Kayla’s POV

The first time I saw him, I thought it was just a nightmare.

The second time, I knew with a sinking feeling that it wasn’t just a bad dream.

Shadows slithered through my dreams, shifting figures with hollow eyes and mouths that whispered in a language I didn’t understand. A language that felt ancient and not quite right.

I’d wake up gasping, in a different position from where I fell asleep, drenched in sweat, heart hammering in my chest.

But I never told Adrian. I couldn’t.

  • A Luna of Ice : Reborn for vengeance    Is chelsea the solution?

Ivonne's pov"Yes." He said and a chill ran down my spine. The impact of his word landed heavier than I expected and he continued.“The note came from Chelsea.”Even though I had already guessed it, hearing him confirm it made something tighten painfully in my chest.I pushed that feeling down immediately. This wasn’t about jealousy or my insecurity. It had to be about the people. So I asked the question that mattered most.“Does she really have one of the ancient artifacts? One that can repair the veil and strengthen the border?”Hector nodded once.“Yes. She does.”My heart skipped but surprisingly, it was Relief that flooded me in that moment. That meant there was still hope to stop the attacks before they got worse. But mixed into that relief was another emotion I didn’t want to examine too closely.Because the person who might save our entire realm… Was Hector’s former mate.I quickly pushed that thought aside. This was bigger than me. Bigger than jealousy.People could die if th

  • A Luna of Ice : Reborn for vengeance    Confronting Hector about Chelsea

Ivonne's povI turned slowly to face Hector and for a second, neither of us spoke.Hector stood there just inside the doorway, still wearing the dark coat he usually wore during patrols. His hair looked a little damp like he had just come in from the night air, and there was that tired tension in his shoulders that always appeared after long hours dealing with borders, scouts, and endless responsibilities. But what caught my attention wasn’t how exhausted he looked. It was the way he paused when he saw me standing by the fireplace. His eyes flicked briefly toward the hearth. Right where the note had burned and he immediately tensed up.I noticed his reaction and immediately straightened my posture.Okay. Ivonne. Calm down, don't come at him like you are trying to fight, just talk calmly. Don’t look suspicious either. Don’t look like you’ve been standing here overthinking for the last ten minutes and this is a big deal.I forced a normal smile, “You’re back,” I said casually. “That wa

  • A Luna of Ice : Reborn for vengeance    Duty and purpose

Ivonne's POV Sevrin's fingers hovered in the air for a second before he slowly pulled his hand back and I sighed.Yes, I felt a small wave of disappointment But I also understood his hesitation Severin had been raised in a world where Lycans were taught that everyone outside their realm was beneath them. Humans especially were seen as weak, temporary, and insignificant. And Denise… was human.Even though her feelings for him had been obvious for a long time.I could almost see the battle happening inside him.His Instinct, Training, Pride were all battling what he was actually feeling. After a moment, I knocked softly on the door.Severin jerked slightly and immediately pulled his hand away completely, pretending like he had just woken up.Denise stirred at the sound and lifted her head groggily. Then her eyes widened when she saw Severin awake.“You’re awake!” she said quickly, sitting up straight. "Are you Okay? Are you still in pain? Does anywhere hurt? Should I get the doctor?!"

  • A Luna of Ice : Reborn for vengeance    Truths and duty

Ivonne's POV Hours had passed since Elara had said Chelsea’s name, but I still I felt like the air in the library had gotten heavier. My thoughts had immediately tried to run in ten different directions at once. The note from the fire. The strange wordings. Hector’s reaction when he read it. And now this—learning that one of the artifacts we desperately need currently belongs to his former mate. I could practically feel the panic starting to rise in my chest. But I forced myself to stop. No. Not here. Not now. I took a slow breath, trying to calm the storm in my head before it could spiral into something messy and obvious. The last thing I wanted was for Elara or Justin to notice that something was wrong. They already had enough to worry about with the attacks, the play, and everything else happening around the palace. They didn't need to know that we were covering up Chelsea's fake death-- an information that can ruin hector's integrity, work, life and claim as Alpha. I stra

  • A Luna of Ice : Reborn for vengeance    Elara and the artifact

Ivonne's pov Did Hector just lie to me. Was He was hiding something from me? I immediately shook my head. No. Hector wasn’t like that. He had proven himself time and Time again that he was a good man. A fair man. I trusted him more than anyone. If he didn’t want me involved in this particular situation, then there had to be a very good reason. But Still… The wording of the piece of note I got and his reaction to the rest of the content made my stomach twist in a strange way. “Yours forever and always.” That didn’t sound like just a common acquaintance or some other distant negotiating for an artifact. That sounded… personal. I sighed and dropped the tiny paper back into the fire. “I’m overthinking this,” I told myself firmly. “I need to just trust his decision.” A second later, Hector’s voice echoed from the bathroom. “Ivonne! Are you coming or did you fall asleep out there?” I smiled despite myself. “I’m coming you big baby!” And a few minutes later, I pushed all

  • A Luna of Ice : Reborn for vengeance    The artifact and dread

Ivonne's povI’m not going to lie, the moment that guard refused to give me the note, something about it rubbed me the wrong way.It wasn’t just stubbornness. Guards follow orders all the time, sure, but this felt… different. His jaw was tight, his eyes flicked nervously between me and the door like he expected someone to jump out and accuse him of treason if he handed it over.“I was instructed that it’s for Alpha Hector’s eyes only, ma'am,” he repeated carefully, almost apologetically. For a second I just stared at him, stunned by the sheer determination in his voice. Usually people got nervous under my glare and caved after a little pressure, but this man looked like he’d rather get thrown in the dungeon than disobey whatever instruction he had been given.Behind me, Hector shifted slightly where he was leaning against the bed, clearly still tired from everything that had happened with Sevrin. His arm was draped lazily over his stomach, but I could feel the sharp attention in the r
