Chapter 34: Tipping Point

Damian’s POV

I know where I am, I have seen this cell before. I stand in the shadows. The heavily drugged male figure is slumped against the wall with chains around his wrists and legs. The red headed woman stands eyeing me before turning to Selyna, who is next to her talking. 

   I can hear them. “Mother, I am not his mate, please stop asking about him. It hurts too much, he needs to move on, but no spells that I can find will undo my choosing him as king.” The tears fall from her eyes and I want to erase them, to erase her pain.

    “You can not undo what has been done, my dear girl. You are the first of your kind, you know we have no idea the rules of your bonds, he may not be your fated mate, but perhaps a true mate or soulmate” Marelene soothes her daughter.
