Chapter 3

RENEE

This frigging place is a s*x club; that’s all that was running through my mind as I walked in with Jax.

When I spotted that woman getting eaten out like that, I had to hold my thighs together. I didn’t think watching someone in real life could be so thrilling and such a turn-on.

I was happy to see Paula, but when I walked into the booth, I was surprised to see her sitting on a guy’s lap. His hands were all over her as they were watching the other couple kiss.

Paula knew I would be uncomfortable with all this; why would she think I would like it?

And don’t get me started on Jax. When Paula mentioned his name, I kept imagining moaning it out loud. The guy was like a s*x god on legs; I was the human sacrifice he would devour in one.

I had to leave the booth; it was getting too crowded for my liking. I needed to catch my breath; as I stepped out of the booth, all I could hear was moaning. I glanced to one side; a man had a woman up against the wall and sucking her neck, it looked like, but as I stared, I could see blood trickling down her neck.

Fuck, he was drinking her blood.

I looked away and noticed the lady’s bathroom ahead of me. I walked toward it and pulled open the door to step in.

The bathroom was empty, which made me sigh in relief.

I walked over to the mirror and glanced at myself.

My cheeks were flushed.

I still looked good, but I felt so out of place.

After a few seconds, the door opened, and I couldn’t help but glance toward it through the mirror.

My eyebrows shot up as Jax strolled in and stood behind me. His eyes met mine. “You okay?” he asked as he placed his hands on my hips and turned me around to face him.

I looked back at him as I faced him and leaned on the sink. “It’s not what I thought,” I muttered.

“Oh, I gathered,” he said, his hands still on my hips. “You seem to be into watching, especially when we came here and the video too.”

I couldn’t help but blush and look away.

“Don’t do that,” he said as he moved one hand to my chin and made me look back at him again. “You, princess, are something.”

I frowned.

“What does that mean?” I asked.

Jax moves toward me, closing the gap. His thumb caressed my chin as he stared down at me. I have to admit; I liked the way he was with me. It was different from what I was used to.

“I don’t mean it to be anything, Renee,” he said. The way he said my name felt like he was trying it out for the first time. He bit his lip as his eyes moved from mine to my lips, then back up again.

He sighed as he ran his tongue over the bottom lip.

I stared at him for a moment. I needed to tell him what I wanted. “Look, how does this work?” I asked him. His eyes met mine as I carried on. “I mean, what do you want?”

Jax took a step back from me and sighed. “Okay, I guess Paula never told you what this club is truly about,” he said. I shook my head, and he carried on. “Paula is a frequent visitor here,” he said. I couldn’t help but raise my eyebrows slightly. She has been coming here for a long time and didn’t tell me.

Jax smirked. “Oh, our Paula and Vance are an item when they come together,” he said.

Does that mean Vance’s her boyfriend or something?

“No, they’re not a couple,” he said, which made me c**k my head to the side to look at him. How did he know what I was thinking?

“How did you know that’s what I was thinking?” I asked.

Jax lets a little laugh slip out. “I just guessed I might be a vampire,” he said. “We don’t read minds or anything.”

I felt embarrassed, and I didn’t know anything about his kind.

“What are you all anyway?” I asked.

“Well, Riley and Ward are together,” he said. “And they are vampires, so am I. But Vance is what you call a rogue werewolf, a lone wolf if you will.”

I nodded.

“This club was made by a vampire who wanted people to know what we are,” he said. “He wanted all supernatural beings to experience life with humans. We get to share and experience everything.”

“So this isn’t a s*x club then,” I asked.

He shook his head. “That part came when a human wanted to f**k a vampire and werewolf,” he said. “It was part of the video you were watching outside.”

“f**k,” I muttered.

Jax smirked. “Paula has never mentioned you to us, never by name until tonight,” he said. “Well, she mentioned you to the others, not me. She thought we would get along or something.”

I didn’t say anything, but I could see why she thought we would get along. He was someone I would go for back in the day, the day before the jerk.

I shuddered, which didn’t go unnoticed by Jax. He frowned. “What’s wrong?” he asked as he stepped closer.

I sighed.

“It’s not you,” I said. “I was with someone for two years who I thought was the one, but he wasn’t. He controlled everything I did, even down to sex.”

I can’t believe I’m discussing this with a complete stranger, a vampire no less.

“He would control where we went, what I wore, and even what I ate,” I said. “He wanted a skinny girlfriend.”

I heard a hiss and stared at Jax. His eyes were red.

I moved my hands quickly and gripped the sink behind me.

Jax closed his eyes and took deep breaths. After a few moments, his eyes were back to normal. “Sorry,” he said. “I got angry and wanted to kill him.”

I gave him a small smile. “I would have taken you up on that a year ago,” I said. “It was a year ago that I left him. I caught him in the arms of another woman.”

Another hiss escaped, but Jax moved toward me, closing the gap between us. “What prick would do that to a gorgeous woman?” he asked as he played with my hair.

I couldn’t help but breathe hard.

This guy made me feel things I haven’t felt in a long time.

I stared up at him.

“Renee,” he whispered. “Let me show you what a real man can do, how to please you.”

I stared, but I couldn’t help my mouth feel dry suddenly.

Jax leaned into me. His chest rested against me, but something poking my abdomen got my eyes to bug out. I knew what it was, and he was turned on.

I gulped. “Let me do things to you,” he said. “One night only. Anything you want, I will do. This will be your night.”

His breath fanned my face as he hovered close to my lips. “I will make you come all night long,” he muttered. “I will make you scream my name so loud.” It was like slow motion. His teeth grazed over his bottom lip, and I could only think about kissing him.

“You tell me what you want,” he said without any more words. He slammed his mouth on mine, and his tongue slid into my mouth as his body held me in place.

Fuck, this felt so good, and I kissed him back with much more need.
