Chapter 24

Within the blink of an eye, Romona pulled Author in a tight hug.

Author smiled before reciprocating the hug. It lasted for some minutes before they broke it.

" Are you sure this is your house?"

He glanced at her "of course. this is my house"

His words neatly nailed the yawning gap between them. He got out, his long legs taking him slowly around the car to open the door for her. Clutching on her gucci hand bag, Romona went with him around the side of the house to a wide gravel parking area.

Trying to sound brisk.

"Yes, perfect for us".

The interior was as beautiful as the exterior, but Romona concentrated on not staring too obviously. Although many old houses were gloomy, this one had been skilfully renovated at some stage to let in the light, and it was furnished with a magnificent mixture of old and new pieces.

Author took her into a large room that opened out onto a wide veranda.
