Chapter:06: Disowned

“You never told us, you were having a family reunion party over!” 

Mrs. Remas said, upon stomping on the chaotic atmosphere in the Crowther villa. despite knowing the situation that prompted this, she chose to take a different view of the whole situation.

“It's not what you think Mrs. REMAS, I can elucidate on this, please!” 

Mr. Crowther said, after seeing how aggravated the Remas looked.

“Elucidate? How will you do that? Will you tell us that the news is saying your daughter's shameful act is untrue? 

“Will you try to convince us with the story of how righteous and decent your daughter is? 

Mrs. Remas said with a tone of sarcastic mocking.

Mrs. Remas has always been against the romantic relationship between her son Gabriel and Chloe. 

When she learned that Mr. Crowther had married a low-level woman, and also Chloe was birthed by a woman from a low-class background, her resentment towards Chloe heightened.

Even when they were still little kids, she would find a way to humiliate Chloe, trying to create a conflict between the children but their friendship manages to survive the test of time. 

Then suddenly, she came to know that Mr. Crowther had another child from a better background.

And not only that, Matilda was her friend back in college. 

Ever since that time she has been scouting for a way to get rid of Chloe and have her son married to Maddie instead.

Knowing Matilda's personality, she would find a way to make her daughter Maddie the only heiress to the Crowther's properties, and if that happens when her son is already married to Maddie, then their corporations will become the town of the town, and they might even have the fall and leverage to compete with the most powerful and wealthiest man in the city.

The man who is the CEO of Clifford Corporation is known far and wide for his influence and affluence. He has control over the economy of the world, and he can afford to dictate how things are trot in the business world.  

Thinking about the possibility of standing tall, side by side with the Cliffords solidified Mrs. Remas resolves to tarnish Chloe's image and get Gabriel to marry Maddie.

She even went as far as collaborating with both Matilda and Maddie to ruin Chloe, they went about Chloe having an affair with some hooligan. she was the one, who shows Gabriel the picture some hours ago, she was able to convince to convinced him to believe that Chloe was never sincere about her love for him.

Hence his reaction towards Chloe earlier.

While Maddie took advance of his searing anger and got him to drink, then he got drunk and she manipulatively got him to spend the night with her in that luxurious hotel room. 

Then she purposefully made a show of it in front of Chloe to get her to retaliate, that way she would get trapped in her scheming nest.

Maddie has always had eyes for Gabriel, but he never paid to her, which fueled the fire of anger she has towards Chloe.

What does Chloe have?

But after he made the declaration about marrying her, earlier in the hotel room, she felt like has able to get her hands on one of the things that matter most to Chloe, and she won't stop until she sees her getting kicked out of the villa, as well as getting disinherited.

And to do that, Mrs. Remas has to ignite the fire.

When the question of how he will explain everything to them and the entire city, was posed at Mr. Crowther, he lost his voice for a couple of minutes.

Then the glittering flashes of light from the camera lenses fell on his face, which is slightly covered with a couple of crinkles.

With a manly roar, he ordered their exits from the mansion immediately.

“Security! 

“Who let all these people into the house! , I want them out of my house immediately ” 

He ordered with his brow knitted together in magnificent Anger.

“Throw them out right now and don't let them back in here ever again, otherwise consider yourself gone” 

“One more question Mrs. Remas, are you still going ahead with the wedding despite everything!? 

One of the lady reporters asked while they were being escorted out of the house.

Mrs. Remas swayed majestically towards the lady in an attempt to answer the question being asked, shortly after she opened her mouth to say something, she turned back and scowled at the family, then she pivots her gaze back at the lady.

 Before she could say what was on her mind, Mr. Crowther butt in, and cut her off.

“This is a family matter, and we will settle it amongst ourselves, you can leave and stop invading our privacy already!” 

“I said take her out of here!

With that, the media were escorted out of the house, leaving them alone to themselves once again.

Gwenneth Remas sneered at the pitiful sight of Chloe before her, then she walks over to her side with a slow-motion, then she crouches in front of her.

With anger in her tone, she lashes out at the already throbbing young lady, who looks like a chicken drenched by a sudden rainfall. 

“Why did you agree to get married to my son in the first place, when this is clearly what you wanted to do? 

“You wanted to make my son a covering haven for your shameful act, after getting married to him? Thank God!, we found out your true colors on time, God knows what would have happened if you had gotten married to my son, Gabriel! 

After saying that, she clenched her fist tightly and thump towards Mr. Crowther. The veins on her forehead were elongated due to the immerse anger in her body. 

“Mr. Crowther is this the virtuous daughter you were talking about? Is she the one you intend to hand over the responsibility of the entire Crowther Corp over to!? 

“If this is your definition of a righteous and virtuous daughter, then I would rather not have one. Then have a lousy brat like her as my child” 

“You should be ashamed of having someone like her related you!” 

Her words pierced through the thick flesh in Chloe's heart, and she felt a clove of emptiness growing deeper into her soul.

Nobody has ever given her much respect in the circle of the upper class, because they see her as a wretched stain on their class, and she has always lived with the fact that she won't be able to do anything in their eyes.

Even when she tried to make a difference, her stepmother and sister will always find a way to thwart her effort.

Brooding over what Mrs. Remas said, Mr. Crowther hung his head in shame. He had never imagined that a day like this would come when someone will question his upbringing, his shrewdness, and his ability to choose the right successor for his company.

The company he has worked so hard to build from scratch.

How could he make a mistake in choosing the right person!?

With a few flickers, he stood in front of Chloe, then screech out with a loud hoarse voice.

“Chloe!!! 

He screeched, moving to seize her with rage but Mrs. Remas stop him.

She walks and stood in front of him with her hands crossed over her breasts.

“There Is no need yelling at her Mr. Crowther. The deed has already been done and there is nothing you can do to change that fact” 

“you have failed to teach her the right and, now this is the result of marrying a woman from a low-class background. A filthy brat will always remain one ”

“She is nothing but a filthy tramp, I won't  allow my family to be associated with you after what your wretched daughter has done ” 

“She has ruined your reputation as well as my family's name. She has made us lose face in the entire city, and now we can't show our faces to the people. talk more about doing business with them”

Gwenneth Remas said, clumping into her dress tightly, then she looks at the faces of the family one after the other. 

“I'm calling off this wedding right now,  oh! also, I will be terminating the contracts between both our companies”

After she said that, the expression on Mr. Crowther changed, his lips twitched vigorously. 

“What? Mrs. Remas you can't do that to us!

“Oh yes! Me. Crowther, I can do so! , I can do whatever I want, and I'm terminating the contracts with the Crowthers with an immediate effect ” 

Mr. Crowther was shaken by her threats if she goes ahead with her intentions then, many investors will turn their backs on the Crowthers. 

Also, many of Gwnneth's friends and family members have invested in the company, if she manages to convince them to pull out, then there will be no way out for the Crowther corporations.

It will be on the verge of bankruptcy.

His efforts will go down the drains since many people might try to pull out their shares from the Crowther corporations.

After a quick thought, he turns his gaze to look at the arrogant woman before him. He looked pitiful. 

 Noticing his sharp gaze fixed on her, Mrs. Remas spoke up first.

“There is no need to give it a try,  isn't convince me to change my mind about calling off the marriage, I won't allow you to drag my family name through the mud along with yours” 

 She flashed Matilda a signal, and she swung into action.

“This is all this wretched girl's fault. I wonder what more trouble we have to face because of her if the investors pulled out because of her presence in the company as the CEO of the Corporation, then we will be rendered helpless in society. We will lose face, I'm telling you!” 

Matilda laments, with tears threatening to fall of her eyelids. 

“Please give us another chance to make it up to you Mrs. Remas ” 

Mr. Crowther pledged, after seeing her walking out through the door.

Before he could say any more thing, Gabriel Remas walk in through the entrance and announced with a loud hoarse voice. 

“I will continue with the partnership with the Crowther Corporation ” 

He said expressionlessly.

When everyone heard what he said, they fixed their eyes on him with curiosity.

Mrs. Remas especially had a stunned expression on her face, pretending to be shocked by his outburst.

She knew beforehand that he was going to take an irrational decision like that after what she told him earlier.

“What are you doing Gabriel? We can't have anything to do with this family! we shouldn't allow ourselves to be dragged through  the mud with them!” 

“I know what I'm doing mom. I want to get married to Maddie as soon as possible" 

He said with a loud tone that echoes through the quiet hall, he wanted Chloe to hear everything that he said.

“She is the right one for me, I can't believe I allow  myself to be fooled by this woman for so long” 

Gabriel said, casting a distasteful glare at Chloe, who had already stand up to her feet. 

“I  can't allow you to marry anyone from this family Gabriel, you can't do that ”

Gwenneth said, clutching his hands tightly in protest.

“We will be castigated in the business world if this girl continues to have a relationship with us. Everyone will spit on us!”

“Mom, we will take care of them later, but now let's face this traitor!"

After listening to Gabriel, Gwenneth moved close to Mr. Crowther and said with a gritted teeth.

“If you still want to have a partnership with the Remas Corporation then, Lulu better get rid of this treacherous girl immediately, otherwise you will have your miserable self to blame for what happened to your entire family and company because of her presence ”

Mr. Crowther was so furious after being insulted by the arrogant woman in front of him.

He had never felt so insulted ever before, but today this mere woman had the guts to rain curses on him all because of all that the girl, he trusted did. 

Glints of anger were visible in his eye, despite his gaze being lowered. After the woman finished talking, he raised his brow slowly and glared disdainfully at Chloe, then he called out to someone. 

“This filthy tramp is no longer part of the Crowther family. Tomorrow I will announce my successor. She doesn't deserve to have my last name after all she has done. She has ruined everything. Her actions have caused me to hang my head in shame, and now I'm on the verge of losing the company because of her"

“Get her out of this house, and don't let her back in here! 

Upon hearing his declaration, Matilda and Maddie smiled at each other in secret, while Chloe was left in tears.

She cluttered herself on the floor, pleading with her father to listen to her, but he didn't give her a chance to explain, instead, he grabbed hold of her and dragged her out of the house.

“I didn't do anything bad!

“Go and don't ever think of coming back here ever again, you don't have any right to stay at the Crowthers. You are nothing but a waste of effort. 

“From now onwards, I don't have a daughter called Chloe. You are dead to me!!

He turned back, but she held his legs crying bitterly.

Nanny and Claire were also wailing along with her, while aunt took Andrea away from the scene.

Andrea ran out of the room in hurry, walking past them, attempting to go meet with Chloe but Matilda caught hold of her. 

“You little brat, you are going to rot here!!!
