Last Resort

Author's POV.

"Wow, that sounds exciting," Leonard chuckled darkly. "Can I help with anything?"

"The last time you attempted doing so, you ended up being the selfish bastard that you'll always be," Roman retorted, keeping the ring back in the box.

"I am not here as the boss' messenger. I am here as your friend," Leonard smirked, taking another bite of the apple. "I just wanna help, can't I do that?"

"No, you can't. I can handle this all on my own. I don't need anyone telling me the pros and cons of my plans. I have everything settled," Roman chuckled, then sucked in a deep breath.

He opened the drawer by his side and put the engagement box carefully into it.

"I said that I didn't need your help, why are you still here?" Roman's lips curved downwards.

"Have you done the task that the boss told you to do?" Leonard asked.

"I thought that you were here as my friend, why are you asking that?" Roman scoffed.

Leonard's eyes were on the verge of rolling.
