Ronan

These meetings and pack activities have always been annoying. Sitting here, listening to these old men drone on. Elders of the pack—Nathan, Anderson, and Bridget, the oldest. My uncle Gerald sits at the edge, smiling like everything they say is brilliant. I want to disappear, run into the woods for fresh air.

"It's obvious the pack lurking around our borders is not just Blackridge, so we have to improve security and make sure the part of our land they seek never gets to them—" Casen’s voice fades, like it’s underwater. I nod, but my mind isn’t on him. It isn’t on anything here. I catch glimpses of the others’ faces, their eyebrows raised, eyes narrowing, some already sensing my distraction.

*Ronan…*

I hear the one voice I’ve been longing for this past month. Faint. Echoing in my head, gone again before I can grasp it. Then pain slides through my forearm and down my leg. My body jerks. Calla. Something is wrong.

My breath catches in my throat, tight and shallow. Ahh… she’s in da

RonanThe taste of blood lingers on my tongue long after the battle ends. My body feels like it’s been ripped apart, every muscle screaming, my chest raw with pain. I collapse onto the dirt, boots heavy, breath shallow. The night is quieter now, but it’s not silence—it’s the kind of quiet that follows slaughter. Groans, whimpers, the occasional snarl. The stench of blood and smoke thick in the air, clinging to everything. Victory tastes bitter.Casen’s wolf prowls near me, blood dripping from his muzzle, his fur torn in patches. He shifts back, naked and covered in red, his face sharp with worry. He kneels down, his hand hovering close like he’s afraid to touch me.“You’re bleeding too much,” he mutters, his voice rough, strained. “Fuck, Ronan, you should never have been out there in this state.”I give a bitter laugh, low and broken. “Should I have stayed in bed and let them tear through us? Not happening.” My words come out hoarse, but steady enough.Casen doesn’t answer. His jaw cl

  • A NERD FOR THE HOCKEY ALPHA   ~073. The Battle

RonanThe night is on fire with screams. Steel clashes, bones crack, wolves snarl loud enough to shake the ground under my boots. I grip the knife in one hand, the gun in the other, sweat sliding into my eyes as I move through the chaos. Casen is right beside me, shifting fast into his wolf, his massive form tearing into the first rogue that lunges our way. Blood sprays, hot and metallic, covering the dirt. The air reeks of it.I can’t shift. I can’t even feel Darko anymore. His silence is like a hole inside me, hollow and terrifying. My chest aches with it, but there’s no time to think. No time to wish. All I have are these weapons and my stubborn need not to drop dead before this night is over.“Left!” Casen’s voice blasts through the mindlink, sharp.I spin, pulling the trigger before the rogue even lands. The gun kicks hard in my hand. The shot rips through his head, and he drops like a stone, his body twitching as blood spills fast. My ears ring from the blast, but I don’t care.

  • A NERD FOR THE HOCKEY ALPHA   ~072. The Invasion Begins

RonanI hear Casen’s voice in the dark and jolt awake. My chest is burning, my whole body trembling as I blink fast, trying to make sense of where I am. I notice I’m on my bed in my room, the sheets damp with sweat, and Casen is leaning over me, his face pale and scared.“Ronan,” he says quickly, relief spilling out as soon as my eyes focus on him. “What the hell happened? You blacked out on the floor when I came in. You scared the shit out of me.”My throat is dry, words scraping out. “How… how long was I out?”“Not long,” he mutters, fumbling with something in his hand. “Here. Take this. I had some in my room.” He presses the small bottle into my hand and shakes out a pill. “Medicine. You need it, don’t argue.”I don’t have the strength to argue anyway. My chest is still heavy, Darko’s not there, I feel totally empty. I grab the pill, shove it into my mouth, swallow with the water he pushes at me. The taste is bitter, sticking to my tongue.I slump back on the pillow, staring at the

  • A NERD FOR THE HOCKEY ALPHA   071: He's weak

RonanThe moment I shut the door of my room, the mask falls. All through that damn meeting, with Sasha’s punishment and eyes on me, I held it in. The weight in my chest, the twisting pressure, the fire that does not burn on the outside but claws inside me — I forced it down. Now there is no one watching. Just me and Darko. The pain slams into me before I even cross the floor. My knees nearly buckle. I grab the edge of the dresser, knuckles white, jaw locked so I do not make a sound. Alphas do not whimper. Right now I am not an Alpha. I am a man with his insides tearing because my wolf is weakening again.“Fuck,” I grind through clenched teeth. My chest feels like it is caving in. Every inhale is a battle. Every exhale is too shallow to matter.I press my palm to my sternum because the motion feels like something. It does not help. The pressure only grows. A sharp, stabbing ache shoots into my left shoulder and down my arm. My body jerks with the force of it.Darko. I can’t feel him at

  • A NERD FOR THE HOCKEY ALPHA   ~070: The Punishment

RonanThe hall is still heavy with the echo of Sasha’s trial. Everyone’s voices, their mutters, their hidden agreements, their doubts—none of it has left the air. I can feel the weight pressing down on me as I rise from my chair, my palms still stinging where my grip earlier had cracked wood and skin alike. I look at Sasha, the girl I once thought I knew. She kneels in the middle of the room, her hair in tangles, her eyes rimmed red. She doesn’t look broken, not really. Not the way guilt should break someone. She looks desperate. She looks like she’s already calculating how to twist this back to her favor.I force my voice steady. “Sasha.” My tone carries enough power that the low murmurs of the council and the pack warriors at the edges die off immediately. “From this day forward, every privilege you carried as my former partner, as the one once considered for the Luna seat, is stripped away. You are nothing to me. You are nothing to this pack but a traitor in need of correction.”Th

  • A NERD FOR THE HOCKEY ALPHA   ~069: The Summoning

RonanThe council hall is already full when I step inside. The air carries that heavy kind of silence that feels like a storm held back by thin glass. Warriors line the walls, shoulders stiff, eyes sharp. The Elders sit forward in their seats, murmuring low until I raise a hand. The sound cuts like a blade. Everyone knows why we’re here.Sasha is dragged in between two guards. Even now, with her wrists bound and her hair tangled, she still tries to tilt her chin like she owns the place. “Don’t touch me,” she snaps at the warrior on her left, yanking her arm free. Her voice wavers but she hides it with a sob that catches half the room. “You can’t manhandle me like this. I’m the Beta's cousin. In case you forgot I was supposed to be your Luna... leave me alone, I’ve done nothing wrong.”The pack stirs. Some nod. Some whisper. A few look at me like I’ve already gone too far just for summoning her. That’s the rot that’s been festering under my roof—Sasha’s blood ties, her history with me,
