Aria’s POV

“Stand down,” Viktor said coolly, without turning his head. His voice wasn’t raised, but it sliced through the air sharply.

The vampires obeyed immediately, halting in their movement, but they hissed threateningly as they eyed Knox and I with hatred, while some eyed Lilith with curiosity.

Knox growled, and the wolves behind him stopped in their tracks.

Shawn stepped forward slightly, his eyes scanning me from head to toe. He didn’t speak, but the slight nod of his head and the relief in his expression were enough. I gave him a soft smile in return.

Silence fell again. It was the kind of silence that came before something exploded.

Viktor narrowed his eyes at Knox. “Your mate brought back my mate and child, but I won't forget that you killed them. So, the next time I see you—” he said, his voice dropped. “I won’t hesitate to kill you.”
