Riven

Stiles just looked at me, with a serious face on. He wasn't even joking, and I could feel it. I pulled my shirt back up, dropping my hands from the hem.

"What do you mean I can't stay here?" I asked, my voice low and a bit tight.

Stiles sighed and ran a hand through his hair. "Alpha, you know I cannot say no to you. But… you can't stay here. There are four of us already. They may not be here now, but they'll be back from the party any moment."

I shook my head, shrugging my shoulders. "What do I care? I'll sleep on the floor. It's not a big deal."

"What? It is a big deal, Riven!" he said, his voice getting louder. "Three of them plus me and you. The room will be so crowded. And they will ask questions. What will I tell them? That the Alpha is sleeping on the floor?"

His words hit me hard. A fresh wave of shame washed over me. He was right. It would be degrading. My pride was already bruised, and this would just grind it into the dirt. An Alpha's son, fleeing his own house, and sl

Author’s POV.On the round table, five men sat—two at the left, two at the right. In the middle was another, in a black suit, that looked more expensive than the room itself. He was the head of all four, the owner of the ground they all stood on. The Alpha of Silverfangs.Alpha Blackthorn. He was seated with his allies.“What do you think now? We finally got what we wanted,” Alpha Blackthorn said. The men nodded in agreement.“Indeed we did. And there's no doubt that boy is good—perfect. So clean, swift, more professional than we imagined,” the scarred man praised.“Imagine the audacity to step into the Sthors’ territory and kill him right under the nose of such tight security,” another with grey hair said.“Yes… he is no doubt very good at what he does. We had the best—the very best,” a familiar voice added. The voice of the Vice Chancellor.Alpha Blackthorn breathed, eyes narrowed even in the dimly lit room.“We are not here to discuss how he did his job. We paid for the services, a

Riven.I swallowed hard. I didn’t even know how I was going to explain this to him.“Listen, Stiles. It’s…”Phew!“Look, my case and your own, and like… I don’t know how to make this sound, but like, I just don’t do guys. I only do Sky, if that makes sense?” I stated with an awkward, questioning face.He shook his head. “No, what are you saying? It doesn’t at all,” he retorted.I swallowed hard.“Okay, hear me out. It’s not like we are… I mean, like…” I stuttered, looking for a better explanation. “This is not me liking guys, Stiles. It’s like… he is my mate,” I said, dropping the bomb.I saw him freeze, brows furrowed.“Mate? What mate?” he asked.“Mate. Stiles,” I said, nodding.“Mate? Like mate mate? The kind of Moon Goddess–assigned mate? Like your life partner kind of mate?” he asked again.“Yes.”“What the fuck?!” he cursed. He stepped backward, away from me, his hand flying to his hair, scratching in a spirit of shock.Then—Wait.His finger pointed in the air like he had just

Stiles,I was at the bed, still lying there, waiting for nothing. The only sound in the room was that of the monitor.Sky and Riven had gone out, but before Sky went out of the room, he had mentioned that Riven was still here at the medic, and that he took a bed.I knew it was because of me. He was always here for me, and this time he had proved it again. He was staying back at the medic just to make sure I wasn’t alone in this.I don’t know when I fell asleep, with my head resting on Grey’s bed. I woke up and instantly realized where I was. I raised my head to look at him.But when I did, I saw Grey’s hand move. I jolted up, and I caught his eyes—they were narrowly opened.“Grey,” I called. His eyes moved. Slightly.Fuck. He was awake. He was awake.I moved straight to call the doctor. A few seconds later, and the doctor followed suit. But then, I remembered Riven and Sky.I should tell them too.Sky wasn’t outside when I came out of the emergency room. He had probably taken my advic

Sky.This was what I meant when I said, I got a pro version of Riven. All these confessions kept coming free. His eyes dropped, gaze fixing on my lips, his eyes flicked gold. I knew at that point what he wanted. Me.“Come here,” he said, as his hand found my chin, nudging me closer to himself. His lips softly placed themselves on mine. My eyes closed, simultaneously with his, as I soaked in the beauty of this moment. My hand moved back to his waist, shifted, until it got to his ass. I squeezed it softly.“Mnnn,” he murmured into my mouth. Then, he pulled away. His gaze on my lips, his breathing a little unsteady. Coming out in hot wraps. His eyes shifted to mine. He bit his lip, tucking it briefly in-between his teeth.“I want you, Skyler,” he said.I paused, eyes a little wide in surprise.“What?” I asked in a small chuckle. His hand pulled my face closer again, leaning in slowly, until my lips were just there, so close to his, mine, aching to be touched by his.“I want you, Skyler.”

SkyAfter I had spent time with Stiles and Grey, I knew that Riven was still somewhere in that place. I wasn't really doing anything with Grey. Stiles had said he would wait for Grey even when I told him it was okay and that I would take care of him.So right now, I was moving back to the counter.“Hi,” I greeted one of the nurses behind the counter.“Hello, how can we help you?” an elderly nurse responded.“Please, ma, I need to see the Alpha,” I requested.“I was with him.”She nodded slowly.“Follow me,” she said as she came out from behind the counter, and I followed her. After a few steps, we finally got to the place—a door. I think they gave him somewhere that seemed a little bit more secluded from where Grey was. More like the ‘special treatment for number one citizen of the pack’ thing, I guess.“Here, this is it,” she said.I nodded.“Thank you so much,” I responded with a short bow, and she left.Slowly, I pushed the door open. And I saw him.Riven.He was there, lying comfo

Sky.I was still sitting alone here, still contemplating what would be done when Gray finally woke up. I just prayed he survived this.I had vividly recalled a time when he and I were talking and he explicitly told me that he was allergic to certain foods, and the top of the chart was shrimp. He had told me that shrimp was like a poison to him.And he was so serious about it, and now, the more I thought about it, the more I felt the need to meet him in that bed and give him a resounding slap for endangering his life like that.I still would slap him if he woke up.But then, that was if he did survive this because… what I was seeing from the emergency unit, it wasn't looking like life anymore. It was struggle. Full-time struggle. How could he not just tell Stiles that he was allergic to shrimp? I mean, who puts their lives at such a drastic risk just to please other people? And to crown it all, he lied that it was his favourite food.A life-threatening, suicidal lie.I breathed. A deep
