CHAPTER TWO

I stayed at the cabin until they made a command for all students to return to their seats. I sulked back to my car, hoping no one would notice me come in. The car door slowly slid open and I noticed the silence. I lifted my head and walked in to sit down. My pride wouldn't let me hide my face.

The moment I stepped in people started clapping. I looked around in confusion. Everyone's faces showed one emotion, shock.

My other half perked up. 'They respect us Yvonne.'

I glanced around and then sat down. I raised my hands and they stopped. Maybe school wouldn't be as bad as I thought it would be.

********

After we emptied out of the train, our class was separated into boys and girls. There were separate dorms for both genders. We followed silently behind an administrator. "Hello ladies." We all said a simple hello and she smiled. "My name is Mitchelle. I would like to be the first to welcome you to your new home for the next few years. Now I know that drama can erupt when you put girls together. It's inevitable, and since you all have Alpha blood it can be even worse. As a precaution, all of you will receive injections to keep your wolf's anger down. You will not lose contact with your wolf, nor will you lose the ability to shift. The injection is only there to mellow out your wolf. Any objections before I go any further?" No one objected so she smiled. "Good. Follow me please." We slowly walked to a large gothic style building. It was gorgeous. It was made out of tan bricks and there were archways everywhere. When we got inside you could hear everyone's awed gasps. There were beautiful black marble tiles on the floor only to reflect the light gray stone walls that soared above our heads. On the ceiling were paintings of werewolves, sort of like a story. It was completely beautiful. "I am leading you to your class infirmary.

This is your class dorm building. Each class has their own dorm, so you have no need to worry about bumping into anyone outside of your class." Everything was spectacular. My brother had told me that everything was fancy, but I had never expected all of this. "After you each get your injections, a guard will lead you to your dorm room." We lined up at a hospital room and filed in one by one. A few girls seemed drowsy, but no one seemed hurt so I wasn't worried. Once it was my turn I sat down and closed my eyes. I felt a small pinch then it was over. My feet touched the ground and I walked out of the room. A man motioned for me to walk past him and I did. I passed beside the line that was not as long anymore. Once we were past the end of the line he began to lead me to my room.

After a few minutes of walking he opened a light brown door that had a rounded top and a black gargoyle like knocker. "Thank you." I said before I walked in. The room was beautiful. There was a queen size canopy bed against the wall to the right.

I walked in further and opened a door to inspect its interior. In front of me stood a huge closet large enough for me to walk into. There was another door on the other side of the room, and as I expected, it was a bathroom. There was a white bathtub in the corner and a shower along the wall to the right. On the left there was a vanity mirror along with a basin sized sink. I walked back out and admired the room. The walls were a dark gray that matched the carpet's burgundy red color beautifully. The bed sheets were a mixture of gray and burgundy to match the room. The dressers were a deep red wood that gave the room even more of a rich feel than it already had. All in all, it reminded me of my parents room. I plopped down on my bed and practically moaned at how soft it was. My hands ran over the surface indulging in the feeling when I heard a loud squeal.

"Omg! Yvonne!" Now this was the daughter of the Blue Valley Alpha. Lily Portland. She was an all around sweet girl. Everyone loved her, including me.

"Lily." I smiled at her as she wrapped her arms around my neck. I had known her since I was just a pup. I didn't lie when I said I lived close to that Jackson guy. My pack is pretty much right beside Blue Valley Territory. My dad and her dad are very close friends and we used to spend time with each other all of the time.

"I can't believe you're here, this is amazing! I thought I was going to have to deal with these people by myself." I laughed at her flustered face and she pouted.

"I'd never let you go through all of this alone. Trust me. This is a form of torture called high school, but worse. Now were fully surrounded by egotistical bitches and jerks." She laughed as she agreed with me.

"Alright, so dinner is in an hour and all we have to wear is this." She gestured to her clothes.

"Shouldn't we change into our uniforms?" I nodded. Although I had originally hated the idea, I had grown used to it. It wasn't all bad. I could wear pants if I wanted to, just in case I went into heat which is a definite possibility. I pulled on a long sleeve white shirt and a pleated gray skirt. I pulled my hair back with a red headband and admired myself. When I was happy with how I looked I walked over to Lily who was laying on my bed.

"Ready?"

Just as I was about to answer, a voice roamed through my head. 'Dinner downstairs in twenty minutes. You'll smell the food.'

I looked back to Lily. "Ready as I'll ever be."

She jumped off the bed and brushed down her skirt. "Then let's go." We slowly trailed down the stairs and towards the smell of food. Once we got there, there were possibly ten other girls waiting. I smiled politely and they smiled back. "I wish I was more like you. Everyone respects you because of your dad. Me, everyone thinks I'm a joke." She paused before picking up speed. "Not that my dad is weak or anything because he isn't. It's just we don't really get a lot of problems so we don't really have a reputation."

I nodded. "Your ancestors picked a great place for your pack though. The Valley was an incredible burst of genius. It's hard to get to plus you have a nice stream running right through the middle of your territory. And don't even get me started on the view from your room." She giggled a little as I made her feel better. "Besides. Once they get a good look at my 'wolf' it won't just be my dad they respect." I made air quotes as I said wolf.

She nodded. "I still don't think it's a good idea for you to shift around people. Your dad told you that you could get hurt. You're weak in between shifting  and if you get caught that way, it could be deadly." Lily hated trying to convince me against my will, so I knew she really meant it when she said it.

"I know, but if I don't then I'll be eaten alive here.

Once the shock of who my dad is goes away I'll be the girl that's afraid to show her 'wolf'. That isn't the best picture for me to present to all of these destined Alphas."

Lily nodded and sighed. "At least try and keep your

'wolf' under wraps. If you need my help just ask."

She also put air quotes around the word wolf.

I nodded. "I will, thanks." Lily always watched over me, even though it wasn't her job.

Mitchelle walked into the room as everyone else piled in. "It's lovely to see all of you again." She smiled as she looked at each of us. "Now, tomorrow is a very special day. You will be categorized for your strengths. Since women rarely become Alphas, sorry ladies, we will see what else you are capable of." Her smile became a little sad. She was right. Even if a female was the only heir in the bloodline there was a slim chance she'd get the position. Normally the Beta's son, or even the Gamma's son would get the position before her.

"You will be categorized based on whether you are a better warrior, caretaker, tracker, or navigator.

Your classes will be based off of this categorization.

Now, you will learn a bit of everything, but your category decides what we will focus on." She smiled brightly. "Enjoy your dinner ladies. If you need anything just mind-link me." Her figure gracefully turned to leave us.

"Well I know where I'm going to be placed." I joked dryly.

Lily laughed a little. "Yeah. You're definitely a warrior through and through. But you know they're gonna make you show your wolf, right?"

I nodded. There was no way around it. Either fake being good at something else so I didn't have to shift or risk someone trying to hurt me. "Well I'm gonna go for it. I don't want to be stuck doing something I hate just to hide myself. I'm not going to live like that." Lily nodded. "If I have to shift, I'll tell them before I do, that way they know, okay?" I lied. If I told them then they'd drag me to a safe place and hide me even further than I already was.

Nonetheless, Lily nodded. "Good. Now let's eat. I'm starving.

"Me too."

We delved into the plates of food being passed around. The food was amazing, but not as good as my mom's. I already missed both of my parents.

This is going to be a long year.
