The first trimester had proven to be challenging; Hailey, after working a ten-hour shift at home taking care of Paige and doing her routine around the ranch, found that she was spotting about two hours after being home.

"Jake!" she yelled out, calling him in a panic.

He came running into the bedroom. "What! What's wrong!"

"Something's wrong with the baby! I'm spotting blood."

Jake helped her in the car, put Paige into her car seat, and drove to the local hospital as fast as he could. The doctor suggested she stay overnight.

"Can I stay with her?"

“What about Paige?”

“I called Soo-hee, and Leon came before we left the house and asked them if they could watch Paige. So they came and picked her up. She’s in good hands with her uncle and auntie. So, Doc, can I stay with my wife?”

"Sure, Mr. Sullivan. She's going to be alright. We will probably have to keep her on bed rest for the next two months."
