                                NORA

With my heart thumping furiously, I ran out of the room, it was Violet’s room and the first thing I did was wash the blood stains off my hands.

It wasn’t enough to wash away the guilt and pain I was feeling but I decided to ignore all these feelings, wishing desperately that I had a wolf who’d have helped me navigate my way out of this mess. Unfortunately, I was alone, I’ve always been.

Rushing into my room, I grabbed a long gown which I wore and I pulled out a small bag, stacking in a few clothes before I dashed out through the back door.

I had no idea where I was headed to but it was outside of the pack, I’d be killed for murdering him, Violet would make sure I have the most painful death ever.

Getting to the road that led to the border, I made the decision to leave the pack, even if it meant to crawl. My fears rose when I saw a truck coming.

I began to panic as it felt like he was after me, all I could picture was Violet getting her hands on me and strangling me to death.

I couldn’t stop glancing behind me, the truck slowed down beside me and I hastened my steps, struggling to conceal my fears.

“Are you heading out of the pack!” The truck driver asked and I froze for a moment, nodding my head vigorously after a few seconds.

“Hop in, I’m heading out too!” He replied and although it was too sudden, I decided to take the risk.

“Where are you headed?” He asked immediately I entered and I swallowed, trying very hard to talk but I couldn't find my voice.

“Are you headed to the Falcon’s pack?” I nodded immediately, wishing he wouldn’t notice the way I was sweating all over me.

The journey began and I couldn’t stop offering prayers to the goddess, wishing I wasn’t moving from one form of hell to another.

The only thing I knew about the Falcon pack was how dangerously powerful they were and how they were enemies with the Crescent Moon pack, only the goddess knew if they’d be able to accept me.

“Where in the falcon pack are you heading to?” He asked and this time stared at me expectantly for an answer.

“I… I… I—“ Tears brimmed in my eyes as my voice broke.

“Are you okay?”

“…” Unable to speak, I shook my head. He left me for a moment and after I managed to gather a little strength, I spoke.

“I have nowhere to go…”

“I’m heading to the Falcon pack house, I heard the pack mistress needs new maids, you can—“ I didn’t let him finish talking before I whipped my head up, my body filled with expectations and gratitude.

“Thank you so much.” I felt like crying because it seemed like there was a silver lining in all these.

We drove into the pack and I couldn’t stop staring in awe, it was bigger and more developed than the Crescent moon pack, he drove into the pack house and I couldn’t help but compare the two packs together, and it was evident why the Falcon pack was regarded as the most powerful pack.

It was evening already, I couldn’t stop staring at the gigantic mansion and how orderly everywhere was.

“Wait here.” He muttered and I stepped out of the car, taking in the environment with my bag tightly clutched to my chest.

My head was a mess, I didn’t know whether to be happy or sad. A demon you know is better than the angel you don’t, they say but in this case there was no better option, they were equally bad.

“Who is this? Do you think she can work? I’ve never seen her face.” The woman muttered as she stared at me with slight contempt.

“She’s a distant cousin, believe me, she won’t disappoint you.” He pleaded and she exhaled, taking a minute to ponder.

“Fine, I’ll give her a week's probation and if she’s good I’ll employ her, if otherwise, she’ll leave without pay.” She replied and I nodded vigorously, too stunned to say anything.

Only the goddess knew how grateful I was, because if I didn’t get it, only the goddess knew whether I’d be able to survive a day in this place.

“Follow me…” She left and I turned to the stranger who had helped me in ways even my stepmother and stepsisters couldn’t.

“Thank you so much—“

“It’s fine, I’ll be back next week, I hope you get the job.” He muttered as he patted my shoulder and entered the truck, driving out while I dashed after the woman.

I couldn’t stop thinking if this was fate because why would I leave the house and find help immediately, this was a miracle and I’ve got the goddess to praise for this.

“Take her bag to the quarters, there are a few rules in this pack, first you should never enter any room you’re not invited into. I can’t save you if you go against any rule and I hate to scare you but the reason we’re short on maids is because the Alpha beheaded a few who dared steal glances at him.” I felt my spine stiffen.

The Alpha was known as a vicious person but this was the most terrific reason to end the life of a person.

No maid dared to look an alpha in the eyes but from the looks of things if I dared to do as much as breathe too much, I’m sure death would be my fate.

“Yes, mistress.” I replied while giving my bag to another maid and she stared at me slightly. We entered the house and I kept my head bowed, fear visible over me as the air was filled with terror.

It was evident that everyone lived in fear of the unknown and the alpha was a very temperamental person.

“You are never to be outside once it’s midnight, adhere to this if you value your life.” She warned and I nodded, my curiosity was at its peak but it was best to speak less and listen more.

“Your job is to clean the rooms and the passage, the Alpha is away from 8 am till 4 pm, you’re to do your duties before that time and under no circumstance should you enter the Alpha’s room, it’s forbidden.” She added and I nodded, still curious but I clamped my mouth shut.

“Gossiping isn’t allowed and no word about what is happening here should be breathed to the outside world, you’ll be dealt with if caught, is that understood? Do you have any questions?” She asked and I shook my head.

“Step aside!” I heard a maid squeal as more terror filled the air and I could see a few maids dashing around in fear, trembling visibly.

“The alpha is coming!” Another whispered with a lot of fear in her voice.

“Step aside!” She barked harshly and I nodded, flattening myself against the wall as I began breathing heavily, pleading for the goddess to save me.

He walked past us with three guards and I willed my eyes to stay focused on the ground, my hands shaking as my heart was about to burst out of my chest.

He walked past us and I released the breath I had been holding subconsciously.

We turned around, leaving in the opposite direction when his voice erupted. “Wait.” He had a voice which seemed awfully gente but there was a hidden message about it, it was a simple command but it made everyone freeze in fright.

“Have we met before?” He asked and I almost collapsed. I was mortified, my whole body getting drained of blood as my hands just shook in fear while I had my head buried.

“Alpha, she’s a new—“

“A word from you and you won’t have a tongue.” He threatened the pack mistress who recoiled in terror and he took one step closer, making my body quake even harder as I felt air closing on me.

I felt his scent all over me, my mind too distressed to think of what he smelled like, his feet were a few inches away from mine and only the goddess knew how I had survived such a moment.

“Speak!” His voice thundered as he held my chin up roughly, willing me to look up and I averted my gaze shakily, trying to look at the ceiling, the ground and anything other than his face.

His sharp claws were beginning to dig into my jaws and it hurt deeply but I was too mortified to think about the pain, all I wanted was my life.

“N… N… No…” I managed to stammer and much to my dismay, our eyes met and rather than averting my gaze immediately, stupidly with a racing heart, I maintained eye contact.

Gasps of shock rang out as a guard drew out a sword, ready to slay me for looking the Alpha in the eyes.

  • A Mate For The Rogue Alpha   Spend the night with you

Nora's POV "Well, that's how far we can go tonight," Damien said when we got to the orchard. He had shifted back to his human form and we finished the tour, walking side by side. Honestly, I didn't hear most of his explanations because I was deep in thought.I was thinking about how gentle his wolf had been with me, how it had let me pet it and...I was so lost in my thoughts that I almost tripped over a fallen branch but Damien caught me by the waist."Please, be careful," he cautioned me gently, bringing me close to him. My heart raced when he touched me and it was like fire was spreading over my skin. I nodded, suddenly tongue-tied and I couldn't understand why I felt disappointed when he let me go."Can we go back to the packhouse now? I think I'm...feeling sleepy now," I faked a wide yawn, stretching my hands above my head. I could swear that I saw his face fall in disappointment too."Okay then," he simply said and we started the journey back in silence. Again, my mind went bac

  • A Mate For The Rogue Alpha   Riding his wolf

Nora's POVWe returned to Falcon Pack later than I expected because of the emergency visit to Crescent Pack. Damien responded whenever I asked him anything but I could tell that he was still upset. Because we arrived very late, we just went to our respective rooms without bothering about having dinner.I thought I would fall asleep the moment my head hit my pillow but an hour later, I was tossing and turning restlessly. I squeezed my eyes tightly shut but sleep refused to come. I fluffed my pillow over and over again only to lie wide awake. Goddess, what is this? I wondered, finally quitting and sitting up in bed. I didn't have a headache or a stomach ache and I was tired from the long journey back. So, why couldn't I fall asleep? Was it a pregnancy thing? "Maybe I just need to walk off any trapped energy inside me," I decided, threw the sheets off my feet and left my room. I walked downstairs gently, not wanting to wake anybody else. Then I saw that the kitchen door was open.I had

  • A Mate For The Rogue Alpha   Not the end

Damien's POVThe beach barbecue signified the end of our stay at the packhouse and Nora enjoyed every part of it. While we were packing our bags to leave, she kept pouting and eyeing the bed. I had to almost drag her outside and opened the car door for her. “Let's go,” I said to the driver after helping Nora with her seatbelt. Soon, the packhouse was behind us and I let myself relax.“Damien,” Nora called me and I turned to her. “When we get back, can I—”My phone rang all of a sudden, cutting her short. “Sorry about this,” I apologized, digging out my phone from my suit jacket. The call was from my Beta and Nora saw it too. I had told him not to call me unless it was urgent. What could be happening back in Falcon Pack?“It's fine. Answer it then. Since it's from Ryan, it must be urgent,” she agreed, flipping the next page on her eBook. It was her favourite pastime and she said reading helped her sleep sometimes.I swiped a finger across the screen before the call would end. “Hello?

  • A Mate For The Rogue Alpha   Enough fun

Damien“Alpha, things have been quiet for a while now and I’m sorry for letting Alejandro accuse you wrongly. We hope you’d invest in this pack and together, we can grow a great business.” Alpha Malcom muttered and I nodded.“I hope we work together to build a great empire… I have no issue with the accusations.” I replied and he nodded.“You can be rest assured that Alejandro won’t take over your position as the head, he’s hosting a meeting tomorrow and I would protest about him being ruler, should we count on your presence?” He asked and I shook my head.“I don’t care about whatever he does, as long as it wouldn’t endanger the life of anyone.” I replied and he exhaled deeply.“I’m having a barbecue today, would you like to join me… The beach is quite beautiful at night and I’m sure your Luna would like to see it.” He suggested, turning to Nora who was scrolling through her phone idly, she looked extremely bored.“I’ll think about it, since we are done, it’s nice

  • A Mate For The Rogue Alpha   Jealous

Nora felt the sun on her face the moment she was awake and rolled to her side to avoid the direct sunlight. The other side of the bed was empty, meaning Damien was already awake. How did he manage to wake up so early when we arrived so late yesterday?Like he heard her thoughts, Damien cleared his throat from somewhere in the room. Nora sat up to find him sipping a cup of coffee from behind his laptop. He was using the only chair and table in the room and it was barely 8am but he was already hard at work. Nora opened her mouth to say something but instead, she was hit with a wave of nausea. She pushed the sheets back and ran to the bathroom with a hand over her mouth. She held the toilet bowl and threw up her dinner from last night. After heaving three times and emptying her stomach, she sat back on her heels to catch her breath."Are you o—oh my gosh, Nora!" Damien exclaimed when he found her on the bathroom floor. He closed the distance between them quickly, bending down beside her.

  • A Mate For The Rogue Alpha   Do you love it

Nora“Congratulations alpha, she will deliver the baby in three months.” The doctor announced and my face brightened.“This is great news. Thank you doctor.” I muttered with a smile and he nodded.“Thank you doctor.” He muttered as she walked out. He joined me on the bed, a broad smile on his face as he placed his hand on my open stomach.“What do you think we should name them? We’ve thought of everything but their names.” He replied and I decided to give it some thought.“How about Jack and Jill, If it’s a boy and girl?” “Hell no! I want something powerful, I want people to tremble when they hear their names… I want everyone to know that they’re my offspring and should never be toyed with.” He explained and I scoffed.“And I want my babies to have normal lives. I want them to have the opportunity to make friends and play with other kids without their parents being scared.” I replied and he frowned.“Fine, I'll make an exception but I want beautiful names.” “Okay how about Juan and
