With the alcohol warming her, Serena's cheeks were flushed and her lips were full and glistening.

Marcus was still upset about the time she embarrassed him by showing a video of him and Katrina in front of everyone.

Now, not only was she unscathed, but she had also married into the Kade family, becoming a wealthy wife. Technically, he had to call her "Aunt."

"Serena, who are you trying to fool? I was the one who didn't want you first! What do you have that compares to Katrina? Don't think that just because the Kade family acknowledges you, you're safe. My uncle isn't that easy to win over…”

As he spoke, he started to get handsy. He had been drinking too and with a mix of impulsiveness and resentment, he was eager to vent his emotions on someone.

His face flushed, he moved roughly, grabbing Serena's slender shoulders and trying to pull her in for a kiss.

"Get lost! Once you've tasted the finest, who would want to go back to eating scraps? Just looking at you makes me want to puke..."

Not far down the hallway, Damien stood with his friend.

His friend adjusted his gold-rimmed glasses and chuckled, "Damien, isn't that your wife? What's she doing hanging out with Marcus?”

Damien smirked when he heard Serena describe him as "the finest." He was about to step forward when a loud "slap!" echoed through the corridor.

Even the blaring music couldn't drown out the sound of the slap!

Serena remained unfazed, simply blowing on her slightly reddened palm. "Sober now? Disrespect your elders and you'll get struck by lightning!"

Elders? Marcus clutched his face, gritting his teeth! He felt indignant, but... it was kind of true!

Damien paused for a moment, his smile growing wider.

"Damien, your wife is something else! She's clearly not to be messed with, better not cross her or you might end up like Wayne, getting slapped by a woman!"

Damien kept his composure, his eyes filled with desire as they traveled up from Serena's ankles.

Her straight legs were accentuated by the tight dress, highlighting her graceful and perfect figure.

His Adam's apple bobbed up and down.

"No worries, if she hits me, I'll just hit back..."

"What...?"

"She'll just end up begging for more," he said with a cryptic smile before striding over to Serena.

"You wretched woman! Do you think you can just walk all over me?" Marcus shouted, his voice rising as more and more people gathered around to watch the spectacle.

Some had already recognized him and his pride was taking a hit.

"

Now it's your aunt teaching you a lesson. You should have behaved better, so take this as a reminder!" Serena retorted, unfazed by the crowd.

Damien knew Serena wasn't one to be easily messed with. In his otherwise smooth yet dull life, perhaps he did need an interesting woman to spice things up.

Standing leisurely behind them, Damien let out a chuckle.

"When the younger ones misbehave, they do need a bit of discipline. Marcus, where exactly did your hands and mouth wander just now? Show some respect!"

Marcus's face turned crimson with embarrassment. All the insults he wanted to hurl were swallowed back down when he saw Damien.

"Uncle, it was this woman who was seducing me! Just like she did with you!" Marcus tried to pull Damien into his corner.

"Oh? So you decided to force yourself on her?" Damien's lips curled into a mocking smile, then he turned calmly to Serena. "You weren't bitten, were you?"

Serena laughed, her eyes sparkling and shook her head.

Seeing the two share a knowing smile, Marcus felt a burning frustration rise within him, blocking his chest.

There was still a mess in the company accounts that he hadn't managed to cover up, making him wary of acting out too much in front of Damien. Even though he felt wronged, he couldn't afford to make a scene.

"Uncle, I'm just looking out for you. After all, I've been engaged to this woman for a year. You should keep an eye on her true colors..." he muttered through gritted teeth before slinking away, humiliated.

The place was crowded and Serena found it too noisy. She flipped her hair back and slowly walked past Vallar.

Damien subtly followed her. "Looks like the eldest Miss Vale might have forgotten something important. How about we take care of it when you're free?"

"Mr. Kade, what do you have in mind?" Serena didn't mention the scandalous photos from the lavish party.

Instead, she crossed her arms andlooked up at him with a bright and sincere smile.

"We had the wedding, but we haven't picked up the marriage certificate yet. How about tomorrow? No time like the present."

Serena raised an eyebrow. "So, you're serious about making it official with me?"

"What else? I don't have time to play house."

"Nine in the morning, we'll get the certificate at the registry office, then you'll come with me to the Vale family."

Thinking about the frustration she endured today, she was determined to bring Damien along to turn the tables.

"Alright."

Damien stepped closer, his gaze suggestive as he looked at Serena. "Shall we head back? Celebrate a little?"

Adult games, the kind that last until dawn. Serena chuckled. Damien might look like someone who practices restraint, but he was something else.

She knew all too well what he was like behind closed doors.

Especially after those photos of him at the extravagant party surfaced recently...

"Mr. Kade, aren't you tired?" Serena asked with genuine concern for his well-being. "Even young people need to watch out for exhaustion, you know."

Damien frowned slightly. "Are you trying to kill the mood?"

Serena's smile grew even brighter as she stood on her tiptoes to touch his face lightly.

"Let's finish the paperwork first, then we can plan another date!"

She had her friends waiting at the bar and she didn't have time to chat with this annoying guy.

Not far away, Damien's friend was growing impatient. As Serena approached, he greeted her with a smile, behind his gold-rimmed glasses were sharp, intelligent eyes.

Serena waved casually at him and made her way through the corridor to the bar.

She sat down and finished her Long Island Iced Tea from earlier.

After a moment of thought, Brad smiled and said, "I haven't met the right person yet, so I haven't gotten married."Serena chuckled and asked the group, "Is everyone satisfied with Brad's answer?""No, not at all...""That's too vague!"Serena turned back to him, "your answer isn't convincing. You need to give us a better one!"Brad looked at Serena and finally gave in, "Alright! The truth is, I was hurt by a girl once and since then, I haven't liked any other women. How's that for an answer?"The room erupted in laughter, except for Lucas, who looked shocked and Damien, who was always serious and rarely smiled.Serena didn't laugh either; instead, she seemed a bit surprised. She thought to herself, that woman couldn't possibly be her. While most didn't believe Brad's story, Lucas did.Although Brad claimed never to believe in love, Lucas wasn't convinced. When she got home, she looked him up and found out who he was. No wonder Lucas seemed so familiar. When Lucas saw Brad step out of the car not far away, his expression was one of shock that he couldn't hide. After all, Lucas was among the few who knew about Brad and Serena's past. Though not entirely certain, he knew they were very close during their school days.Brad had been in the student council back then and often helped and looked after Serena. Everyone thought they were a couple and would eventually end up together. What happened later, Lucas wasn't sure, he only knew Brad had been in a car accident because of a woman. He had a hunch that the woman was Serena. Given how close Brad and Serena had been, it was hard not to suspect there was something more between them.Brad smiled at the stunned Lucas. "What? Are you so shocked to see me that your jaw's about to drop?"Lucas quickly composed himself. "Haha, it's just been so long since I've seen you. I'm surprised you got even

Serena hurried into the company and accidentally bumped into Damein.Damien steadied her, raising an eyebrow. "Are you being chased by a dog?"Serena looked up at Damien and nodded vigorously. "Something scarier than a dog."Damien: "...""Try to be more composed in the office. Don't be so clumsy."Serena: "..."How could she not be clumsy? There was a persistent pest outside! After all these years, why hadn't he let her go?Sure, he was her first love, but that was ages ago. How could those feelings still be taken seriously?Fearing that Brad might still be outside, Serena suddenly grabbed Damien's arm.Damien frowned slightly, clearly displeased. But Serena didn't care and said to Damien, "Wherever you're going, take me with you."Damien shook off her hand. "I'm going to a meeting. Are you sure you want to tag along?"Serena was resolute. "Even if I have to go through fire and water, I'm sticking with you." Bradwas just too dangerous and avoiding him seemed the best option for now.

The factory was quite a distance away and located in a remote area. Damein agreed, understanding that as a fashion designer, Serena needed to see how her designs were being brought to life. With the approval in hand, Serena set off with Layla. Layla brought along her cameraman, who had been working with her for a long time. He was professional and knew exactly what to film and what not to, requiring no further instructions.Serena donned protective gear and followed Layla into the workshop. The workspace was immaculate, with professional assembly lines in place. Having visited similar setups abroad, Serena was familiar with the operations. After touring the factory, Layla was very pleased. She shook hands with Serena, saying, “Serena, I hope we have a successful collaboration."Serena smiled back, shaking Layla's hand, "I'm honored that you trust me. Here's to a great partnership."The ready-to-ship items for the live stream were rushed, but the quality was top-notch. Layla had overs

Serena also pulled up Layla's return rate statistics for the team to review. "Layla not only has impressive numbers, but her return rate is the lowest. She always works with brands that prioritize quality, which is why her followers trust her choices. I've already reached out to Layla and she's interested in collaborating with our Kade clothing brand. However, her condition is that quality must be impeccable, with no issues whatsoever. She plans to send her team to audit our quality standards. I believe she's the perfect candidate for the host role. What do you all think?"Juliet was surprised that Serena had actually taken initiative and contacted Layla so quickly. It showed she was serious about her work. Usually, Serena was either gaming or napping at the office, but when it mattered, she stepped up.Juliet was a bit impressed, though she wasn't about to let Serena off the hook so easily. She still needed to prove herself.Everyone else agreed, as Layla had been a popular suggestio
