"What!" Nana and the luna shouted at the same time, while Quinlan just stood, face blank, eyes looking right into my watery ones. It was the hardest thing I had ever done in my life, and yet it felt right. I clutched the left part of my chest, grunting at the squeezing pain that intensified by the second.

"You will n-ot ki-ll h-im because of m-e," I stammered, wincing in between the utterances. I went inside the house, ignoring the women's protests as they called me back. It felt like my chest was being ripped in two in a slow manner that guaranteed pain. With the fastest pace I could master, I went up to my room, my vision blurry.

'You're doing the right thing,' I whispered to myself as I closed the door. It felt like deja vu as I plopped on the bed face first and just let everything out. My body felt so weak all of a sudden, while my hands began to shake. A sweat broke right below my hairline while I let out an ugly scream.
