I ignored Caramel, turned on my heels to look at Becca with poison laced in my eyes and shoved Caramel out of my way, leaving out the door. I only managed to hear her ask Becca what my deal was before moving out of earshot.

I was grateful that I had changed out of my wet clothes. Downstairs, Justine was seated on a couch, his face buried in his hands. On my arrival, he shot his head up to look at me. I could not exactly decide on how to react to his presence.

I stared at him blankly and grabbed a jacket I found hanging on a nail by the door, not caring which one of my sisters it belonged to.

I violently opened the door, touching my back pocket to confirm whether there was still change in there for me. Once I was certain I wouldn't end up getting stranded, I slammed the door behind me and headed straight to the bus stop, knowing the best place for me to go at the moment was to be with a man of distraction.
