“Feel what, princess?” His warm breath fanned my face.

What did he just call me? Princ—me a princess?

“Don't you ever call me that again!” I snapped, still not backing down.

“And if I do? What will you do, Captain? Make me skate more laps in practice?”

He leaned in a little more, his lips brushing dangerously close to my ear.

"Your heart is beating so loud, Alpha, I can hear it from across the room.”

My mind went blank. The voice in my ear, the heat from his body, the sweet smell… he was right, my heart was beating from anger. I wanted to push him away. I wanted to hit him. Punch him until he lost a few teeth. But my body was not listening to my brain. It was just standing there, frozen. My wolf, Ford, was roaring inside me. He wanted to be closer to him.

"Shut the fuck up," I retorted in a low, broken growl. It was a stupid thing to say, I know. And it was totally useless in this situation. But it was all I could come up with.
