Chapter 11

"HOW IS SHE?" Kai asked the doctor hurriedly. The doctor hung his stethoscope around his neck before facing him.

"Don’t worry about your girlfriend, she just had a slight concussion due to what happened earlier, as you mentioned, so there's no need to worry," the doctor said with a smile.

“If she's okay, then why is she in pain?” he questioned, not understanding why the girl was complaining about her head.

"I know you're worried, but it's natural. I already gave her a painkiller, and all she needs is to rest. I think she has a low tolerance for pain and she's quite tired, so take care of your girlfriend," the doctor explained before leaving.

"I'm not your girlfriend, that doctor keeps saying it over and over," Blessie said with a pout and narrowed eyes.

“It’s okay, you'll get used to it,” Kai said with a grin.

“Shut up! You’re saying all sorts of things!” she said, closing her eyes in embarrassment.

Kai approached her and gently placed an ice pack on her forehead, which had a bump. Blessie tried to pull away, but Kai didn't let the ice pack leave her forehead.

"Will you feel glad that I’m here saving you when you're in trouble? I just offer you help, but you seem ungrateful. Have I done anything wrong to you since we met?” Kai asked her, looking into her eyes.

Blessie was taken aback by his words. She knew he had helped her, but her attitude made it seem like he was doing something bad to her.

“Why am I avoiding him?” she questioned herself. She started to think about her reasons—was it because of her secret? Fear?

She looked at Kai, who was now gently pressing the ice pack to her forehead. His almond-shaped eyes, sharp nose, thin lips, strong jawline, and well-built physique were all very noticeable.

“Should I be afraid? Who would be afraid of a guy who looks like that? Any girl would like him with his strong appearance; it's impossible that no one is chasing him,” Blessie thought to herself as she observed him.

Blessie continued to observe and study Kai, almost not realizing she was getting lost in her thoughts. She was suddenly startled when she felt Kai's forehead pressed against hers, their lips only a few centimeters apart, any moment now they could touch.

“Whom do you think about when I’m right here in front of you?” Kai asked, his voice melting her insides.

Blessie couldn’t speak out of shock. Kai gazed into her eyes, then down at her lips, and back to her eyes.

“Should I punish you again? You keep ignoring my presence, and it hurts me,” he said, sounding genuinely pained.

Kai moved closer, reducing the space between them so much that with just one mistake, he could reach Blessie's lips, and taste her soft and sweet lips again. The girl closed her eyes in overwhelming nervousness and confusion about what was happening. She couldn’t push him away because part of her mind was telling her that she wanted this to happen. But all her nervousness and confusion vanished when she felt Kai lick her lips.

“It’s too bad for you if you get too much kissing,” Kai whispered teasingly in her ear.

Blessie opened her eyes and saw that Kai’s face was now farther from hers.

“Wh-what? Did I say something?” she stammered, her face flushing.

“You didn’t, but your red face did,” Kai replied with a grin, amused by her reaction.

“Stop it!” she snapped, turning her face away in embarrassment.

“That’s so cute of you,” he said sweetly.

He held her face and turned it back to him. He leaned closer, caressing her lips.

“This is so sweet,” Kai said softly. “If you want to taste me or kiss me, then be my date tonight.”

Blessie’s eyes widened. “What do you mean I want to taste you? Kiss you?” she exclaimed, embarrassed and blushing. “In your dreams! You’re not my type!” She tried to push him away, but Kai stepped back first.

“Don’t push yourself too hard, just rest. I won’t bother you,” he said gently and sat down in a nearby chair.

Blessie couldn’t speak, but she felt that Kai was hurt by her words. Did I go too far?

“I won’t do any silly things, so rest assured,” Kai reassured her, focusing on his phone.

Blessie kept her eyes on Kai, unsure of what he might do next, like earlier. I should guard myself.

“If you keep staring at me like that, I might think you really want me—” he teased, glancing at her. “…badly.” He grinned mischievously.

“Shut up! Don’t do anything or I’ll kill you!” she threatened, covering her face with a pillow.

“Is that how you repay my kindness?”

Blessie fell silent and suddenly came to her senses after what the young man said. She bit her lip and thought for a moment, feeling a pang of guilt. So she subtly glanced at Kai, who was still busy with his phone.

Though embarrassed, Blessie took a deep breath. "Then what should I do to pay you?" she asked softly. She knew that despite her annoyance and embarrassment, she still owed him, especially after he helped her earlier by taking her to the clinic for a check-up.

“What? I can’t hear you clearly.”

Damn it! She cursed in her mind, irritated again.

“Are you deaf? I said, ‘What should I do to repay you?’ Did you hear me now?” she yelled.

Kai turned and smiled. “Be my date, later,” he said happily.

Blessie abruptly sat up in surprise. “You’re really pushing that? You’re so sneaky,” she said, annoyed.

“Then if you don’t want to, why ask me?” Kai replied with a straight face.

Blessie bit her lip, but she couldn’t let his help go unrewarded. She hated owing anyone anything.

“Fine! Then let me sleep! I’m really sleepy,” she answered bluntly.

“Are you sure about that?” Kai asked, confirming.

“Yes! And make sure you don’t do anything stupid, or I won’t show up!” she said firmly.

“Okay then, I’ll behave,” Kai muttered.

“Good!”

Blessie lay down and began to close her eyes, unaware that a smile had escaped her lips. There was a part of her heart that she couldn't understand; she was confused about her feelings. She didn't know this man, yet she felt a connection with him. Despite what her mind told her, her body wanted to draw closer to him, to what was happening.
