With the alcohol warming her, Serena's cheeks were flushed and her lips were full and glistening.

Marcus was still upset about the time she embarrassed him by showing a video of him and Katrina in front of everyone.

Now, not only was she unscathed, but she had also married into the Kade family, becoming a wealthy wife. Technically, he had to call her "Aunt."

"Serena, who are you trying to fool? I was the one who didn't want you first! What do you have that compares to Katrina? Don't think that just because the Kade family acknowledges you, you're safe. My uncle isn't that easy to win over…”

As he spoke, he started to get handsy. He had been drinking too and with a mix of impulsiveness and resentment, he was eager to vent his emotions on someone.

His face flushed, he moved roughly, grabbing Serena's slender shoulders and trying to pull her in for a kiss.

"Get lost! Once you've tasted the finest, who would want to go back to eating scraps? Just looking at you makes me want to puke..."

Not far down the hallway, Damien stood with his friend.

His friend adjusted his gold-rimmed glasses and chuckled, "Damien, isn't that your wife? What's she doing hanging out with Marcus?”

Damien smirked when he heard Serena describe him as "the finest." He was about to step forward when a loud "slap!" echoed through the corridor.

Even the blaring music couldn't drown out the sound of the slap!

Serena remained unfazed, simply blowing on her slightly reddened palm. "Sober now? Disrespect your elders and you'll get struck by lightning!"

Elders? Marcus clutched his face, gritting his teeth! He felt indignant, but... it was kind of true!

Damien paused for a moment, his smile growing wider.

"Damien, your wife is something else! She's clearly not to be messed with, better not cross her or you might end up like Wayne, getting slapped by a woman!"

Damien kept his composure, his eyes filled with desire as they traveled up from Serena's ankles.

Her straight legs were accentuated by the tight dress, highlighting her graceful and perfect figure.

His Adam's apple bobbed up and down.

"No worries, if she hits me, I'll just hit back..."

"What...?"

"She'll just end up begging for more," he said with a cryptic smile before striding over to Serena.

"You wretched woman! Do you think you can just walk all over me?" Marcus shouted, his voice rising as more and more people gathered around to watch the spectacle.

Some had already recognized him and his pride was taking a hit.

"

Now it's your aunt teaching you a lesson. You should have behaved better, so take this as a reminder!" Serena retorted, unfazed by the crowd.

Damien knew Serena wasn't one to be easily messed with. In his otherwise smooth yet dull life, perhaps he did need an interesting woman to spice things up.

Standing leisurely behind them, Damien let out a chuckle.

"When the younger ones misbehave, they do need a bit of discipline. Marcus, where exactly did your hands and mouth wander just now? Show some respect!"

Marcus's face turned crimson with embarrassment. All the insults he wanted to hurl were swallowed back down when he saw Damien.

"Uncle, it was this woman who was seducing me! Just like she did with you!" Marcus tried to pull Damien into his corner.

"Oh? So you decided to force yourself on her?" Damien's lips curled into a mocking smile, then he turned calmly to Serena. "You weren't bitten, were you?"

Serena laughed, her eyes sparkling and shook her head.

Seeing the two share a knowing smile, Marcus felt a burning frustration rise within him, blocking his chest.

There was still a mess in the company accounts that he hadn't managed to cover up, making him wary of acting out too much in front of Damien. Even though he felt wronged, he couldn't afford to make a scene.

"Uncle, I'm just looking out for you. After all, I've been engaged to this woman for a year. You should keep an eye on her true colors..." he muttered through gritted teeth before slinking away, humiliated.

The place was crowded and Serena found it too noisy. She flipped her hair back and slowly walked past Vallar.

Damien subtly followed her. "Looks like the eldest Miss Vale might have forgotten something important. How about we take care of it when you're free?"

"Mr. Kade, what do you have in mind?" Serena didn't mention the scandalous photos from the lavish party.

Instead, she crossed her arms andlooked up at him with a bright and sincere smile.

"We had the wedding, but we haven't picked up the marriage certificate yet. How about tomorrow? No time like the present."

Serena raised an eyebrow. "So, you're serious about making it official with me?"

"What else? I don't have time to play house."

"Nine in the morning, we'll get the certificate at the registry office, then you'll come with me to the Vale family."

Thinking about the frustration she endured today, she was determined to bring Damien along to turn the tables.

"Alright."

Damien stepped closer, his gaze suggestive as he looked at Serena. "Shall we head back? Celebrate a little?"

Adult games, the kind that last until dawn. Serena chuckled. Damien might look like someone who practices restraint, but he was something else.

She knew all too well what he was like behind closed doors.

Especially after those photos of him at the extravagant party surfaced recently...

"Mr. Kade, aren't you tired?" Serena asked with genuine concern for his well-being. "Even young people need to watch out for exhaustion, you know."

Damien frowned slightly. "Are you trying to kill the mood?"

Serena's smile grew even brighter as she stood on her tiptoes to touch his face lightly.

"Let's finish the paperwork first, then we can plan another date!"

She had her friends waiting at the bar and she didn't have time to chat with this annoying guy.

Not far away, Damien's friend was growing impatient. As Serena approached, he greeted her with a smile, behind his gold-rimmed glasses were sharp, intelligent eyes.

Serena waved casually at him and made her way through the corridor to the bar.

She sat down and finished her Long Island Iced Tea from earlier.

One of the officers replied, "You're under arrest for fraud and causing someone to commit suicide. Justice may be delayed, but it is never denied. We've finally caught you. "Honey, what's wrong? Please don't scare me.”Chris pointed at the person on the TV news broadcast. "Help me take a look. Isn't that the fortune teller from back then, Master Xu?"Laura squinted at the screen and indeed, it was him

Recalling Katrina's demeanor, Mrs. Sabrina's expression darkened. "There are so many women in this world, why choose this Katrina? Don't even think about it. She will never be part of the Kade family."The Kade family wasn't a place just any woman could marry into.Marcus couldn't quite understand why Mrs. Sabrina had such a strong opinion against Katrina. He felt a bit uncomfortable, but given Mrs. Sabrina's clear stance, saying more might only anger her.Oh well, this wasn't something to rush. He'd have to take it step by step. He just needed to slowly get Mrs. Sabrina to accept Katrina. After all, he couldn't yet unseat his uncle from the CEO position, so he needed the Vale family on his side.Even though his uncle had married Serena, she wasn't well-regarded in her own family. The Vale family parents had always shown a strong dislike for Serena, favoring Katrina instead. Alright, just be careful not to get burned. I'll message you back after I find out more.""Okay, I'll hang up now."Serena hung up the phone and immediately called Damien.Damien was in the middle of a meeting when he saw Serena's call. He paused the meeting and asked the others to continue the discussion without him.Stepping out of the conference room, Damien answered the call."What's up?""I need to ask you something," Serena's raspy voice brought to mind the times she'd pleaded with him, which seemed to put him in a good mood."Get to the point," he said, his voice still as cool as ever but with an added layer of intrigue.Serena didn't beat around the bush. "Why is the company asking Liam to resign? Did he do something wrong?"Damien raised an eyebrow slightly. "The matter of resignations doesn't usually reach my level, but the company isn't planning any layoffs right now."In other words, the company hadn't fired anyone unless they chose to leave on their own.Serena paused, wo

Liam shook his head vigorously and said, "I'm sorry. It was my fault last night. But don't worry, I'll take responsibility for what happened."Liam had always been a straightforward person. He never admitted to things he actually did. So, Layla was surprised when Liam offered to take responsibility.Last night's events might have been a fluke, perhaps a trick of the senses dulled by alcohol, leading to misunderstandings. Actions taken while drunk usually don't count for much, but Layla didn't expect Liam to step up.Finding it amusing, Layla asked, "So, how do you plan to take responsibility?""If you don't mind, I'd like to marry you..."Layla was stunned, completely taken aback. They barely knew each other, having only met twice, his sudden proposal left her shocked.Swallowing hard, she asked, "Are you serious? We hardly know each other. Isn't getting married a bit too fast?"Liam thought for a moment and nodded, "You're right. Let me introduce myself first. I'm Liam, head of the d

The man glared at Damien with resentment but stopped struggling. He had forgotten that this area was under surveillance and everything he did to Serena had been recorded. There was no way to deny it.On the way home, Serena fell asleep. Damien glanced at her, feeling quite helpless. When they arrived at the apartment, he touched Serena's forehead. She was running a slight fever again.Just after her fever subsided, she went out drinking again. She really wasn't afraid of anything. He found Serena's medicine and helped her take it.Serena nearly spat it out; it was so bitter.Damien quickly covered her mouth, "Swallow it. Don't you dare spit it out."Serena had no choice but to gulp it down and then a piece of candy was popped into her mouth. This whole ordeal left Serena wide awake. Maybe she had napped a bit in the car and the alcohol was wearing off.She quickly stripped off her clothes and threw herself onto Damien.Damien was speechless."They say when you have a fever, doing that

Serena smiled at Layla. "Don't worry! We haven't lost yet. Winning or losing isn't determined now, but in three days..."Layla's eyes suddenly lit up. "You mean, a lot of people might return their purchases from Lila's side?"Serena smiled warmly, "Absolutely, just watch and see."Layla chuckled, "Alright then, let's celebrate our successful collaboration."Serena was planning to invite Layla's team along with her own for a celebratory dinner, maybe even a little party, since they had worked together so well. But before she could suggest it, Liam, the department head, brought it up himself.Since Liam had already proposed it, Serena had no objections. Both teams went out for a celebratory meal. During the dinner, Liam even suggested they go out for drinks and karaoke, booking a particularly large room for everyone.Serena was surprised. When did Liam become so generous? In her mind, Liam had always been a bit stiff and formal. Always pushing Juliet to do his work.Layla, sitting ne
