CHAPTER THREE

After we had finished dinner, I went to my room to try and get some sleep. Mitchelle had mind-linked everyone telling us that the morning would come early so we all decided to go to bed.

I woke up just as the light began to pool in my room. A yawn escaped my lips and I stretched my arms. I looked around and smiled before getting up and getting ready. After I picked out a deep red skirt and a black blouse, I went into my bathroom for a hot shower. As soon as I turned the nob, the ceiling above the shower began to rain down on the ground. Oh I'm beginning to love this place. I stepped into the water after stripping and let the hot water melt the stiffness of my bones. I gently washed my dirty blonde hair and then cleaned my skin. Once I was done I stepped out and dried myself off. I pulled on my clothes, then dried my hair. I was never the type of girl to do something with it. It fell in lazy curls that I never found the need to tame. I decided that I looked good and that I was ready to head downstairs.

Lily was already downstairs and I walked over to her , When I got to her another girl came up. It was that girl from the train. Heck, I didn't even remember her name.

"Hey." She said. There was a nervous smile on her face. "I just wanted to apologize for what I did yesterday. I was sooo out of place when I said that."

I gave her a small polite smile. "It's fine. No damage done." She let out a sigh of relief.

"Thank the goddess. I don't know if you remember, but my name is Trish." She held out her hand and I took it. She had soft red curls that fell down her back. Her skin was the perfect light tan. She was pretty. I could see Jackson's interest in her.

"Hey Trish. I'm Yvonne." She nodded.

"Who's this?" She asked turning to Lily.

"She's the real princess of Blue Valley." Trish smiled.

"Hi, what's your name?"

"Lily." She was shy, as always.

I giggled a little at her disposition. "She isn't used to attention." Trish nodded and just smiled at her.

At that point Mitchelle had come in. "Morning girls."

We all replied with a good morning. "Now, today is going to be very rigorous. You will be asked millions of questions, and pushed to your limits.

Don't let that discourage any of you. You are all strong girls and I know you all can handle it." She paused to look us over. "I'm sure you are all ready to get started, so let's get a move on." Mitchelle walked out the doorway and towards a larger building in the backyard. We followed silently, just listening to nature and the world around us. When we got to the building she stopped and turned to us with a smile. "Ladies, welcome to the Training house." The door opened to reveal tons of people.

Men and women were training off to the right while others were running around a track to the left. In the center there was a basketball court along with a few volleyball nets. This was heaven for me. I was always more accustomed to this setting. It was like

home.

"Form two lines, please. We will get you all to a tester and this process will go much smoother. If you already have an idea on where you will be, get into this line." A man gestured to the right. "If you don't know, then get in this line." He pointed to the left.

I crossed over to the right and stood beside Trish.

"What do you think you'll be?" I asked, curiosity obviously eating at me.

She smiled at me. "Tracker. My sniffer is the best in my pack." She tapped her nose. "You?"

I smiled just like she had. "Warrior, I mean, obvious reasons." I laughed and so did she.

"Yeah, you give off a warrior vibe. I can see that."

She laughed again and I smiled.

We advanced forward in the line until we were eventually split apart. I walked over to a cubicle to see a man sitting on the other side. I gave him a polite smile and he gestured for me to sit. "Name?"

"Yvonne." I said, hoping he didn't need a last name.

He glanced up at me. "Full name please." I cringed inwardly.

"I actually don't have a surname. My parents never decided on it." I lied.

He sat up and crossed his arms on the table.

"Everyone here has a first, middle, and last name.

Can you please tell me yours?"

Ilooked him in the eye and felt my wolf getting a little jumpy at him. "Fine.

Sophelia Sinclair Desperte." His head shot up and I nodded.

"Alright." I watched his adam's apple bob as he gulped. "What do you think you are going to be categorized as?"

'Great, now he's gonna be terrified.' I shrugged off my other half and answered.

"A warrior." He gulped again, starting to become scared of me.

"Alright. Please follow him to a mat." He gestured to a man standing by the end of the cubicles.

I nodded and stood. "Will do, oh, and don't be scared. I'm just like all of you."

You may ask, why is he scared? It's simple. My dad is why he's scared. He's sort of a legend at this school. Boss ass fighter, strong as nails, never moved for anyone, oh and he almost killed hundreds of opponents in the ring. Yeah, that's my father's legacy here. My dad isn't a mean guy. He doesn't just run around taking over packs. That's just not him. Sadly, most don't know the truth so they immediately think the worst.

Anyways, I walked up to the man and smiled at him. "I was told to come to you so you could take me to a mat?"

The man smiled back. "Yeah. So you wanna be a warrior?" I nodded. "You must be pretty strong then, huh?"

I laughed. He was talking to me like I was a child.

"I think I've got some skills, yeah. My dad taught me everything I know." He nodded, obviously he hasn't found out who my dad is yet, good.

"Well let's see what you got kid. Step into the circle." I nodded and walked over the white painted line. "Alright. I'll start you off on an easy setting and build it up as we go. Tell me when you can't take any more." I nodded and got into a beginning stance.

The man clicked a button and a man appeared in front of me. He was obviously synthetic, because it was just white. There was no detailing or anything.

The figure stalked closer to me, but didn't attack. I noticed it stumbling a little. Easy, too easy. I stood up and crossed my arms. This thing wasn't even worth defending against. It noticed my change in posture and lunged at me. I sidestepped and let it fall on its chest. The figure slowly stood up. It got back into attack mode and I rolled my eyes.

"Go up a level." I told the man.

The figure stood straight then went back into a fighting stance. It wasn't as clumsy, but still. It waited to see what I would do, but when I started looking at my nails it lunged at me. I jumped up to avoid its low blow then landed on its back. I took one of the figures legs and pulled it towards me while grabbing its arms with my other hand. I let my knee press down on the side of its face while I turned it into a pretzel. When I stood up and yawned the man laughed.

"Spunky. I'll kick it up a few levels. That okay?" I nodded.

Another figure appeared in front of me as the other disappeared. The skin of this one was yellow. "Does color represent hostility?" I asked.

The man had a hint of humor in his eyes. "You're a quick one. Yes, it does. This is medium."

I nodded and turned back to the figure. It made a slight growling noise and I raised my eyebrows admiring it. They had good tech. My dad had similar training specs. I lowered myself to a ready position. The figure started to circle me, so I circled it. It wasn't stumbling this time. It actually looked sure footed. The arms still looked weak, but strong enough to pin me. I smirked, not that it would ever get that far into this fight.

It decided to make the first move as it tried to land a punch on my stomach. I swiped my hand downwards to block it then struck my palm upward under its chin. The figure staggered backwards then focused back on me. This time it took a much higher approach. It tried to punch my face, but I ducked and swiped my leg out. It fell onto its back and I smirked. I placed a hand on its chest and striked hard right above its heart the figure jerked upward at my strike. To a wolf that would be fatal.

To this thing, it was just another hit. My hand kept the figure down as my other hand started to rip its head off. The hands of the figure fought with my grip, not sure of which hand to focus on. After a few seconds its head came off and it disappeared.

I turned to the man and crossed my arms. "Next level." He shook his head and laughed but turned up the dial.

I turned to see a red figure. Finally, maybe this one will take some effort. I thought to myself.

The figure stalked towards me and reached for my throat. I growled and grabbed its wrist. The figure ripped its hand from my grip and grabbed my waist and threw me over its shoulder. So this is how you wanna play? Can do robot. I rocked my feet up to flip it over. I landed on my back. The figure's head a was bent and a little broken off. I gripped the broken head and ripped it off the rest of the way.

By now I had a crowd.

"Next level?" I asked and he nodded, not laughing anymore.

I smirked and turned to the violently red and blinking figure. It let out a feral growl, but one erupted from my lips that was ever deeper. The figure ran at me and when I jumped it grabbed my ankles and threw me back down onto the ground.

Before it could attack me I pushed myself off the ground with my hands and shoved my feet into its stomach. The figure flew backwards but quickly got up and ran towards me. It flung a few punches towards my stomach but I dodged them. It grabbed me by my waist and I plunged my elbow into the figure's side, then slammed my foot on the inner part of its foot. My elbow flung up to its nose then finished with a deafening blow to its groin. The figure let go of me and I turned to punch it directly in the face. It fell onto its back twitching. To assure it's death, I put my knees on either side of the robot, and pried its head off.

I turned to the man. "The name's Yvonne, and that's why I think I should be a warrior."

The man stepped into the ring as the figure disappeared. "Well, it's nice to meet you. Can you fight that well in your wolf?"

I shrugged. "Yeah, but I don't normally fight with my wolf."

He raised an eyebrow. "Why?"

"No reason. It's just that I do better on two feet than four." I crossed my arms.

"We will see. Can you shift for me?" I know he only asked it that way so he didn't seem rude. He was actually ordering me to do so.

I signed. "I'd rather not. She isn't the prettiest thing."

'I am gorgeous. Please let me flaunt my fur.' My other half pleaded.

"I don't care what she looks like. I need to know what her strengths are." I sighed again. He wasn't gonna give up. At this point there was a huge crowd.

"Not here. There are too many people." I said glancing at the crowd that had appeared.

The man rolled his eyes at them. "BACK TO WORK!" His voice boomed and everyone but me cringed. "Better?" He asked turning to me.

"They can still see. My dad has this big rule about me not shifting in front of other people." I gave him an honest look and he rolled his eyes.

"Fine." He turned to look for someone. Mitchelle came walking over to us with an air of grace around her.

"Yes?" She looked between me and the man.

"You and I are coming to see this girl shift in a private training room." He began to walk off and I followed.

Mitchelle walked beside me. "Dear, why are you doing this?"

I glanced at her. "You'll see."
