MasukKendell
“Mark me,” her wolf growled sweetly into my ears, sending my wolf and me into a frenzy.
I balled my fists above her head, trying to keep my emotions in check.
Moon goddess.
My mate was a beauty.
Just looking at her made me want to fill her with my pups.
“No!” she declared, her aggression returning, making my wolf and me more eager to claim her.
I leaned close to her, taking a whiff of the wonderful smell I had come to love now— flowers and honey.
It was a weird mix, but coming from her, it somehow became perfect.
Who would have thought that I, the rumored beast, would have a mate of his own?
My gums ached as they grew longer, and I stared at her neck in hunger to mark her.
To devour her.
This was my first time meeting her, but I could already tell I was in for a lot. I thought to myself ignoring the rubbish she just spilled.
Eleven years ago, I didn't know if I could have a mate.
Being mate-less and at the age of twenty-nine had already set my wolf and me on edge.
We were on the brink of madness.
Every ten years we hosted a sacrifice, but it was to look for a potential mate, or my fated mate.
As the Alpha King and the most dominant in the royal family bloodline, there was a secret we never wanted to let out.
A secret that related to our mates.
That was why no one in the palace could freely tell we were looking for mates, not sacrifices.
“Mate,” I whispered into her ear, and I wasted no time, sinking my fangs into her neck.
I felt her body go slack as she purred from delight, but I was far from over…
She was mine. She wanted me, but why was she stopping herself, her wolf wanted us also... I saw how she gave in to mine, but Alexa here was something I couldn't comprehend.
Her anger, it was a form of old. Something was wrong somewhere, but why so much hate?
She alone had answers to my questions, and I will make her confess to me.
...
It has been three days already, and she still hasn't woken up.
Was my mark too strong for her to bear?
Panic rose in my heart at my next thought, "Did...did I kill her?"
A deep exhale left my mouth as I stared at the mountain of files on the table of my office space, my eyes briefly meeting that of my Beta's before resting back on the papers.
Due to finding my mate, I had left the palace for George, my Beta, to run, and I came back to meet him.
I dropped the paper I was holding onto the table, pursing my lips at him.
“It is not my fault, okay?” He raised his hands innocently, “This came in immediately after you left.”
Narrowing my eyes at him, I felt the urge to strangle him and if he weren't my brother, I would have.
I rubbed my temples, closing my eyes, on important matters, “Is it done?”
George sat straight, the playfulness in his eyes vanishing. “Yes, but the council wants an explanation.”
I let out a sneer, “Why should I? It's not like I say anything when they do it.”
Just thinking about it makes my heart boil, and I wish I could do it myself.
The audacity that the wolf had to touch my mate.
“Don't agitate your wolf, man,” George explained, “It is not worth it since he is dead.”
“You do not understand,” I said with a frown. “As much as I'd like to mutilate him for touching my mate, Francis’ actions show something. He’s been doing that for years. And right under my nose.”
George went silent, as he got what I implied.
It was just like ten years ago.
When I had just clocked eighteen. Like every other wolf, I had been waiting for my mate to stride in until that elder. Because of him, I lost my parents, and I was labeled the beast.
“Do you think it has something to do with him?” George inquired with worry on his face.
I didn't reply.
Francis was horrible.
He had taken some of the maidens and sold them to brothels and raping a few.
“Since we have no clue let us focus on another issue.”
George dismissed, changing the topic. “What about your mate?”
Mentioning my mate, my wolf jerked and I looked at George with a frown.
I knew he was just curious, but I couldn't help the growl that left my lips. “Respect. Refer to your sister-in-law and Queen with respect.”
George’s eyes flashed as he realized his mistake. Hurriedly he replied, “Yes, your majesty.”
“She's fine,” I huffed out, trying so much to convince myself and him, seeing as he wasn't putting up much of a fight.
I couldn't help but let my mind wonder again... She has been asleep for three days now, and that bothers me a lot.
Was it because she was weak compared to me? Was that why she was in a coma?
While I thought, I felt a stir in my mind. I raised a brow, recognizing the link as Rose’s.
‘What is it?’ I answered, slightly irritated.
‘Your Majesty, her Highness is awake,’ Rose informed me.
I straightened my back, my heart gladden, ‘How is she?’
I had gone to visit her a few times, but she was still sleeping.
Hearing she was awake already, my wolf was now fighting for control.
I ignored George's curious glance at me.
Unfortunately for him, he was out of town when I found my mate, and like me before, he was mate-less.
‘Her Highness is okay. Would you like to meet her?’ her voice cooed.
‘Yes. Have her ready and meet me at the dining hall. I will be waiting.’
‘Yes, Your Majesty.’
I cut off the link, standing to my feet.
“George, I have pressing matters to attend to.”
“Is Her Majesty awake?” he asked, his voice laced with curiosity.
I paused in my steps, shaking my head in a nod, “Yes.”
With that, I strode out of the office and to my room.
The maids had already picked out my clothes for me, so after a bath, I changed into a new set and went straight to the dining hall.
This time, I'll have a proper discussion with my mate.
Who knows what she might spill out this time.
Alexa"Get me Ciara, Trisha, or Elora, please," I whispered, clenching my jaw to hide the pain building inside me. I couldn't let the crowd see—not yet.But it seems Ciara suspected and rushed to my side. Trisha, Lisa, Diana, and Elora also, and I was being shifted away from the crowd."I'm coming with her," Kendell demanded, despite the pleas of the ladies. It was such a good thing that it wasn't so far from the palace, I might have given birth on the streets of the Pack.Ciara wrapped her thick veil around me, as she ripped a part of my dress that was soaked. "Breathe, Alexa. Just breathe," her voice trembled.Kendell held my hands tightly, fear in his eyes."Can this go any faster," he barked at the wolf pulling the carriage. At his command, we moved forward. The guards flung the gates open at the sight of us. Inside we barely made it to my chambers before I felt another sting of pain."Quick, get the midwives!" Trisha shouted, turning to Lisa, who was shivering."We would need an
Alexa"Alexa! Alexa!"Someone was calling me over and over again, pulling me out of a dream I didn't want to leave."What! I'm freaking up!" I grumbled, my voice thick with sleep.Ciara stood by my bedside, arms crossed, tapping her foot. "Today is your mating day, sis. Do you really want to be late for your own wedding?" My eyes flew open. My heart skipped. Oh my I was so excited about today that I forgot myself.I scrambled up, sitting awkwardly with the extra weight of my belly. "Why didn't you wake me earlier?" I muttered, dragging myself off the bed.Ciara shot me a look. "You think I didn't try? You were dead to the world!" she frowned back."Your Majesty, your bath is ready," Trisha called softly from the bathroom, her hands glistening with water. The scent of lavender and rose floating in the air, I guess that may be the herbs she infused in the water."She's the bride. No one starts without her," Ciara teased, helping me with my foot wear."Yes, Luna," Trisha bowed, "but th
Xena"Have you heard the news?" Norman asked as he strode lazily to our room, in his casual wear."The news that Alexa is getting married, and we have to be there in time for her wedding, or what?" I asked, trying to pack up all the necessary items we might need. His hands cradled me from behind, rubbing on my baby bump."How's my little prince doing?" he asked, nibbling kisses on my skin."He's fit as a fiddle, Your Highness," I replied, and we both broke into a laugh.Ever since he had publicly accepted me despite all the stains and all, life has been so much better. It turns out, when you have nothing to hide, then you have nothing to be ashamed about.Norman knows every single thing about me, and I found no shame in telling him.His parents also warmed up to me, seeing I wasn't as bad as they had expected."We have to get going, my love. We don't want to be there exhausted and late for their wedding." I pouted, cupping his face in my hands."I know, my love. I just want some minut
Alexa"What are you doing?" Ciara asked with a frown on her face as she picked up the tray of food I had just set down.I pouted, not wanting to have any more."I'm full, Ciara," I said, even though if I finished this tray of food, I still wouldn't be satisfied."No, you can't be." I watched in admiration as she scolded me. A good thing she didn't go with Killian yet. "Eat up.""My wedding dress, Ciara. I want to, you know... fit in..."Her face fell as a "hmmm" sound escaped through her nose, "Is Kendell making you do this?""What?" I almost screamed. "No, Ciara, I just want to look good for myself.""Alexa, you are already beautiful. What more do you want?"I straightened my face to hers. "More beautiful?" I guess."Stop it, Alexa," she murmured as she hit the floor with a low thud."Fine, Ciara, I will have some mor—" I was still saying when a knock interrupted."Who's there?" Ciara asked."George," he said plainly. "Can I come in?"Ciara turned to me for approval, and I nodded.Sh
KendellIndeed, no one knows what's going on in the heart of a woman.Though fidgeting, I never thought Alexa would say no to me."That's OK..." I said, when Alexa interrupted amidst the hall going savage."You want to know why?" she cocked her brows as she leaned closer."Why?" I asked before I could stop myself."Your reasons weren't good enough!" she said."What?" The crowd went bizarre again, and she stood up facing them."You want me to marry your King? Then give me a reason too," she said.I watched one by one as almost everyone within the halls gave reasons why Alexa should marry me, while she sat enjoying what they had to say, my knee bruised against the tiles, my bones almost shifting, but I endured that with a smile on my face. Now it was her sister's turn to speak as she moved forward a bit, watching us from the podium."You are such a drama queen, aren't you!" Ciara began, her voice subtle. "Kindly free us from standing, my feet hurt," she admitted."Yes or no, Alexa, make
AlexaSuddenly, the wind decided to blow louder, a more auspicious sigh."Wrong? How?" I asked, as her words weren't making sense."She's acting strange," she said. "Come see for yourself."No, Moon Goddess, not my sister...“I just found her, so please don't think about taking her also,” I said a silent prayer as I followed Trisha. For some reasons, and not just for the safety of my pups, I didn't run. I was trembling so much to even think of that.I walked slowly because I feared what I might see when I got to Ciara."Your Majesty, here," Trisha pointed out, stopping me from going the wrong way."What....d....di....did... you say happened to Ciara again?""She's acting strange," she responded, not slowing down as she led me into a room that was dim. I couldn't even see my hands... My fear intensified as I lost Trisha in the darkness also."Trisha?" I asked, but my voice only echoed.Where was this place even?"Trisha!" I screamed, and my voice echoed again.Just then, a voice of som
