never seen before. “Damian, I love you, but …but I can’t do this, not now, not like this!” she cried before falling into my arms. “I want to feel you, to be with you, but I am not your mate…the pull to you, it feels like I am missing something, I am drawn to you, like always, but something just isn’t there” She sobs as she grips my shirt in her fists. I gently run my hand over her head, soothing her as I pull her trembling frame against my chest and kiss the top of her head.
“I am not going anywhere. I am yours and yours alone,” I whisper and she faintly nods, but my queen seems broken, not her usual strong self.

Simone CarlisleI had considered giving Ashe and Adam their own book and I might in the future, but I really love these two and the way their timeline is working out just felt right. We will definitely see more of them and more from their perspectives. Ashe and Selyna are practically inseparable ever since they met 12 years ago so they will continue being a big part of the story and I have a lot more in store for them.
