VIVIAN

The next day came faster than I expected. I barely slept through the night. My mind kept replaying the plan.

Every time I closed my eyes, I imagined what could go wrong.

By morning, my stomach was tight, with anxiety. I stood in front of the dressing mirror, staring at my reflection for the umpteenth time.

I smoothed down the same strand of hair I had fixed before, then looked at my clothes, then at my face. My hands wouldn’t stay still.

I asked Zander softly, “Do I look okay?”

Behind me, Zander let out a sigh. I heard the sound of his footsteps as he moved closer. “Babe,” he said, his voice steady but a little tired, “this is the fourth time you’re asking me that question.”

I turned slightly to face him, biting my lip. He was right, but I couldn’t help it. My nerves made me repeat things.

“And for the fourth time,” he added, his eyes locking onto mine, “I’m telling you that you look perfect.”

His words should have settled me, but I still felt anxious. I frowned a little, turn

ZANDERMy mind was still spinning from Derek’s words, but I forced myself to focus. Sitting around in silence wouldn’t help us.Anger was heavy in my chest, but I needed to keep my head clear. If I didn’t, I could lose everything.“I have an idea too,” I said, my voice coming out firm. “But let’s hear yours first, Joanna.”Her eyes met mine, and for a second she studied me, as if weighing if she should speak or not. Then she gave a small nod.“Fine,” she said, turning her gaze to everyone in the room. “But I want you all to think carefully before answering me.”We leaned closer, waiting for her to continue. My stomach twisted with both curiosity and impatience. Whatever she had in mind, I knew it wouldn’t be simple. She let the silence drag for a moment, then asked, “How would you all feel about changing your face?”For a moment, none of us spoke. We just stared at her. I felt my own brows pull together, trying to understand what she meant.Lucas frowned deeply. Priestess Tanya’s lips

ZANDERWhen our wolves finished healing our bodies, Lucas and I finally made it back home.My muscles still ached faintly, but the wounds were gone. The crash had shaken me in ways I could not put into words. Isla’s face stayed in my mind and the moment Lucas told me she was taken kept replaying again and again. We freshened up quickly. I barely noticed the water running down my skin as I showered. My thoughts were elsewhere. Every drop felt like a reminder of my failure. I had promised myself I would keep her safe, but she was gone and so was Vivian.Lucas looked quiet too as we dressed. I could tell the guilt was eating him up. His shoulders hung heavy, and his eyes stayed downcast.I wanted to tell him it wasn’t his fault, but the truth was, we both felt responsible. When we were ready, we didn’t waste time. We headed straight to Priestess Tanya’s house. The air outside felt colder than usual, like the world itself knew something dark had happened.Reaching her house, I felt my c

ZANDER“Shit! Shit! Shit!”The words slipped from my mouth repeatedly as I stared at Lucas’s phone. My hands were shaking so hard I almost dropped it. I couldn’t look away from the screen even though I wanted to smash it into pieces.Andromeda smiled, her lips curled, like she had been waiting for this moment all along. Behind her, a circle of glowing light appeared in the air, and it wasn’t just light—it was a portal.A portal to somewhere unknown. I knew it because my chest went cold the second it appeared. And Andromeda… she stepped into it with Vivian. My Vivian. She pulled her through like she was nothing but a toy in her hands and she didn't even mind if Vivian was pregnant or not.I couldn’t breathe well. I couldn’t even think.I had promised Vivian that I would never let anything happen to her. I had kissed her forehead this morning and told her she was safe. Now she was gone.Snatched right in front of me while I sat here thinking I had everything under control. My whole body

VIVIAN When I drove into Derek’s residence, my eyes went straight to the front of the house. My heart almost stopped when I saw Derek himself walking out of the entrance door. But he wasn’t alone. Andromeda was walking right beside him. Her steps were calm, steady, and almost too confident. Her face carried a sharpness that was hard to ignore. My chest tightened. The moment my eyes landed on her, the small micro camera clipped on my chest area must have caught Andromeda because my phone buzzed with a notification. I lowered my gaze, pretending to adjust my dress, and checked my phone quickly. A text from Isla had just come in. That’s her. Andromeda. The witch. I knew it. My stomach sank as I looked back up at her. From the very first moment I saw her before, something inside me had whispered that she was not just another woman Derek had pulled into his schemes. She was too strange. Her presence felt heavy, unnatural. Everything in me had screamed that she was danger

VIVIAN Zander stood near the door for a while before coming closer. His face looked serious, and I could tell he had thought this through over and over in his study. The room suddenly felt heavier as I waited for him to explain what this plan was. My heart beat a little faster, and I sat straighter, waiting. Then he said it.“A flamethrower.”I blinked, confused. My brows rose instantly before I could even stop myself. His words sounded sharp in the quiet room, and for a moment, I thought maybe I had heard him wrong.“What?” I asked, my voice low.I tilted my head at him, searching his face for some sign that he was joking. But he wasn’t. His eyes held mine, calm and steady, as if the word made perfect sense to him.I let out a small breath and leaned forward a little. “A flamethrower?” I repeated. “You have to explain more.”He nodded slowly, not looking away. “A flamethrower is the best thing to use on Andromeda,” he said. “Derek’s old witch.”I sat there staring at him, still not
