Finnick’s POV

“Finnick, wait!” I heard Zayne’s anxious voice call after me as I all but ran from the room.

After hearing the news the Glass Lake Alphas just shared, I had to admit I was panicking. All I knew was I couldn’t sit around and wait for some unseen threat to come for us and destroy the people I loved, no matter how much one of them didn’t want me. I wasn’t the sit and wait kind of person. I had to act.

“Protect mates!” My wolf barked in my head.

“I know, Callum. That’s exactly what we’re going to do!” I growled back as I stomped down the hall.

I was so lost in my thoughts that I hadn’t heard Zayne catch up to me.

“Just stop and talk to me!” He persisted, grabbing my wrist to pull me back. In my frustration, I turned to snarl at him.

“Don’t!” I thundered, lost to the tumult of my emotions. “I can’t stay here! This was never going to work and you know it. If I go, at least I can try to do something useful. See what I can find out about Dark Fae and how to fig

    (Four Months Later) Sarah’s POV “Aaagh! I can’t do this anymore!” I cried, falling back into Zayne’s arms, totally spent. “Yes, you can, princess!
