Alpha Damien
“Did you find the stripper?” I asked Seyric who shook his head. “The owner of the bar said she was caught by a family and ever since then, he hasn’t seen her. He couldn’t describe her properly because it was his first time seeing her. He tried tracing her to the house but it seems like she ran away.” He explained and I clenched my fists. “Alpha, don’t you think it’s strange that you’re concerning yourself with a stripper when you can just find another one to please you?” Seyric demanded and I scolded. “She is different! She matched my strength and was unrelenting…” I replied and he exhaled. “I’ll keep searching…” “She seems familiar, too familiar!” I announced to Seyric, my beta who stared at me with astonishment. “Who are you talking about, Alpha?” He asked and I pushed my chair back, heading towards my window as I stared down at the wolves who were training at the field. We were at the training center, I was trying very hard to work but images of last night kept plaguing my head, I couldn’t stop thinking about her. She was the first to stare at both my human and feral form, it came as a huge shock because nobody had ever been daring enough to stand before my feral form because they always ended up dead. I was bloodthirsty last night but I let her go. All I could ask myself was why? Why did I stop the guard from killing her when she met my gaze, why did I let go last night? “Alpha… What are you talking about?” Seyric asked again and I turned around, returning back to my seat. “A new maid was in the pack house yesterday, she seemed oddly familiar and her scent was something I’ve perceived before… It feels like we’ve been together. She stared at me…” “And she’s still alive!” Seyric thundered as he gritted his teeth and I shot him a dark gaze which made him retreat. “She was with me last night… She came out of the house.” I announced and his eyes widened in shock. “Sh… She came out of the house… Where did you dispose of her bones? I don’t know what's wrong with these new maids, they never listen and they always meet their deaths.” He grumbled and a small smirk appeared on my face, because he would almost die of shock if he finds out she’s still alive. “She’s still alive.” I announced and he almost jumped out of fright. His eyes dilated with shock, he went pale for a second and he hit his ears countless times, trying to understand if he had heard right. “How… What… Alpha… She…” He was stunned, it was a big bother to both of us, even my wolf was still in shock although he hadn't spoken about her, I knew we had a lot to discuss. “Alpha? Who is she? No one has ever stepped out of the house and made it inside alive in your feral state, not even powerful warriors, talk more about a mere maid. The last gamma was brutally killed, how did she survive? Can you control your wolf now?” He asked numerous questions that I had no answers for. “I don't know what she is but there was something holding me back, I couldn’t touch her, I waited upon her and I watched her sleep throughout the night. Seyric I’m in utter confusion.” I replied with a frown, hating the fact that I watched her sleep and he nodded. “I’m equally confused! Have you confronted her? What do you think she is? Where is she?” “She’s in the pack. I left the house because I didn’t want to get distracted by it but I can’t stop thinking about it. She seems familiar and strange at the same time. It feels like we’ve met but we haven’t, I never forget the faces of the people I’ve met… Except for one, the stripper from the crescent moon pack but she doesn’t look anything like the stripper.” I replied and he stroked his jaw. “I’m worried… What if she’s from the enemy pack? She’s a new maid, what if she was sent to kill you? You know how many maids have been sent to poison you…” He reminded and a small smile curved on my face. I relished the idea of a challenge, if she was sent to kill me then she’d meet her own demise faster than she could utter her name. “And if she isn’t?” I was stunned that I uttered my thoughts, Seyric stared at me for a moment, his eyes filled with shock. “There’s always a reason for everything, Alpha. New maids and guards come into the pack house just to kill you and the pack house is short of maids because you always devour them.” He explained and a small smile formed on my lips. “So what are you implying? Are you saying she’s more than just a maid?” “She’s not ordinary… She’s dangerous to both you and this pack. Whether she’s a maid or not is unknown. Your enemies would do anything just to see you fall and remember alpha, you’re surrounded by enemies, even the crescent moon pack you sneak into sometimes is an enemy.” He warned sternly and I squinted my gaze, thinking about what he had just said. It was the truth, all the packs were against me because I was the oldest Alpha and strongest Alpha alive, I lost count of my age when I turned 500 years and they tried taking me on their own and collectively but I didn’t live for so long to be killed by weaklings. “What do you want to do?” I always knew Seyric had a plan for every situation and he exhaled. “I don’t know, Alpha but we can’t let our guard down, remember what happened the last time a pack underestimated us?” I recalled the brutal battle that disrupted the peace of my pack. “We can’t let her live, Alpha… She’s a threat to your safety and the pack’s stability. She might be small now but if rumors spread that she lived after seeing your beastly side, the other Alphas would use her.” He pointed out and I nodded without a word, thinking about her death. “What if she’s not?” I was curious. “We can’t take that risk alpha, we’ve already seen that she’s reckless and disobedient, she’ll become a threat if we don’t take care of her.” I was silent for a while. “Please give me permission, Alpha… Remember what doesn’t kill you is weak enough to get killed by you. Since you can’t kill her, she is going to be the death of you. Please grant me the permission to kill her this afternoon, at the pack house in front of everyone so this could be a form of warning to the others.” He pleaded with his head slightly bowed and I smiled. Seyric was alway on the watch out for me, he valued my life more than that of his and I nodded slowly. “Kill her now.” I growled finally trying to push aside my doubts. “Send a piece of her body to every pack as a gift from me.”Nora's POV "Well, that's how far we can go tonight," Damien said when we got to the orchard. He had shifted back to his human form and we finished the tour, walking side by side. Honestly, I didn't hear most of his explanations because I was deep in thought.I was thinking about how gentle his wolf had been with me, how it had let me pet it and...I was so lost in my thoughts that I almost tripped over a fallen branch but Damien caught me by the waist."Please, be careful," he cautioned me gently, bringing me close to him. My heart raced when he touched me and it was like fire was spreading over my skin. I nodded, suddenly tongue-tied and I couldn't understand why I felt disappointed when he let me go."Can we go back to the packhouse now? I think I'm...feeling sleepy now," I faked a wide yawn, stretching my hands above my head. I could swear that I saw his face fall in disappointment too."Okay then," he simply said and we started the journey back in silence. Again, my mind went bac
Nora's POVWe returned to Falcon Pack later than I expected because of the emergency visit to Crescent Pack. Damien responded whenever I asked him anything but I could tell that he was still upset. Because we arrived very late, we just went to our respective rooms without bothering about having dinner.I thought I would fall asleep the moment my head hit my pillow but an hour later, I was tossing and turning restlessly. I squeezed my eyes tightly shut but sleep refused to come. I fluffed my pillow over and over again only to lie wide awake. Goddess, what is this? I wondered, finally quitting and sitting up in bed. I didn't have a headache or a stomach ache and I was tired from the long journey back. So, why couldn't I fall asleep? Was it a pregnancy thing? "Maybe I just need to walk off any trapped energy inside me," I decided, threw the sheets off my feet and left my room. I walked downstairs gently, not wanting to wake anybody else. Then I saw that the kitchen door was open.I had
Damien's POVThe beach barbecue signified the end of our stay at the packhouse and Nora enjoyed every part of it. While we were packing our bags to leave, she kept pouting and eyeing the bed. I had to almost drag her outside and opened the car door for her. “Let's go,” I said to the driver after helping Nora with her seatbelt. Soon, the packhouse was behind us and I let myself relax.“Damien,” Nora called me and I turned to her. “When we get back, can I—”My phone rang all of a sudden, cutting her short. “Sorry about this,” I apologized, digging out my phone from my suit jacket. The call was from my Beta and Nora saw it too. I had told him not to call me unless it was urgent. What could be happening back in Falcon Pack?“It's fine. Answer it then. Since it's from Ryan, it must be urgent,” she agreed, flipping the next page on her eBook. It was her favourite pastime and she said reading helped her sleep sometimes.I swiped a finger across the screen before the call would end. “Hello?
Damien“Alpha, things have been quiet for a while now and I’m sorry for letting Alejandro accuse you wrongly. We hope you’d invest in this pack and together, we can grow a great business.” Alpha Malcom muttered and I nodded.“I hope we work together to build a great empire… I have no issue with the accusations.” I replied and he nodded.“You can be rest assured that Alejandro won’t take over your position as the head, he’s hosting a meeting tomorrow and I would protest about him being ruler, should we count on your presence?” He asked and I shook my head.“I don’t care about whatever he does, as long as it wouldn’t endanger the life of anyone.” I replied and he exhaled deeply.“I’m having a barbecue today, would you like to join me… The beach is quite beautiful at night and I’m sure your Luna would like to see it.” He suggested, turning to Nora who was scrolling through her phone idly, she looked extremely bored.“I’ll think about it, since we are done, it’s nice
Nora felt the sun on her face the moment she was awake and rolled to her side to avoid the direct sunlight. The other side of the bed was empty, meaning Damien was already awake. How did he manage to wake up so early when we arrived so late yesterday?Like he heard her thoughts, Damien cleared his throat from somewhere in the room. Nora sat up to find him sipping a cup of coffee from behind his laptop. He was using the only chair and table in the room and it was barely 8am but he was already hard at work. Nora opened her mouth to say something but instead, she was hit with a wave of nausea. She pushed the sheets back and ran to the bathroom with a hand over her mouth. She held the toilet bowl and threw up her dinner from last night. After heaving three times and emptying her stomach, she sat back on her heels to catch her breath."Are you o—oh my gosh, Nora!" Damien exclaimed when he found her on the bathroom floor. He closed the distance between them quickly, bending down beside her.
Nora“Congratulations alpha, she will deliver the baby in three months.” The doctor announced and my face brightened.“This is great news. Thank you doctor.” I muttered with a smile and he nodded.“Thank you doctor.” He muttered as she walked out. He joined me on the bed, a broad smile on his face as he placed his hand on my open stomach.“What do you think we should name them? We’ve thought of everything but their names.” He replied and I decided to give it some thought.“How about Jack and Jill, If it’s a boy and girl?” “Hell no! I want something powerful, I want people to tremble when they hear their names… I want everyone to know that they’re my offspring and should never be toyed with.” He explained and I scoffed.“And I want my babies to have normal lives. I want them to have the opportunity to make friends and play with other kids without their parents being scared.” I replied and he frowned.“Fine, I'll make an exception but I want beautiful names.” “Okay how about Juan and
